I really liked how the bathroom and toilet was separated. The bed was nice. It looked good, there was what we needed. We even recieved a coupon for a drink and a snack in the bar that's connected, unfortunately we didn't get to use it, but it was our plan and what a nice thing! ☺️ there was also a mini fridge with 2x bottled water. There was a kettle and 2 teabags and for 2 cups of coffee 😁👌🏻 we felt very welcomed ! It was pretty close to Niko castle and not too far from the golden Temple.

I didn't like how heavy the doors to the bathroom and bath was, it looks sleek but were a little hard to like. The light wasn't great for doing ones makeup because it came from above you, but that is a very small thing 😁

Excellent stay, I loved my stay here at Material, the hotel is incredibly beautiful and comfortable. The beds are amazing, loved the jacuzzi with very warm water, everything was just exceptional, would love to return to this hotel. Totally recommend if you want a stay in Kyoto.

I loved everything, just a suggestion on the main bathroom adding a bigger trashcan.

This was the most comfortable place we stayed in Japan. Honestly, one of the most comfortable hotels ever. Beds were super comfy, staff were very nice. It was small, but you don’t need much because you’re barely there. There’s a lot of food places close by and multiple markets and convenience stores

The only thing I didn’t like was that it was much farther from everything than I thought, but there were multiple bus stops near by which made it easy to commute.

The staff was very helpful and answered my questions online promptly without fuss. The facilities were great and the rooms were big.

It will be better if there could be staff stationed for a longer period of time physically everyday for easier communication. It was also quite a distance to walk from the nearest train station.

Excellent location, close to transit and stores. Staff was excellent! Nice onsen & appreciate the spices and olive oil in kitchen.

Sirens due to hospital nearby, but with windows closed, it was minimal.

Staff were great, bar tender was knowledgeable and friendly. Accomodation was very comfortable and felt secure, really enjoyed our stay. We were approx. 20min on subway from Kyoto station, however the location was still in reasonable proximity to restaurants, shops and landmarks and transport was very accessible and easy to use.

We love the room layout for room 501. The lady at the front desk was so nice that she cleaned our room by herself! We’d come back!

We found lots of papers and trash from previous guests under the sofa. So we guess they don’t clean the room properly. I wish they can clean the room everyday.

The setup of the floors were really spacious and accommodating to our group. Everything was clean and what we expected.

I wish staff was on site for more hours than just the 3-8 PM timeframe.
