The place was great. Very nice atmosphere, with large cozy living room in authentic homely japanese style. The room was perfect. Very comfy. There are many nice touches and details. The style is homogenous, harmonious and simple. Everything is well organised, pleasant and relaxing.

Unfortunately, we received a poor welcome. The host looked at me with stupor when I entered and enquired if he works here. His reply: "I think so." That sort of stroppy remark already rubbed me the wrong way. It comes off as mocking. Thereafter, he sort of checked us in two hours early but didn't offer to let us into our rooms, so we huddled outside for a while, until he changed his mind. I find this very odd and inhospitable. So I didn't feel welcome there. I have been a superhost on Airbnb myself and I would never treat my guests this way. For this reason, I wouldn't stay there again because he makes me feel unwelcome. Too bad because the place is impeccable otherwise.

Fujitaya BnB provides a truly warm environment. The lovely owners and staff, as well the shared spaces and kitchen amenities create a wonderful atmosphere for families, solo travelers and groups of friends to enjoy a healthy community. It is also a very clean and cozy air bnb with basic amenities in rooms and shared bathrooms. Remember to bring your own toothbrush and. toothpaste, plus slippers. Some group activities are provided occasionally, as well such as the Takoyaki party we enjoyed on my first evening, and yet when alone time is desired, it is honored. I enjoyed myself so much that I extended my stay by two more days! Thank you SO MUCH Fujitaya BnB 💞☺️

We really like the common room, where we can meet and talk with other guests, sharing experiences and places that interesting to visit. We also appreciated the kind gesture of the owners, we arrived in the morning (using night bus),while the check in time is 4pm. We only expect that we can put our luggage, resting in the common room and using the toilet/ bathroom. Surprisingly, they offer us to enter our room, as our room is ready at that time. It really make our life much easier, as my daughters need to take a nap after a night bus from Tokyo. Toilet and bathroom are also very clean. It is easy to go around the city, you can walk to the station or taking bus which is very close to the place as well. Fujitaya gave us the warmth of a home, we definitely will come back again in the future.

The upper bed is too low, sometimes it hit the head, for those who sleep in lower bed.

Hosts are really nice and willing to answer all your questions. More tourist info all around the lobby and even a neighborhood map in the room. Their rental bike is a great option, though bus stop for train station and Kinkakuji is nearby. Fully equipped self service kitchen, all well signed. Great common dining area. Very clean shared bathroom, as well each of the shower cabinets. Posibility to leave your luggage before checkin or after checkout. Convenient store around the corner, supermarkets and many restaurants just a walk away.

Great value room in kyoto. Bnb in the title a bit misleading for us Europeans if you don't look further into it. It's not bed and breakfast! It's a doable walk from 2 local train stations and the buses are dirt cheap! Buses stop almost at the door.

Nothing bad really. Heating worked a treat. We knew beforehand about the shared bathrooms and communal seating areas so that was ok. Bed was comfy. Showers were good.

Place is amazing. Good atmosphere created by the owners and the staff girls who work in the place. Shared areas are really comfortable and you can both enjoy time for yourself such as sharing a nice conversation with other guests. Plenty of people from all over the world, Fujitaya added really something to our Kyoto stay. Rooms were simple and nice, and shared toilets and showers were so clean and comfortable that you forget are shared! We will return for sure when in Kyoto. The place also offer many services from laudry to kitchen use. We, as bikers, loved the bike rental service!

Nice and welcoming hosts. I loved that they offered the sento set to rent for free! <3 I is also really cool that they organized a cooking evening for the guests to spend time together (I unfortunately couldn't participate). Room was spacious and clean! Good price - quality ratio.

The location could be a bit better- however if you don't mind commuting on a bus a lot, you'll be fine :) If you're sensitive to children being loud - this might be problematic (children running around and being children:))

Loved it there! Really super sweet and helpful staff! They will do their very best to make you feel at home! Hostle with a cool Vibe! Would love to come again! Nothing to complain! Loved it and only can recommend this place!

The bathroom is great. Staff is great (family flair). Supermarket is very close and the bus station too. The common area is japanese style, so tables are low. Nice, but unusual for westerners.

The kitchen was somehow a mess. Full of stuff and sometimes not very clean. But it had everything we needed to cook a decent meal. Bedroom is tiny and my friend slept on the futon, which is pretty hard if you're not used to it.

Nice rooms and facilities in general. Welcoming staff, great tips. We rended a bike and went all around kyoto, very nice experience. Check out the tiny takoyaki shop on the main road 300m east, easy to miss but it's a gem.

The bicicles they rent are pretty bad, even though we were happy with the overall experience. The atmosphere was a bit cold in out experience, it didn't feel very sociable even though the common areas are very nice.
