Beautiful modern well designed hotel. Hotel, rooms and bathroom are new, updated, spacious and very comfortable. Touches in room make it very comfortable. Teapot, water, slippers, robe. Onsite spa was wonderful. Breakfast is excellent. Right next to station one stop from main Kyoto station. On JR train line directly to eastern Kyoto tourist sites.

The location is not central to most tourist attractions. There are no metro lines or bus lines that go direct to most tourist areas. Had to switch lines or walk about 10 minutes for a direct bus line. Area around hotel is safe, but very little going on in terms of restaurants and supermarkets.

This place was incredible! Couldn't ask for more, the rooms were big, the beds were comfy, the bathrooms were great. Everyone was so friendly and helpful and very clean and modern. Also the price was very reasonable for what we got. We kept thinking wow I can't believe we could afford this place since it was cheaper than some hostel's we stayed at in Tokyo. Also the roof terrace was beautiful ❤️ and there are 24hr vending machines downstairs with drinks, snacks, ice cream and beer which we used all the time. Also the room had a large TV with YouTube and a ton of info about the hotel. Like there's a channel that shows which washing machines are available and how long they have left til they're finished which was super useful Also it would play these bgm tracks that we thought were really funny.

The only thing was we couldn't use the public bath because they don't allow tattoos, which was disappointing because we didn't see this information anywhere but the private bathroom in the hotel room still had a very large bathing room and a very big deep tub so that worked for us.

This is our second stay at Emion Kyoto, and like the last time it was perfect. - Location: located only 1 station from the central Kyoto Station, which made our travel very convenient. Walkway with roof directly connects to the train station. Quiet neighborhood. - There are several restaurants in the building. We tried 3 of them and all are very good. - 7Eleven next to building. - Neighborhood coin laundry 7 minute walk away. - Decent sized room, very clean. Comfy beds. Clean bathroom with bathtub. - Breakfast is really good. There were a lot of choices and great quality. We enjoyed the breakfast very much! - The staffs were very friendly and helpful, always with smiles.

The hotel's coin laundry is expensive (compared to service outside), and you have to spend a long time in queue.

Hotel Emion Kyoto was a superb experience. Probably one of the nicest hotels I’ve ever been to and for a reasonable price. The room was big enough for four people with a large bathroom as well. The hotel’s breakfast was delicious and full of options (our breakfast was not included since we only had it one of the mornings we were there). They cleaned our rooms everyday and restocked the towels and hygiene products as well as the pjs they provided. The hotel is right next to a train station and includes an onsen! Staff were helpful in providing us change to do our laundry as well. ALSO a really beautiful and scenic rooftop with seating and nice views!

I was sad I was unable to use the onsen in the hotel because of my tattoos but I understand tattoos are not widely accepted in Japan. The location also didn’t have a lot to offer in terms of things to do but there was an aquarium and park nearby. We only saw the park and it was very green + pretty. It is one stop away from the Kyoto station which was nice but also not as close as being a walk away from Kyoto station. We didn’t mind that too much though.

The quadruple room we stayed in was quite spacious in comparison to other hotel rooms we experienced. Location being near the train station as well as an adjacent 7/11 convenient store made the stay really easy and enjoyable. The hotel neighborhood also felt safe enough to explore/walk early morning and late evening hours.

Wished hotel had offered a reasonably priced general breakfast, not a fancy buffet but something that is inexpensive that we could add to our stay...unfortunately we did not see this offered by the hotel. Or another option would be to offer guests some form of a "happy hour" to showcase the different foods offered within the hotel...this would be a standout and boost guest loyalty/referrals.

Good location: Just one station away (or a 25-minute walk) from the JR Kyoto Station. The hotel is about a block from the JR Umekōji-Kyōtonishi Station on the JR Sagano Line (the same line that takes riders to the Arashiyama Bamboo Grove). It is also close to the Kyoto Aquarium, which is near a bus stop to catch a number of buses to major tourist areas (e.g., Downtown Kyoto, Gion, and Kinkaku-ji/Golden Pavilion). The hotel lobby is on the 3rd floor. The lower floors have restaurants and shops, including a shop that sells traditional sweets. There is a 7-Eleven next door, as well as a bakery and a ramen shop a bit farther down the street. Excellent breakfast: We were big fans of the buffet! Pork curry, a cold eggplant dish, corn soup, fresh tofu, juicy oranges and other fresh fruits, matcha-dusted mochi with brown sugar syrup, etc. were all favorites. The staff were unfailingly polite, and one member in particular exuded warmth and made us feel welcome every morning. Spacious, clean, and quiet room. Comfortable beds. Nice pajamas. Thoughtful to provide tote bags to guests, especially those who take advantage of the public bath.

Nothing comes to mind.

Everything has been excellent. The staff has always been very friendly with us, since the first moment: they kept our luggage, they recommended us how to move around the city and they sent our luggage to the next hotel. The breakfast was awesome, and it was the best out of all the hotels we visited in Japan. It included both Western and Asian options. It also has many restaurants inside the hotel, and there is amazing Onsen (warm bath). Moreover, it is next to the fish market, where it is possible to access through a sidewalk from the hotel and it has a free entrance. Finally, the location is pretty close to Kyoto station (1 stop by train ~10 minutes). If I had to stay again in Kyoto, I would definitely stay again in Emion Kyoto Hotel.

It is a little bit far from Gion and the typical traditional streets in Kyoto. In any case, there is a train station next to the hotel, so this is not a big issue.

Clean, good space and very friendly staff. Perfect location just 200 meters from JR local train station, on the same line as the stations close to Bamboo Forest, Golden Temple and the Kyocera Sanga Stadium. Also just one (3 min) stop from Kyoto Station. Quiet area. First two floors of the building have a small shopping mall with restaurants.

Worth noting is that since its a less intense area of Kyoto theres is not a wide range of ”open late” restaurants (including the ones at level 1) around the hotel. If you arrive later than 21,00 you might have to trust the 7/11 next door for your evening snack.

My family of four (two tweens) stayed in the superior quadruple which was perfect. The beds were so comfortable and we had enough room for three nights. Public transport in Kyoto was easy - we were one local train stop away from the Shinkansen arrival and an easy bus into the main area of Kyoto. We were a little far away from the bustle (where I usually like to stay) but we didn’t feel inconvenienced and we like to walk. We had landed to doing the Disney’s so we didn’t mind the slower pace. It is a quiet area though. Good coffee in easy reach and a 7/11 next door. Two of us couldn’t use the onsen but we didn’t mind. Oh and the facial products provided were a bonus.

It was big enough for our family of 6, with young kids too. We stayed in a quadruple room and found it was spacious enough for our length of stay. It was clean and comfortable. Loved that it was close to the train station which is a stop away from main bustling Kyoto station. It was quiet where we were which made it comfortable for us. The public onsen was amazing! I love that they had a separate one for women only too, and it was so clean. Laundry room with coin operators came in handy. There are shops and restaurants nearby too with 7/11 30seconds away.

Nothing to fault but we did expect some help from staff to take our luggage up to our room. We had to do it ourselves using their trolley.
