We have been thoroughly impressed by this property! Every detail was EXCELLENT! Yutaka was an exceptional host and just a wonderful person! We felt bad because our Japanese is terrible and Yutaka was great at communicating with us in English. The apartment is clean and modern - everything you need is available - from washer/dryer to iron, and hot water kettle. I wish we stayed longer! The entire experience made us feel welcomed and cozy! I did not want to leave! The location is amazing and everything was walkable to important landmarks where we took photos of the temples, to restaurants that fill our belly with such savory meals.

Very minor: no paper towels in the kitchen. Also there is only 1 trash receptacle (located in the kitchen) for the whole apartment so each time I had something to throw away from the bathroom, I had to go to the kitchen.

This is a fantastic apartment in Kyoto's old town, just a few minutes walk from the amazing Kiyomizu-dera temple and the ancient streets like Sannenzaka, yet in a quiet spot. The beds were so comfy - better than any hotel I have ever stayed in (including five-star ones,) and the bathroom was new and high-tech. The host Yutaka was so friendly and helpful and speaks excellent English. I would recommend this accommodation to anyone.

The apartment is amazing but it might not be for you if you like being in the heart of things at night. Because the temple and the nearby shops close at 6pm ish the immediate area is very quiet in the evenings. We liked it that way - we just watched Netflix as we were so tired from sightseeing. Gion is about a 25 minutes walk away if you do want a busy area with restaurants etc

I absolutely loved this property. If you are confused on where to stay, stay here. I usually book a fancy hotel after long flights, but this was even better. The beds were extremely comfortable with the fluffiest duvet blankets. The shower was amazing Japanese style, large tub, wet room and all the hot water you could need. A small kitchenette for comfort and space to hang coats, place shoes, even a little couch and table for eating. The heat worked great and you can open the window if needed . The place was brand new with zero wear and tear. The owner met us on arrival and showed everything and gave lots of recommendations. He was very nice. It is on a quiet side street but right next to temples so you can walk up early AM . Im so happy I chose to stay here

The hotel is literally on the same hill leading up to Kiyomizudera Temple. It’s maybe a 5 minute walk. The location couldn’t be more ideal if you want to have easy access to Kiyomizudera and the Pagoda. We got a room with two double beds and we slept like babies. The beds are so comfortable and the blankets are soft and fluffy. We had a microwave, mini fridge and a hot plate in the room, but we didn’t cook anything. The shower and toilet are in separate rooms which is wonderful when you’re traveling in a group. My mom has a hard time with stairs, and there is an elevator in the building! The shower and bathtub are fantastic!!! 10/10 highly recommend you take a shower then soak in the tub after a long day of sightseeing. The manager, Yutaka, was very kind. We were arriving on the train around 9pm and he waited for us and really took his time showing us how to use the air conditioner remote control , tv, the temperature controller for the shower and bathtub. (Did I mention that the bathtub is separate from the shower? Again 10/10!) We came home to fresh towels every night after sightseeing all day. Also, it was raining our last day there and he carried an umbrella over my mom and walked us down the road to get a taxi. Truly a kind and generous person and we were very sad to leave. I highly recommend this hotel!

Everything was excellent!

The hotel / apartment was great. All we needed was there, and the receptionist gentleman was awesome. And he was there to help / address all of our needs. Totally great! Will definitely be my hotel whenever visiting Kyoto again.

Difficult to locate when you are arriving at night and the main street outside is somewhat traditional, so spotting a drop off point by taxi is tricky. But hey, google maps will help and taxi drivers in this city will do an extra mile to help you out. With the help of google maps before hand, familiarise the street image and you will spot it easily once you get there.

We were very impressed with the property. It had a spacious layout, a well-equipped kitchen, a comfortable and very large bathroom, as well as cozy beds and futons. The host was very helpful, recommending restaurants and pointing out the best attractions on the map. The location is right next to Kiyomizudera and very close to other temples and the Gion district. Getting to other parts of the city was easy via buses or the train (after a 15-minute walk).

The host greeted us personally and made checkin procedures smooth and swift. he also gave us a quick overview of the area with some expert tips. Apartment was amazing, it was the only kitchen in the whole of Japan who had a toaster-oven, which was great for breakfast. everythign was as per pictures and description if not nicer. Very spacious. amazing location in a quiet side road, close to one of the main shrines to visit. super quiet and relaxing and super clean. Best stay in Japan.

the only thing that could be said is that the main windows looked out at a wall, but it was still very bright. it didnt bother us at all.

Location was excellent. On the first night we visited the Kiyomizu-dera twice for the illumination. The first time was ridiculously busy but because we were so close went back again about 8:30ish and it was so much better. Really close to lots of great spots. Yutaka the host was great. He was very informative, good English and booked us into a brill teppanyaki restaurant. Beds were very comfortable. Would definitely stay here again.

The windows looked out onto a wall but enough light and we were rarely in the room except for sleeping.

Everything. Yutaka is a very kind host ! He makes you feel very comfortable and it was very nice to share talks with him. We will remember him for sure 😊 The apartment was very comfortable, we had all the stuff we need ! It's also very well located : you will enjoy temples and old traditional area by night or early in the morning without a crowd thanks to this very well located apartment. It's a very peaceful place by night. Bus stop is 5 mins walk. 20 minutes bus away from Kyoto station. Everything was great, don't hesitate to book there for your Kyoto trip !

The room we rent was spacious. A good break from tight/cramped hotel room. It has complete amneties and they proceed our requests via booking.com accordingly. The bed is comfortable. The kitchen easy to use. The bathroom is spacious. Numbered key make it easier to go in and out without worrying u drop the key somewhere. mr Yutaka the host help us so much there. His hospitality is impeccable. His English is superb. Kiyomizudera is just several steps away so u can beat the crowd to see the most popular spot in Kyoto. From Kyoto station it's only abt 2 km away, taxi will only cost u 1500-1300 yen / ride. Very helpful if ure travelling with big luggage (Kyoto doesn't allow big luggage on crowded bus)

Location only 8 minute walk from kiyomizudera temple, ninnenzaka & sannenzaka. But it's uphill and u need to go downhill to pickup taxi. Bus stop is the closest public transportation, while subway station is quite a walk away. If ure travelling with elderly u might need to consider this. But other than that this is one of the best spot in Kyoto. Some ppl said the pillow is too soft and I found out it's somewhat true, but fold the pillow and it's solved.
