The location was great, walking distances to bus stop and two subway stations. Kyoto station is less than 1 km away. The room was always kept clean, even when we did not request for room make-up they will still provide you with fresh towels, water bottles and other amenities. The staff were always nice, greeting us on our way out/in. There are two convenience stores nearby, easy walk for a quick snack or shop. They have two washing machines and two dryers, you only need a 100 yen coin for each machine and you will get your clothes fresh, clean, and dry. You can also borrow an iron if you need one. They also provide microwave, water dispenser, and ice dispenser in the common area. And I like how the neighborhood is quiet and not crowded.

The lightings in the room. Either keep all the lights on (except for the lightings in the hallway, you can turn it off) or all lights are off. I am not comfortable with total darkness while sleeping, so I would like to keep one light on. Unfortunately the lighting system in the room can not provide that.

The (two person) room was so spacious with a tv, sofa, table, large desk, and very comfortable beds. There was even a bench just by the door to put your shoes on and/or leave your stuff. Everything was very spacious, actually, from the lobby/art gallery to the bar/restaurant with lots of tables where you can just hang out whenever. There's a convenient laundromat, vending machines, and ice machine right by the elevators. The breakfast was very nice with lots of options and sandwiches of the day. The staff were super cute and friendly.

Small things really. The location is a little bit out of the way. It's not too bad getting there because it's fairly close to the Kyoto train station but the actual area around the hotel is kind of desolate. Walking to the nearest subway station isn't too bad but it's, again, a bit of a walk. Other than that, I found that the smoking room was too close to the hallway and it reeked of cigarette smoke. Lastly, while the breakfast was top notch, it didn't have bread slices, cheese or ham, and other (admittedly more western) breakfast foods, which I personally kind of missed.

The lobby and common areas of the hotel are really neat and well-maintained with some cool art & features like the printer, speaker and arcade game. The rooms are decent for Japanese standard and the bathrooms had great water pressure. The beds were comfortable and the added desk in the room was a great feature. There was enough space to have my luggage open on the floor as well. The staff were friendly and helpful.

The location of the hotel felt a bit distant from some of the action of Kyoto. It would often require a bus or subway ride for 20-30mins to get somewhere. The breakfast wasn't amazing and despite them asking for you to choose a timeslot, when I arrived there wasn't much food left in the buffet. The rooms weren't soundproof and I could often here guests coming past, closing their doors or talking in the hallway.

The staff are excellent and if you require it are able to speak in English. The bed was comfy. PJs, toothpaste, toothbrush, soap, shampoo, conditioner and even a body sponge were all available in the room. Other free amenities were available (a single use razor for example) in the lobby to take if you need. While there is a bar on the first floor it isn't noisy at all, the area is also quiet even being close to Kyoto Station. The AC took a minute to find as it's behind the head of the bed and there's a tall lip blocking its immediate view (I'm not putting this in the "what didn't you like" section because this is not a complaint, just a fact)

Industrial chic style, with comfortable rooms. (For those with mobility challenges, be aware that the beds are at floor level.) Additional toiletries available in the reception, including bath salts. You can also get a voucher for the nearby public bath. The hotel has bicycles and even umbrellas available. Quiet neighbourhood. Kyoto Station is a 15-minute walk away, and the Kujo metro station is a bit closer than that. The hotel has an art gallery on the ground floor, which hosts exhibitions and concerts. Friendly, helpful staff.

Everyday that we requested our room not be made up, housekeeping left a bag outside our door with a new set of towels, toiletries, everything, which was unnecessary.

We loved this little gem despite the tiny room. The vibe was so friendly, and warm. The reception staff were so kind and generous. They helped us with a few words of Japanese too! For us the location was perfect - south of the station rather than north where all the 'action' is. It felt like living in Kyoto like a local. The restaurants the hotel recommended were carefully chosen and excellent. We had dinner at 3 within a few minutes walk. All were amazing especially the Ramen one! Bed was very comfortable, the room spotlessly clean.

Like most hotels in Japan the rooms are the size of pocket handkerchiefs!

- 10 mins walk to Kyoto station, was quite convenient when we wanted to save on transport. - Room was clean and cozy

- Room was quite small, minimal walking space after opening 2 luggages. - There was additional tourist tax/day to be paid at the reception during check-in (~200Y/pax/day). Was not aware that there was additional charges on top of the 10% VAT when making the reservation.

Cheap, close to Kyoto station and subway. Staff were excellent and went above and beyond to assist with hotel equipment. The hotel's common facilities were very artistic and well-decorated (I wish this applied to the rooms too haha). Cleaning staff were also excellent and emptied my trash every day.

I know it's a budget hotel so I got what I paid for. The hotel room, while being comfortable, was very dorm-like so after two nights, I actually moved hotels (note: this is just my personal preference and I am sure others would be perfectly happy with a dorm vibe). While the location was close to Kyoto station etc, I felt that the actual location (not the hotel's fault) didn't really have much of a vibe so I ended up moving to a more vibrant ward like Nakagyo.

We really enjoyed our stay here. We arrived before check in & went out for the day, when we came back our bags were taken to our room for us & the rooms were cleaned daily. The bed was comfortable & loved being in a traditional styled room. Would recommend :)

Even though the air conditioning was on, the room didn’t get particularly cold so had to open the window for cooler air, but this isn’t the end of the world. The location was fine but slightly out of the centre, a couple of stops on the metro or a 20 minute walk, again, not the end of the world :)

Love love that it’s also an art space! It’s so bright and open and it doesn’t feel like a typical hotel. Location is great, and quiet. It’s in walking distance to Kyoto station as well as 2 other subway stations. The room size was great for 1 person, I had space to open my cabin luggage on the luggage rack and still had space to walk around. There’s also a working area with a sofa and table next to the bed. The bed is large and the pillow is double sided, love the buckwheat husks and I slept really well. They also have bath tubs and salts available to use in the bath, which is really convenient as I’m unable to head to public bath houses due to tattoos. The staff were really helpful and friendly too
