The location is excellent . Near to the shopping street and Sakura Machi shopping mall . Plenty of restaurant and shops . The hotel is good , clean and comfortable. There is a parking lot at the back of the hotel ( indoor ) but only for small car . We drove a MPV so can't park in . But the staff who take care of the parking lot is so generous . He use the translator to explain that we can park at the car park in the Sakura Machi mall with the affortable parking rate. Just need to walk about 5-7 minutes from the mall to the hotel. The room is clean and typical Japanese hotel room style. The power shower is a bonus. Ya , the most important is the Kumamoto Castle is within walking distance from the hotel . About ( 15-20 minutes walk )

I really appreciate the warmth of the hotel's reception staff and the cleanliness of the rooms maintained by the housekeeping staff. My stay here was comfortable and reassuring. The location is very convenient, being close to shopping streets, Kumamoto Castle, and other attractions. The temporary luggage storage service was also very helpful, allowing us to travel without cumbersome luggage. Thank you so much. I would consider staying here again when I visit Kumamoto in the future.🙂

The only minor drawback was the poor soundproofing within the hotel. At night, perhaps due to thermal expansion or contraction, or possibly from neighboring guests using the shower, there were crackling and popping sounds. This made it difficult for light sleepers to rest comfortably.

Good location; helpful staff - helped with parking and gave really good tips for restaurants or trips … good location - close to main road / station and street with restaurants / shops. Great breakfast with several local food options.

We booked a small room and it was really small - just to sleep nothing else (but to be fair I think it was in line with room description so more fyi). Restaurant has reception and some lounge (have not tried) but in the evening no option for dinner or bar (the street with restaurants and bars is 5 min walk though ..)

The location is fantastic. You can see it from the Sakuramachi station/ shopping centre (easy to find offline). Plenty of restaurants for all budgets, shopping and dining streets with a rooftop covering (great for rainy days). Close to the castle and all of the transportation. The room was very clean with all the facilities in great working order including all the bathroom facilities. The staff were super helpful and friendly. There was a large selection of Western and Asian style breakfast which was very good. I very much enjoyed my stay here and would definitely return given the chance.

I'm not so good with the Japanese style pillow, but it was a minor thing, and it wouldn't stop me from booking here again.

The room was clean and of a good size. The hotel was modern and the staff friendly, always willing to help out. The location was great, only a short walk from a busy shopping area and within walking distance of a few major attractions. The walk to the train station was a bit of a trek on the final day with my luggage, but there were buses which could have shortened my journey and taxis can easily be found in the area. Each floor of the hotel had vending machines so guests could purchase bottled water, coffee, tea, etc.

The decor of the room was a bit old-fashioned and the bathroom also appeared to be a little older, but that was not an issue. The only real negative is that the walls were a bit thin; I could occasionally hear guests in other rooms coughing or talking, but not to the extent that it was clear or that I could hear what they were saying. It did not bother me too much as I am quite a heavy sleeper, but a lighter sleeper might have been disturbed.

- The staff were exceptionally kind and spoke sufficient English to ensure a seamless check-in experience. - The amenities were thoughtfully provided—you can conveniently pick up anything you need near the elevators. - The breakfast was delicious and reasonably priced at 1980 JPY. - The location is superb, with tram stations just a short walk away. - Situated right in the heart of the city, it’s an ideal base for exploring. - The online check-in process was quick and hassle-free. - The lobby was beautifully designed and created a welcoming first impression. - The room was spacious and comfortable. - The WiFi connection was fast and reliable.

There is nothing negative to say about the hotel.

The staffs are extraordinary helpful. We were involved in an accident where another vehicle hit our car while parking in a parking lot. We received a notice left on the windscreen, instructing us to go to the police station, but it didn’t mention about the incident and was written on plain A4 paper without letterheads. We were unsure if the notice is genuine or a prank. The staffs at Mitsui Garden Hotel were very helpful to contact the police to obtain more information for us. The room is clean and comfortable.

The staff at the front desk were very helpful and friendly, I had made several enquiries on different occasions, and they all did their best to help. Our triple room was clean and a good size. It allowed us also to open 3 cabin size luggage and still have space to walk around. We also love the availability of the washing machines. It would be great if there's a machine to change notes to coins so hotel guests do not need to head to the front desk to change coins. They provide a good variety of selection for breakfast, and the cafe staff are also quick to replenish the items that have run out and also quick to clear the tables. There are many eateries around the hotel, and the bus terminal is within walking distance from the hotel.

The hotel is located between Kumamoto station and Kumamoto castle. This puts both of them within walking distance with a 20 minute or so walk to either. The staff were friendly and spoke excellent English. The breakfast was incredible with a huge selection of Japanese and western foods. The price was surprisingly reasonable for a Mitsui Garden.

Apart from the breakfast, the hotel was like any other business hotel. This isn't a bad thing, but Mitsui Garden has a bit of a reputation of being better than the rest. The room was rather small but still comfortable. Nothing really bad, just disappointingly average. I'd rate a 6 or 7 but the breakfast was just that good.

It’s at a great location close to Kumamoto Castle and Sakura no baba Josaien. It’s also located near a streetcare and the sunroad shopping street. What set this hotel apart was it’s insanely kind and helpful staff. We had quite a few questions and the staff helped us happily and also in perfect english (not a must but always nice). They take care of the little things like when we came a bit later at night after having dinner the staff had apparently spotted us and opened a backdoor for us. When we accidentally had gotten only one towel the staff apologized and gave us a second one and immediately the next day we got everything double. For me the staff is one of the most important things!

The walls were a little bit thin making it sometimes a little bit noisy when people would come and leave their rooms in the early or late hours but thats fine. Not much you can do about that.
