We had a practical sized room, comfortable, clean; staff was friendly and helpful; location was in the section of Kyoto we have stayed before and prefer. The hotel is quiet, in a quiet residential district, on a city block within easy walking distance of multiple mini-markets (mostly to the west,) a buffet restaurant to the west, a yakitori restaurant to the northeast, a chiropractor facility able to adjust my wife about a fifteen minute walk directly south, and the Aeon Mall to the southeast.

Okay, the tub is a bit snug for a bigger body. Also, would suggest mounting the TV on the wall at the foot of the bed rather than one side of the bed. But these were really minor issues. Generally speaking, a great place to stay!

My wife and I stayed 5 nights at Rinn Kambieisu in a standard double room. As others have said, it is a little out of the way, about 15 minute walk from Kyoto Station, and not much in the way of restaurants nearby, although we would recommend Ramen Labaratory and Soniya Indian restaurants, both are which are within 400-400 metres. There was a 7Eleven and MiniStop within 5 mins. The hotel itself was very nice, and in a quiet street. The reception staff were also friendly, especially the woman who greeted us on arrival, and spoke excellent English. We were extremely happy with our room. It was super clean and spacious (plenty of room for our two cases), quiet and with a comfy bed. A big + was that a coffee machine with pods was provided, which made a nice strong coffee.The bathroom was also a good size and had plentiful hot water. Overall though, a very good, comfortable stay, and we would certainly choose the Rinn if ever we return to Kyoto.

A minor issue was the fact that the safety deposit box in the room didn’t work, despite being reported day 2.

Very clean rooms, well equipped, with washing machines on site which was very useful. The staff was very nice and helped us deliver our luggage to our next destination. The place felt cozy and well kept.

The location didn’t suit our trip purpose at all. We knew it wouldn’t be in the city center, but using the overcrowded bus every day was so tiring. Furthermore, it’s not really that close to the station either (with luggage it takes around 15 - 20 mins). So I wouldn’t recommend it for tourists. It’s perhaps more suitable for business trips.

Four (4) pillows on the bed! The room I was in had a very attractive modern design with Japanese aesthetic. It gave me the feeling of being in more than just a hotel. I did take advantage of a promotional (mid-week) deal, which made everything all the more appealing. I felt as though I was well above my usual price class. Location is in quiet residential area about 10-12 minutes walk from Kyoto train station. Closest morning eating options will be there. As long as you don't mind the morning walk .. or get breakfast supplies at konbini (hotel provides tea, coffee). Before arrival, I did wonder about the reception desk hours of noon to 9pm. It's not a 24h service hotel. But, it wasn't a problem at all. They had their system worked out and everything was explained at check-in. Also, I don't need 24h service.

Size of the room was nice and big. The shower and bathroom was better than most others we had in other hotels in Japan, certainly much bigger. The staff was very good. The hotel employed a lot of expats at reception, the English level was as good as the Japanese level, which was very helpful.

Reception isn't 24/7, but closed at 10PM. We didn't experience any issues with it, but that could be my only possible comment.

This was a wonderful, budget hotel that provided exceptional value for money. Our room was small but cosy and big enough for the two of us. The room was clean and had everything we needed. There were washing machines that you could use in the hotel lobby area and this worked well for us. The rooms do not get cleaned every day but we were happy with this (1 clean if you stay 4 nights+, no clean for shorter stays). The hotel had a lovely feel and was around a 10-15 minutes easy walk from Kyoto station. There are no meal facilities but it was very easy to get to local shops and restaurants. A lovely, quiet location. We would love to go back.

There are no negatives about this hotel. We had a wonderful, quiet stay but be aware that the corridor/walls are thin - this could have been an issue if fellow guests were noisy but we certainly didn't have this problem. The hotel has reminders to keep corridor noise low.

Located within walking distance from Kyoto Station, Rinn has a modern and functional design. The room was just big enough for both of us, and had all the amenities we needed. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

The hot water in the bathroom sink didn't work. The double bed was actually two distinct singles. They weren't uncomfortable, but we had better ones on our trip.

Room is very specious, comfortable, and clean; equipped with all the modern amenities. Has a separate tatami room and traditional feel to it. Room service is scheduled based on the duration of your staying. Clean towels and trash collection can be serviced daily per request. There is an additional room tax collected at check-in. Aeon Mall and convenience stores are within walking distance. Highly recommend this place!

The Hotel almost didn't even look like a hotel from the street until you stepped in the front door. The Reception was lovely, small and quiet. The room was bigger than I expected and had a small table and chairs to sit at if you wanted to. The bed was comfy compared to the last place we had stayed in Tokyo that was twice the price and the bathroom was big too.

Nothing I didn't like about the stay.

- close proximity to Kyoto station (trains, subway) and multiple bus stops in the area - away from super touristy spots, so it's quiet and buses will have space on them - we had a quiet room on the top floor - room was spacious and beds were comfy - the lighting in the room is very nice, especially the dimmer light on the accent wall - staff was friendly and helpful, they held our luggage upon early arrival and after checking out for a few hours -we stayed for 6 nights and got 1 full housekeeping service in the middle of our stay - water always got hot quickly and they provided shampoos, plenty of towels, slippers and robes -there was a mini fridge in the room and the lobby has a microwave and vending machine which was handy

- There was a bright light right outside of our window that seemingly never turned off until maybe about 5am. It was impossible to completely block this light out using the blinds provided because they are not full blackout blinds. - Not sure who washes their towels (in-house or not). But there were a lot of long black hairs on every towel we unfolded. Not very appealing.. For the rest the room seemed very clean.
