Cleanliness of the room and the facilities, helpful staff for our late check-in (10pm+).

Everything was good, but the space might be a little small for three adults with luggage.

It was near enough to Kyoto station. A 5 to 10 mins stroll and the rooms are clean, with absolutely comfortable beds to rest in.

A pity that the dryer isn’t the hot dryer. Our washed clothes needed more than 24 hours to dry

The room was really functional and had more than we could ask for: equipped kitchen, 3 sinks, bath & shower. There was even a washing machine in the room (although must wash at least 48 hrs before to get dry clothes). The location was great because it was in a very quiet and charming neighborhood and yet only a 10 min walk away to the main train/metro station or bus stops to get around the city and country. Highly recommend.

It would be great if there was a paying drying machine in the building that guests could use to dry the washed clothing. Our clothes were still damp after 48 hrs.

Fantastic little hotel. Staff were great . My wife was a hotel cleaner for years and still has a cleaning company and she was very impressed with the cleanliness of the room . Staff were happy to call us taxis and even talk to the driver to confirm our destination. Would certainly recommend this place. An easy 10 minute walk to Kyoto station and the downtown area .

Nothing really , perhaps the address on booking . Com print out PDF could also be in Japanese as the taxi driver who picked us up from the train station was a bit confused by the address , despite me showing him on google maps

Limited daylight in the room (but not untypical for Japan)

Location was very convenient, close to Kyoto station(8-10min walk), and also to streets where you can get buses to main attractions. The surrounding area is full of restaurants and stores because Kyoto station is a gathering of many shopping malls buildings and underground passageways full of stores. Despite that, the hotel is located in a quiet and silent area. There is an elevator at the hotel so you can have luggage with you. They also provide shampoo, conditioner and body soap besides several other small vanity items and there are some items available at the reception. The apartment is equipped with a sink, a cooktop, a microwave and a fridge that allows you to have some small meals within your own room. The bathroom is small but with separate areas with the toilet with a small sink and the shower/bathtub. The toilet is very comfortable and the bathroom has a heater. There is another sink outside the bathroom also with a mirror and a cabinet. All the access (to Irori and also to the apartments) is made by code (no cards for doors or keys needed)

The rooms are quite small and in our case(3ppl in the same apt) there was not enough space to open up a medium sized luggage. The sink in the cabinet was not draining water properly. We also missed some more hooks inside the bathroom.

Location and convenience

Apparently our sleep was disturbed by someone coming to our room at 10.30pm!! We were shocked and worried the whole night! When we asked the staff the next day, he was nice to checked and came back to tell us that it was a mistake by one of the staff checking on the room? Our thoughts were : why does staff comes in the night to check rooms for at that time? Even though your staff was apologetic and said they will refund a one night stay, we felt that the room could be more secured if they have a ledge for us to lock from inside.

We loved this place, on arrival we were early and they accommodated us with letting us get into our room early which was brilliant! The staff were really helpful and friendly. The room was small but perfectly formed, we had everything we needed including a washing machine which was really useful after travelling for a few days already, we managed to get our washing done and dried in the time we were in Kyoto. The location was near the station so not in the centre of everything but easily within walking/cycling/bus or train distance to the main events. We hired bikes one day from a local shop and cycled to the bamboo grove and golden pavilion.

Hotel IRORI was the first hotel we stayed at in Japan, and it was very clean and pleasant. The room came with a temperature controlled shower, comfortable beds, balcony, microwave, fridge, multiple trash bins (for recycling), a washer/dehydrator, plates, metal utensils, etc. It was practically a fully furnished small apartment. The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful, and they spoke great English. We arrived early in the morning, the staff offered to store our luggage and even bring it to our room when the room was ready. The hotel is only a few minutes walk from the train station, with easy access to convenience stores, shops, and restaurants. We had a great stay and would definitely stay here again.

The laundry machine doesn't dry clothes, we had to hang up the clothes to dry after dehydrating. Not an issue as everything else was perfect!

Well located (10min walk from Kyoto station & a big mall where a supermarket can be found). Confortable beds. Friendly staff: they speak English very well & they helped me to fill in the form to send my luggage with Family Mart (the konbini is less than 1 min away from the hotel)

The washing machine is not really convenient when one has jumpers to wash (small capacity + few hanging space in the room to dry the clothes), but it is perfectly fine if you have to clean t-shirts and underwear. The washing machines of the neighbouring rooms can be heard a bit.
