The location is great, right next to the Imperial Palace, the metro, several bus stops, and several cafes and restaurants. There are also several convenience stores nearby. The hostel was mostly empty, we rarely met any other people. The room was clean and well-maintained. There is a laundry room downstairs with coin-operated washing machines and driers. The location is quiet.

We could use more electrical outlets for charging phones and other electronics. The music in the lobby is annoying.

Really appreciated how responsive the host/owner was to our queries. The place was also in a very accessible location with a train station less than 5 mins away. The room was clean and the facilities were well maintained. The mattress on the double deck could have been a bit thicker though for comfort. The availability of a washer and dryer made washing our clothes easy and convenient. There was also an elevator which was great for us with our heavy luggage bags. Lastly having a self check-in made arrival and departure hassle-free. All in all, a commendable place and we wouldn't hesitate to book here again.

I didn’t realise it was shared bathroom however that’s likely My fault when booking, saying that, we didn’t see another person while staying and the bathroom was right opposite our room. Rooms are small however standard for Japan

We stayed 2 nights before switching hotels, and honestly wish we had spent the whole trip in Kyoto there. It was a very clean, and the room was spacious. Very practical check in system as well.

The only downside is that we were a bit further from the Center compared to other accommodations, but the transport system is so amazing in Japan that it was no problem.

Front door was sometimes left open. Someone in a different room was playing with the door/lock for an hour, so loud and annoying!
