The central location was perfect, and our family room with a view of the temple was really nice. We were impressed with the high quality of the kitchen: the knives were actually sharp, and the kitchenware (plates, bowls, etc.) was plentiful and thoughtfully chosen. In the bathroom, the Dyson hair dryer was a pleasant surprise. We also appreciated the shared laundry and dryer facilities. The overall atmosphere of the room was modern and welcoming—we felt very comfortable throughout our stay.
One thing we weren’t aware of before booking was the cleaning schedule. The room is only cleaned every three days, and while there is daily towel replacement and trash collection, it would have been helpful to know about the limited cleaning service in advance. We recommend that this be made clearer on the Booking page so that future guests can plan accordingly.

The hotel is very clean, all of the staff spoke fluent English and there are a lot of items available for clients use in the foyer. The room was beautifully laid out and the beds were incredibly comfortable. Very conveniently located and directly across from the temple which has regular markets, so that was a nice surprise.
The only downside is the cost of luggage transfer. The price to send four bags to Tokyo was almost double what it cost me to send the same bags from Tokyo to Osaka. I understand it's a third party arranger and so mark ups are due to be applicable though, but it's something to be aware of. The service associated with it was excellent though and there are no complaints there.

Great location, close to Kyoto station. The loft B has a gorgeous view on the temple. The room is spacious, with a separate toilet. The kitchenette is functional. The dimmable lighting in the living area is a great feature. The staff is very courteous, helpful and friendly. We borrowed an instant camera, paying a fee for the films, a coffee maker and a chess game. You can borrow a good old vinyl player and vinyl discs! The temple is worth the visit, as well as the garden (entrance fee) behind the hotel. If we were to come back, we'll probably try the 2 bedroom suite, not sure if it has the nice temple view, though.
If all 4 bunk beds are used, there is not much space left to access your belongings. We used one bed to let our luggage open so it was accessible. The mattresses were too firm for us, a little better after adding 2 extra comforters under the mattress topper. The couch is also very stiff. We booked the new sister place in Osaka, 30 Pieces Namba, and couldn't transfer our luggage from Kyoto to Osaka with their Tebura-Kun service. We realized the problem only the morning we checked out, and had to carry our luggage, which ruined our plans to transit to Osaka via Nara. Check in advance about Tebura-Kun to be ready to use Takkyubin as a backup option.

The hotel and room were amazing - one of the best hotels we've stayed at before, especially considering the fair price and great location. The staff were all extremely friendly and accommodating. The amenities offered by the hotel - laundry for a small fee, free rental for items you might need, free coffee and tea, etc - all made the stay more enjoyable. The beds were comfortable, the bathroom was clean, the room was spacious and relaxing to come back to after a long day of walking. And of course the location is very convenient. We would not hesitate to book another stay here next time we are in Kyoto. Few places deserve a 10/10 rating but 20 Pieces well deserves it - highly recommend!

The view was definitely the highlight, as you get access to the full panorama view of Higashi Honganji Temple across the road. Other than that, the room itself was spacious and came with all the quintessential amenities. Bunk beds with personal sockets are also great if you are traveling as a group of friends. The staff were extremely helpful and flexible. - Even though the official check-in time was 4pm, we were able to do it way earlier than that since the room was ready. - If you don't need room cleaning, they will give you a box of matcha cookies in lieu, which was very thoughtful. - They can also help you to exchange coins for laundry machines and recommend places to visit & eat. Finally, there is free coffee from 8-12pm, and tea after that, which is cherry on top for an excellent stay.
While towels were replaced daily, water bottles weren't replenished. However, you can request directly at the front desk. The ventilation can also be improved, as we can smell other rooms' cooking from upper floors.

We were wowed by this property. All 4 of us (2 adults to kids 15 & 11) loved the fact that we had our own double bed!! Travelling around Japan can be quite exhausting and so to have your own space at night was wonderful. The bathroom was fabulous! The kids had a water fight in it! The kitchen was super too. The location was absolutely spot on. 5 mins from the main train station so not too far to lug your luggage around and opposite the most fabulous temple. Really was a gem find! Near all restaurants too!
Nothing at all! The free brollies were great for when it was raining!

The property was fantastic! Stylish but also super clean and comfortable, and a good size room for a family of 5 in Japan. Nice shower and bath, comfy beds, really helpful and friendly staff, and our room had a fantastic view of the nearby temple. The staff were always so friendly and helpful and there were lots of great amenities you could either take or rent for free
If I had to say one thing it was a little far out from the main tourist areas of gion etc. That being said we also really liked the location as it was near Kyoto station and also quiet.

We stayed in loft B and in loft D. Loft B was an excellent set up with lovely views of the temple. We really enjoyed it. Loft D was also an excellent setup. The beds were larger than Loft B which was good for our teenagers and there was a door between the living space and bedrooms allowing for different sleep schedules. However, the outlook from loft B was beautiful which made for a great atmosphere.
Lower Beds in Loft D felt more enclosed than loft B and there was no view. The bathroom was next to the beds in loft B so this impacted sleep.

Location was terrific, the hotel was situated a short walk from Kyoto station. From the hotel, there are gorgeous views of the temple across the street. The room was spacious and clean, with modern amenities such as a Dyson hairdryer and humidifier included. The hotel offered a rental service of household appliances which was free of charge. Staff spoke fluent English, which was extremely helpful. Perfect place to stay for our family of four, and we would definitely come back.
Amenities were not restocked daily, which resulted in us having to request for daily refills of tea, pyjamas, tissues, water bottles and bin liners. This was the only downside, hence the 9/10.

The location was perfect with the Higashi Honganji Temple as our main view and that it was less than a 10 min walk from the Kyoto Station. First, I love how the whole hotel is keyless so no need to carry a card to lose. The hotel and rooms are accessed by a code you are given. I love the layout of the room (plan B) and that the bunk beds were bigger than a regular twin. There were 5 of us, so 4 of us took the beds and my son took the couch. The couch was very hard and firm even to sit on let alone lay on. The room was equipped with a mini fridge with a little freezer inside, a microwave, a toaster, a kettle, ports and pans, etc. Anything not in your room can be rented at the lobby, which I love the concept of communal items. They had items from record players, speakers, air fryers, a Polaroid camera, decorations, etc. you name it, they probably had it! If you opt out of a room cleaning free three days, you receive a box of matcha cookies which were delicious! The hotel provides you with bottled water daily, though you can drink straight from the faucet. There is a 7-11 about a block away and a Lawson’s about 3 blocks away. I LOVED the shower! I like how the tub and shower are enclosed separately within the bathroom. The toilet is next door separate from the rest of the bathroom. The only thing that was a hassle was that there wasn’t a mini sink in the toilet room so you’re literally touching the doorknob with dirty hands since you would need to go the next door over to the bathroom. My husband loved the morning coffee and afternoon tea that is served daily. It’s also a big plus that there are two pairs of a washer/dryer. Heads up that the machines only take 100 yen. The washer cost 200 yen per load (5kg max - a bit small) and the dryer is 100 yen for 10 mins. Two loads in the washer was able to fit in one dryer (up to 8kg). It took approximately 20-30 mins to dry.
Maybe providing two pillows to a bed instead of 1 and adding to page in the binder with the fan/heater remote control what the other buttons mean.
