Easy checking in process… we received the code on the morning of arrival and it allowed access to the lobby and room. It is minimally staffed but that suited us. The twin room was a good size for the two of us, it was clean and well stocked with coffee and tea making facilities. The en suite was also very clean. The towels were changed every day and bins emptied. It was simple but perfect for what we needed…a comfortable bed and a shower after a long day of walking! Not a criticism but advice….eat before you return to the hotel as not much around the hotel although there is a convenience store nearby.

We enjoyed our stay at HALE! It was central, close to transport, and clean. All required facilities were available to us. Would recommend this hotel to others.

While the QR code access system is great, we did get locked out of the apartment building and then our room. The staff were prompt at assisting us to rectify the issues. However, is not ideal especially at night in an unfamiliar environment, an alternative key would be a good thing to implement.

There is no provided breakfast , but the good automatic coffee machine and coffee is provided. The location is less than 10 min walk from Kyoto station, and very close to Toji temple. The room is very clean and comfort.

There is no convenient store nearby. You need to do online check in, since there is no one will help at the lobby. It's self check in hotel. Make sure that you have smartphone and internet.

Clean and everything you needed. Close to central Kyoto and the train station.

Trying to checkin. Make sure that you complete the email process before you get to the hotel, because there is nobody there to help you. Also…take your phone charger with you, because if you come back to the hotel with a dead phone. You will have to wait for another person staying at the hotel to come let you into the “lobby”, which does have phone chargers, but they are of little use, if you can’t get into the lobby to use them.

Room was good for a few nights and location was perfectly situated close to the train station and conveniences. Was concerned about some reviews suggesting it was difficult to get into rooms and building trying to obtain their QR Key as the building is not staffed but we didnt have any issues ourselves.

Pillows weren't very good but thats about it. (To be honest everywhere we've been in Japan pillows are terrible)

This place is near Toji tenple and 5 to 10 minutes walk to Kyoto station. The room is very clean and comfortable. I also quite like the interior of the room. All the accessories and toiletries are of good quality. The room service is also very nice. I really enjoyed my stay here and recommend it to everyone.

Nothing to dislike, really a nice place.

I would like to recommend this hotel to location was great and it’s so easy to check-in. They have the dryer in the room size is bigger than we thought. They have free cold and toothbrush slippers two bottle of waters per day. It’s seven minutes from Kyoto station, unfortunately there is no storage for the luggage before check in time. But we love this hotel.

Great automated hotel space. Very quite-- never saw anyone else staying there. Quick walk from the train station and very close to a beautiful pagoda/ shrine. Bed were comfortable for Japan and the room was spacious.

Had a minor issue getting the QR code to unlock the door. Since we booked via booking.com the messages with the code were being sent to my booking.com messaging inbox and not my email. It took a few mins to figure this out and if you arrive late (thankfully we didn't) it would have been annoying.

We got a twin and the room was really big, lots of room for our suitcases. It was also well stocked and the sofa section and coffee table were great to sit together and have meals at.

A little bit of a walk from the station but the location was great for touristing.

The location is great, a short walk from Kyoto station, near Tō-ji temple. The whole experience was completed with no human interaction, easy check-in and check-out. The building is new and well maintained. The room was comfortable, clean and spacious enough, it is cleaned daily, including changing of towels and restock of water bottles. The price is reasonable, considering that we visited on weekend nights during high vacation season (there was a public holiday and a fireworks festival during that time).
