Room: I had a room facing the harbor with gorgeous view of sunrise. Rooftop Breakfast: decent spread of varieties and excellent venue facing the harbor. Location: near Kokura train station- 7 min walk. Hotel seems rather new. There’s water dispenser at the lobby and lockers (FOC) too to leave your luggage should you do day trips and check in after 3 pm or after check out.

Conveniently located, a very efficient set up with all the essentials carefully considered.

Having queued for check in with a human, the staff directed us to check in using the machines. Unfortunately there was a glitch with their system as a big group had been checking in at the same time, which resulted in us going up to the allocated room and opening the door with the keycard to find the room already occupied! I took a photo of the situation as I knew the staff wouldn’t believe me. The staff apologised profusely and we were allocated a new room. This was a very new experience - it must have been worse for the elderly couple who were barged in on! ;)

Very close from Kokura shinkansen train station. The room size was decent and clean. Very friendly staff. If you are lucky you can get a room with sea side view. The are a couple of washing machines at ground floor if you need to wash and even a vending machine with beer if you are lazy to go to 7/11.

If you planned to visit Fukuoka, which is bigger, you have to take always the train. It takes only 15 min by shinkansen but take in mind that you loose maybe 1 h both ways.

Everything about this brand new Toyoko Kokura hotel was fabulous! Yes the beds are extra firm, but not bad. Yes it takes about 10 minutes to walk there from the station, but not bad. The staff, the big twin room, the incredible view, the great breakfast, were all amazing for the low price. This hotel sets a new standard for Toyoko Hotels!

The clothes hangers make noise from the neighboring room, loud enough to wake us up every night.

New hotel, very clean, good location next to the Conference Centre, where I attended an international energy conference, which was good. View to the sea, EXCELLENT breakfast on the top floor, again with sea views.

No cafe, restaurant or bar on premises, except for the breakfast room. Staff had very limited English, although this was supposed to be a hotel recommended to international guests. These phone-translators are a disgrace!

The room was very nice for a budget hotel. We appreciated the number of amenities that were provided in the lobby. There are convenient locks for storing your luggage. The breakfast area was on the 19th floor and offered sweeping view of Kokura Bay.

The hotel is a bit of a walk from the train station. There weren't many restaurants nearby. The elevators get really congested during breakfast and checkout.

1 The female staff in front of the front is friendly. I lost my umbrella in the coin locker, and they said they would look it up kindly and contact me. I was so grateful for the way you tried to find it. The male employee is also kind and friendly. All the employees were kind and dressed neatly, so it was good to see. Thank you for greeting me when I left and came in. If I go to 北九州市 next time, I plan to use it.

Nice location at the top of the hotel with a nice view of the water and harbor, great salads and breads, coffee is not bad but would be nicer in ceramic mugs or cups

no fruit for breakfast and single use chopsticks and forks and coffee cups, but when I asked they had reusable chopsticks for less waste and nicer to use

Beautiful room, located on the waterfront. I was assigned a room with seaside voew, which made for stunning views during the morning and evening. Breakfast was very tasty

Sadly, there is not much room for eating your breakfast, and during peakhours it can be difficult to find a table
