we splashed out for one fancy night at this beautiful ryokan on our recent holiday and it was SO WORTH IT. we had a private onsen room, the decor felt cosy and traditional. The public/private onsen’s were so nice too. The dinner was delicious and great to taste high quality traditional Japanese food - particularly for two people who are a bit fussy - we ate everything!!! This place had so much to give, it was so peaceful and I only wish we could have stayed longer.

We came on the train which requires another bus to reach the hotel. It would be nice to have a courtesy pick up from the train station which is only 5 minutes drive away.

The amenities were great! They had free oden and ramen throughout the night. They had free popsicles and all you can drink (coffee/juice/beer) from the afternoon to 9:30PM. There is a coffee station that is open 24/hours as well. We stayed in the Mizu no Kataribe building with a a river facing room. This building allows you to cross the suspension bridge. The staff were super friendly and there were English and Mandarin speakers. Onsens were so nice. There are 4 private baths. 2 open and 2 indoors. It’s first come first serve and there’s a 40 minute time limit. There is also 4 public baths. 2 indoors and 2 outdoors. And they’re gendered - man and woman. The nice thing is that they swap the public baths over night so you can see/try them all.

We had dinner and the Japanese breakfast. Both were beautiful, but it wasn’t as tasty as it looked. It’s likely just not suited to my taste. Otherwise everything was great!

The breakfast was amazing and the setting for it was beautiful! I loved the onsen facilities, and there was always something available if not the private. Overall very beautiful and worth the $.

The carpets need to be changed, as they are stained everywhere. It was weird because the rest of the place was beautiful, but the floors, no. Suggest changing to lifeproof/something that can be cleaned. Also, they used too many plastic disposable cups/materials.

The facility itself was immaculate. There are enough onsens and I never have to wait for room. The restaurant offered private dining, both food and service were excellent.

The only thing I like would be porter service to help us bring our luggages to our room as we had an upstairs room and there's no lift in the facility.

Amazing truly local ryokan that had us so comfortable that we had 3 nights of 10hr+ of sleep. Beds were great, private& public spas great, food well done& staff really had us well attended to. Go here for rest& away from hoi polloi for sure.

Cultural and historic Japanese style inn with various kinds of hot springs. Delicious food and staff members' welcoming hospitality. We enjoyed retro style Japanese beauty. Maze like facility. Reaching out to our room was intriguing.
