Staff was accommodating and they did a great job. The location for the price is quite good value...near Kyoto station had plenty of combinis nearby and some great shopping and easy access to food. Kyoto station is huge so sort of on the far west end plus some, but with a stroller the young kids didn't mind. The rooms were very large and the kids loved the tatami area. Comfortable for us and our luggage and stoller. Very quiet could barely tell there were other tenants. Also great access to water and ice any time, and the amenities provided (and large bathrooms) are awesome.

Cleaning every 3 days, the cleaning is so so. More like just change towels and trash only. Also only one washer+dryer in one that can maybe do 3kg of laundry and not too effective/bumps with other tenants. There's a Laundromat about a 2-3 block walk tho (not 24 hr tho). Also pillows are a little hard. The tiniest of nitpicks.

The front desk staff was extremely welcoming and also helpful in terms of restaurant recommendations. The room was very cute and surprisingly spacious, we loved it. We loved the tatami living room sitting area with cushions and a nice lower table. Thank you for the kind hospitality.

There was a bit of hair under the living room table that wasn't ours and to us a bin next to the toilet would have been nice since the toilet and bathroom aren't connected, but these were minor things to us.

Lovely and clean interior. There is 1 washing machine which washes and dries.

I absolutely loved Rinn Kyoto Station West. The room was incredibly spacious, very clean and comfortable. The toilet and bathroom are separated and spacious. The hotel provides you with all the utilities you may need such as washing machine, ice and water machine, microwave, umbrellas, and amenities. It’s a 10-15 minutes walk from Kyoto Station so it is very conveniently located. The staff was very professional, helpful and kind, they helped us send our luggage to our next hotel very easily. They also offer to keep your luggage when you arrive early before check-in, so that was very useful. The staff is also extremely responsive on Booking’s messages. Overall it was my favorite hotel I stayed at in Japan. Be careful not to get this hotel confused with their other facility which is also at Kyoto Station. Some other guests went here by mistake but the staff helped call a taxi to take them to the other hotel.

The deluxe twin room is suitable for a family. The room is large in Kyoto, Japan, and has a high cost-effectiveness. There are not many rooms, and the environment is basically quiet. It is about 13-15 minutes' walk from Kyoto Station.

As a personal preference, I feel that the yellow light source in the room is darker, but at least I won’t be woken up by the sunlight in the morning.

The two bedroom setup didn't work particularly well for our family of four. There was no separate living room to relax in. The second bedroom was setup to be the "living room", it had a TV and a coffee table but no sofa. It looked as though you were supposed to roll up the futons and sit on cushions ?? We could also hear trains but it didn't bother us.

The room size is really nice, it's clean, homey, feels japanese. No housekeeping (every 3 nights) but you can asked for garbage collection, change of towel and extra amenities are provided in lobby and it's kinda like an exclusive hotel with only 6 room for each floor so it fell really nice. There's a window in the room and if you close it, it's really soundproof inside eventhough it's noisy outside. I like how there's somekind of mosquitos net outside the window so I feel safe opening the windows everyday.

The location is actually quite far from the station and the road is quite deserted at night. Better to take the front road near big street rather than the back road which pass the rihga hotel but it's walkable with large suitcases from Kyoto Station. The AC, I don't know why I can't setup the AC to cooling mode only. It's on automatic mode so at first night the room become so hot, the second night the room is so cold. Maybe giving a manual on how to operate the AC The step in laundry room. We almost fell twice on that step because we forgot.

Fantastic property - I’ve stayed at a number of Rinn locations, and thoroughly enjoyed many of them. This location was no exception! Lovely to have the tatami area, and a generally comfortable room. Good bathroom and great to have access to things like chilled water, etc downstairs.

The only negative was the sound travelling between floors - we stayed on the second floor and unfortunately could hear the thudding of footsteps from the third floor constantly. This is more a guest issue of course, but a little frustrating when trying to sleep.

We had booked the Standard Family Room for a group of 3, and it was incredibly spacious and clean. We had room to lay out all of our suitcases without having to constantly step around them, which made packing so much quicker. There are two regular beds, and a large tatami mat area with a table, cushions, and 2 sets of futons. The beds were super comfortable and I'm told the futon was great as well. Japan does not really have breakfast restaurants, so it was nice having a table area where we could eat our breakfast from the convenience store. The hotel also has an amenity shelf in the lobby where you can grab extra towels, toothbrushes, washcloths, q-tips, etc. They also have a water machine and a pitcher provided for you to fill up! This was my favorite perk because it meant we did not have to go to the convenience store every day to buy the large liters of water. The bathroom is split into a sink/toilet area and the actual shower area and separated by a door. The water pressure is great and the sink was pretty spacious and could fit a lot of our toiletries and products. All the hotel staff we interacted with were super helpful and could speak and understand English. They helped us with luggage forwarding and were overall lovely. The area around the hotel is quiet and residential. The main Kyoto Station is around 10 minutes walk away. There's several convenience stores nearby, and two large malls within walking distance as well. Overall this was a great stay for us and I would highly recommend booking here.

While having an on-site coin laundry is convenient, we found the machine to be a little lacking. There is only one, and because it's a washer AND dryer in one machine, the clothes do not come out fully dry the first time. We found that we had to run a second dry cycle because the clothes were still damp.

The combi of 2 normal beds and two futons in the spacious family room was great, the kids (21yo &18yo) loved the futons and the semi Japanese interior of the room. The bathroom was beautiful and spacious too, if only they had hooks for hanging the towels after use it would have been perfect. We arrived early and were able to check in, so that was a great note too. Distance to the Kyoto station was as described (10 mn walk), so we were prepared no surprises. Lots of supermarkets (Lawson and 711) and diners/bars on the way to the station, very convenient.

Nothing really, but if we must mention: The hotel is located in a rather quiet street, my son saw a wanderer sleeping on a bench in the park we had to cross and intentionally waited for me as I fell a little bit behind on our way back to the hotel around midnight. So its maybe less comfortable for single female travellers. Also usually the futons are prepared by the staff while guests are out during the afternoon (experiences from our previous stays in other JP traditional hotels). Now we were told we had to made the futons up ourselves, not a big problem (the kids had fun doing it) just a side note
