Everything was perfect, location was great, staff were fantastic and so helpful, rooms were clean and the lobby was nice. Bed was so comfortable and being able to go into the onsen with tattoos was amazing. Loved everything about our stay here.

Although the rooms were small they were great. They had so many amenities at the hotel and in the rooms it was spectacular. Personally the disposable razor shaved my face and head better than any other razor I’ve used. Also their bath cloths and bath wash, shampoo, and conditioner were amazing quality. The rooms cooled off quickly on very hot days with the AC. The staff was great!

The dryer took a long time to dry clothes but was thankful we had a washing machine. We were there with a large student tour group so I had to wait quite a while to do a load. The dryers had to run two 30 min cycles to dry the clothes For ‘Westerners’ the breakfast was very unique. It was a traditional Japanese breakfast but we were not used to it. However what we ate was very good.

The hotel is conveniently located just a 4-minute walk from Tambaguchi Station (JR Line) and only two stops away from Kyoto Station. The onsen was a perfect way to relax after a long day of exploring Kyoto. There’s also a bus stop directly across from the hotel for those who prefer not to take the metro. The location is excellent, with easy access to taxis, buses, and the subway. The hotel is consistently clean, and the room size was just right for my partner and me—even with three large suitcases. The shower offers multiple settings, which we really appreciated. Breakfast, though limited in variety, was satisfying. We also found the complimentary umbrella rental to be a thoughtful touch, especially as it rained for two days during our stay. Lastly, the staff spoke very good English, which made our experience even more comfortable.

There were only two pillows, and they were quite soft—almost to the point that you barely felt any support when lying down.

The front desk staff was very nice and accommodating. I arrived in Kyoto about an hour before check-in time and they agreed to keep my backpack and suitcase until then, always greeted me with a smile and were just helpful. The room was my favourite of the trip. Comfortable bed and pillows, clean, and spacious enough for a person. The shower was really good, too. Breakfast was delicious, offering plentiful options and with some welcomed changes each day. The staff of the restaurant was also incredibly friendly and kind. When I checked in, I was told I could go to the onsen even though I had tattoos, but I didn’t go and I’m not sure it was true or we just misunderstood each other. But if it is true, it was the only hotel to accept tattoos in my experience.

It is close to JR station Tambaguchi, but about a 20 minute walk from the nearest subway station (Gojō). I had a daily pass for subway and bus, so from the 2nd day on I’d just use the bus to and from the hotel.

Staff was very kind. Rooms are very comfortable, with great bathroom space. Breakfast was amazing, with a lot of variety in both japanese and western dishes. Free coffee and water machine. Honestly everything about the hotel was smooth. It has a public onsen which surpassed our expectations too.

TV was old and HDMI ports were blocked so no way to use TV for anything except watching japanese channels. Location wasn't near any touristic spot although it was a 3 minute walk to subway station and had good bus services nearby too.

We stayed here for a few nights and were very pleased with our experience. Although we didn’t opt for the hotel breakfast, it was easy to pick up something from nearby 7-Eleven, Lawson, or Fresco. We also used the coin-operated laundry facilities, which were clean and worked perfectly. The hotel is conveniently located close to train and bus stations, but we mostly enjoyed walking through the charming streets in the area.

Overall, there was nothing significant to complain about — although storage space in the room was a bit limited.

The breakfast had both Japanese and western options, both cold and warm foods. I especially liked the various vegetables on offer and the coffee was decent too. The location was a bit far from the centre, but there were both busses and trains available within walking distance (although busses in Kyoto tend to be very crowded). The lobby is very stylish and the customer service was friendly.

I hadn't pre-booked breakfast and wanted to indulge on one day, but I was almost denied access even though I arrived just in time for the deadline. After talking through it, I was allowed in. Just unnecessary hassle.

this property gets a good mix of people staying. It has families. It has groups. It has couples and singles. It’s a diverse crowd so interesting to meet people.. the highlight has to be the Onsen. the hot water was lovely after my Mount Fuji climb. The power jets are amazing. There is a hot sauna too. The facilities and amenities are a lovely surprise. there are vending machines and washing machines. really enjoyed my stay here but got my days wrong and had to go for one day to another hotel whilst I was in Kyoto. what a mistake as I paid more but liked it less than this hotel. Breakfast was okay. A little bit difficult for someone who eats Halal. More or less the same every day. I ended up with salad fruit and bread perhaps some egg. But there was enough variety to feel full. Really good location too and has some nice supermarkets nearby to stock up on snacks and drinks . I would say the room was tiny and I did struggle to get out of bed and to the bathroom. But it had everything you needed and was thoughtfully stocked. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay at this hotel again. amazing value for money..

The only thing I would change about this stay has nothing to do with the hotel! I would gladly stay here again . I just wish there were more eating options in the local area. As in restaurants. you have to take transport to go to somewhere where there are more eating options. it was a great location to travel to all the sites from but you did have to use public transport and couldn’t walk.

The room was the most spacious we stayed in during our time in Japan. I loved that the toilet and bath were separate. The twin beds (they are pushed together so feels like sleeping together) were lovely to finally have space as we often stayed on doubles that were quite tiny for two. The AC was consistent and it always felt the perfect temperature in the room. The baths downstairs were nice and I enjoyed the added bonus of the sauna. For the price, it was amazing!

I loved our location but if you want to be closer to the downtown hot spots you would need to take a quick bus ride from the place. With that said, we enjoyed exploring the neighborhood and eating at some local spots.

Staff were friendly and helpful. The baths were very nice and always clean. Room was small but comfortable and quiet.

Maybe a little further from main areas I wanted to see than I had expected, but it wasn't anything bad.
