It was an exceptional property, the staff super kind and friendly. Very good looking, super clean, and truly luxurious. It was very comfortable staying there.

1. For a luxury hotel, the dress code at the bar was a disaster... no one wearing shorts and Birkenstocks should be allowed in a bar late at night, this kills the fabulous decor, and the overall quality of a bar of this level. 2. The gym was fine, but short of Kettlebells, and balance boards to make it perfect. 3. The room's clothing closets aren't really for a couple staying longer than 4 days. 4. There should be the possibility to purchase the Yukata's... this is part of the experience. Staying somewhere for a couple of days and wearing their PJ's is an experience guest would like to take home with. 5. Outdoor facilities (rooftop or terrace) was seriously missing. 6. The rooms could have been planned slightly bigger.

We loved everything about it. First of all, it is a lovely property. The modern look & quality of this hotel & staffs attention to detail make this place closer to a 5 star hotel instead it’s 4 star designation. Not sure why, but we were upgraded to a suite, which was fabulous. My reservation was for 2 king premium garden view rooms. Upon arrival we were greeted at the check in desk with warm towels to wash our hands and were offered delicious tea. And, then they told my husband & I we were upgraded to a suite. Our son had a king room just like I originally booked. Both accommodations were excellent. The hotel is relatively new so everything was in great working order and excellent condition. Food at breakfast buffet was wonderful. We stayed at several hotels in Japan and this had the best breakfast buffet by far. We were there 4 days and could easily choose something different everyday with no problem. Great variety, excellent quality. Staff were very friendly, helpful and professional. The location is in a quiet neighborhood, which we enjoyed. Some may not. But, it was close to the train station and easy to get to all major attractions in Kyoto. All staff we encountered spoke very good English. Very helpful as our Japanese is very limited. Concierge desk was professional & prompt when we made requests. And, very helpful setting up private tours, assisting with great recommendations/reservations for places to eat etc…If they are all like this property, I would stay at a Dusit Thani Hotel anywhere in the world.

Really nothing to complain about except the fact we were there in early part of the week and could not experience the highly regarded Koyo Teppanyaki restaurant on the premises. It is only open latter part of the week.

This hotel is exceptional. We loved it so much that we’ve stayed here twice, and both times were amazing! In addition to having super comfortable accommodations, they also have an excellent gym and pool. And the restaurants are incredible. I had the best espresso martini of my life at the hotel bar and ate the best steak of my life at Koyo restaurant. Service is 10/10, accommodation 10/10, and food 10/10. When we return to Kyoto, we will definitely stay here again. Congratulations and thank you to the team that made it happen, this stay shaped our trip for the better 🙏🏻.

The property is not ideally located but it was lovely and spacious internally and beautifully decorated . The lounge area and bar were great with an excellent happy hour . The rooms were spacious and modern . The beds were super comfortable and the pillows fluffy . Our stay was great because of the staff at concierge who provided us with a tour at short notice and purchased our bullet train tickets upon request . The gallery lounge was welcoming as was the manager and the bar was super cool . We had a lovely massage at the wellness centre. All in all a wonderful experience.

We don’t often stay in ‘nice hotels’ so this was such a treat. The service is truly 5 stars. The hotel itself feels very luxurious through every touch. It was nice to have the swimming pool as being Summer and Aussies, we had missed being able to have a splash. Tattoos needed to be covered up, but it was open all day without reservations which was great compared to other hotels. Our view overlooked a Temple, the Kyoto Tower and some mountains. Room was spacious. Location good, close enough walk to Kyoto station. We didn’t dine onsite.

We did have an issue with the laundry that was resolved. I couldn’t find any information regarding laundry or costings so had called and they sent someone up to collect our laundry bags. The bill ended up being $580 AUD (we were under the assumption it was complimentary) - they did give us heavy discounts however wish our laundry wasn’t accepted without confirming our consent and understanding of the costs involved - I would have instead used a $5 coin laundry.

IT WAS FANTASTIC!!! Everything was so perfect! The staffs were friendly and thoughtful. From the moment we arrived at the hotel, all the warm welcome, nice hot tea served while check-in, to the staff led us to the room and introduced all the facilities, breakfast area, checking the room temperature for you. They took care of all the details. It was far beyond my expectations. My room was a city view room, but it was way better than I expected. The view was facing a park, and the park had a beautiful maple tree out there and it was red leaves maple tree. What a beautiful coincidence! The zen-vibe room paired with the view, it was perfect. That's what I was looking for during the maple tree season when I visited Kyoto. Breakfast was great. Many choices out there. From traditional Japanese food to Western dishes, everything was tasty. You could also order dishes from the menu if you would like. We also went to the swimming pool, that was really nice too. The water temperature was comfortable, the pool was spacious. It also comes with sauna and a hot water tub, which is great for relaxing. I've recommended Dusit Thani to my friends already. It was a really great experience. I will definitely come back! If I travel to other places where there is a Dusit Thani hotel, I would like to stay and experience it again!

Absolutely love the beautiful oriental interior with Kyoto traditional decor elements of the hotel. The room is well set up with great amenities (and a wonderful mini bar), love the bathtub. I slept so well in the room as it is very quiet. If you love Thai massage this hotel will be a plus as they have a Thai spa. Restaurants provide both Japanese & Thai food (and very good). Lounge areas are great comfortable and spacious work areas for meetings. Most of the hotel staff speak English so it was very easy to communicate our needs.

Nothing really

Our stay at the hotel was exceptional. The staff were incredibly friendly and went above and beyond to assist with everything we needed. The room was spacious and comfortable, and the hotel facilities were extraordinary. From check-in to checkout, the service was impeccable. The breakfast was outstanding—easily the best we had in Japan, both in quality and service.

While the hotel’s location near Kyoto Station was convenient for transportation, it was a bit far from the main attractions, requiring extra travel time to reach key sightseeing spots.
