Great location. Room is decent size for Kyoto. Easy to store luggage when arriving early or departing late.

The unstaffed front desk means everything is done with online forms, which aren't always very clear (optional items turn out to be non optional), so a bit of hassle to get keys. The online chat was helpful and responded quickly though. The room was unfortunately filled up with stuff like a fan, air purifier, heater (on top of build in aircon), large desk and even a shoe polish machine, so there was barely any space left for suitcases or people.

I really liked the fast check-in and fast checkout, the cleaning, the possibility of renting bicycles and also the kindness and thoughtfulness of the staff. Also the location was great.

I think it would be better to change the way breakfast is served, it is better to be free to be able to go to breakfast at the time you prefer without having to wait for someone to bring it to your room. And then I would recommend a more varied breakfast, for Westerners the bento is not exactly the breakfast they would expect. Or at least describe more clearly what the breakfast is like in the hotel description in order to avoid surprises during your stay.

Room is clean. People are nice. Good location that is very close to a huge beautiful garden = Kyoto Imperial Palace. Walking south there are supermarket, resturants around Marutamachi. Easy to call taxi using Taxi GO, or use subway, or use bus.

We had a communication problem when check-in. This hotel is self-check-in and it is my first time booking it. I booked a room for my friend using booking.com. However, dispite the confirmation emails came to my email address, the important email about the door code and how to get room card, was sent to some random-generated guest email address by booking.com. And I do not know whether I did something wrong or what I can do to fix it. Eventually I have to phone call the hotel staff in Japanese and ask them to resend the email so I can help my friend enter the room. A little bit panic.

The room was well appointed , clean and the triple room that we booked was adequate for our family. We especially liked the pyjamas proived for our use. The replacement towels are readily available for exchnage at our convenience & need. We love the loction as it is just beside the Kyoto Imperial Garden which we thoroughly enjoyed. One point to note for those with car rentals to book the parking lot upon booking the hotel as there are only 3 lots right in front of the hotel. Overall experience it fantastic.

The check-in process after understanding and readinf the email is seamless. But please highlight the check-in procedure more prominently and that is the only way to get our keys to the room. Small issue but can be frustrating after looking forward to the comfort of the room after a long journey.

It was clean and had many amenities including foot massager in the room. Found a fabulous French pattiserie for breakfast 5 mins walk away. Station was 6 mins walk.

Self check in. No one really at properly that spoke English. So communication was via email . Sending light at entrance which came on by every time you went near and as it was a small space it came on often . When it’s middle of the night and you needed to go to bathroom it was too bright.

Being close to the park is a win. We stayed for two nights at Jisco and both morning we visited the park. The residents walk their dogs in the morning and it was very tranquil. The neighborhood is very quiet. The kitchen on the hotel is spacious and all equipment are in good condition. You only need to buy basic stuff like salt, oil, butter etc which you can get within 10min walk to the 24hour supermarket. Highly recommend to fry the tempura (squid, prawn, dumplings) it was so good! Also, for checking in. I suggest to come out from the front building of Kyoto station, the reception is only 200m. If you were from the back, you will need to go through some uphills if you are walking (15min). I bring my 1 y/o kids with me so i am very grateful with their reception having a kid play area and the free shuttle bus to the hotel. They have staff at the hotel too, and he is very accommodating. We lost our son shoes during check in (Kyoto station) , and the staff able to find and bring to the hotel in an hour (maybe coincidental) but i am forever grateful for their hospitality :)

The room might be small for western/europe person, but for an asian it is fairly okay.

Great Rooms Lovely toilet - best one out of the 4 we stayed in (warm toilet seats and functioning bidet!!) They provide slippers and PJs Hairdryer was a really nice feature The beds were comfortable Good location EXCEPTIONAL customer service. Resi stay went above and beyond for my friend. He forgot his JR Pass in England and so his brother in law posted it to the hotel. By the time it arrived, we had left Kyoto for other cities and so contacted to see if Resi Stay could tear up the JR pass as instructed for the refund. Members of Resi Stay worked really hard to help us and took several moments of the day to double check and update us on the situation. I’ll forever be grateful to Resi Stay, they made our trip to Japan a pleasurable one.

The overall location is right next to the Kyoto National Garden, and close to the Marutamachi station. The room was exceptionally clean with comfortable beds. The foot massager was a very nice touch after a long day of sghtseeing. The bento breakfast boxes were exquisite. The shared microwave on each floor was also useful.

The check-in arrangement was very cumbersome. It was our first experience of extensive travelling where check-in was not at the hotel (rather at a counter at the Kyoto station). We turned up at the hotel and sat around confused until we received the instruction email late. Luckily a guest let us in, and we had to email the counter for the room number and swipe card (in which some of the information was incomplete).

Was good location and could visit all Kyoto places with train or busses. Some convince stores was also nearby for quick snacks or breakfast. Had all good amenities with comfortable room.

They can maybe provide an access to the garbage can (common space) as there's no other place to throw trash if you aren't doing room service during your short stay.
