there’s no women’s toilet on 2nd floor. the women’s public bath on 1st floor is not really safe. You can directly see the dressing room when you open the door. So, if someone is undressing herself, you can see her immediately from the door and it’s facing the men’s public bath door. Actually someone opened the door while we were about to undress ourselves. fortunately he didn’t look at us and closed the door immediately. I hope they can add proper partition/blind before the dressing room. Another thing is that bcs we are staying in the capsule rooms, we couldn’t really enjoy ourselves because we need to keep quiet all the time and it’s prohibited to drink/eat in the room. I think this hotel, the capsule room in particular is more suitable for solo traveler and not for group.

Great hotel for visits to Nikko. Staff were helpful, room (private with bathroom, no shower) was good. There are enough shared facilities (showers, onsen, laundry machines) that I never had to wait to use these services. Really convenient location, 5min from main station.

My room (traditional Japanese style) had no curtains, so it can be very light in the morning. A note to visitors - the hiking area of Nikko is ~1hr away from the station by bus. There are good regular bus services, and more hotels within the park in the onsen town on the shore of the lake. I picked this hotel because it had good access to the station and I wasn't sure how the bus services would be. But next time for hiking I would consider staying within the national park instead :)

I didn’t have much expectation because it was one of the cheapest options near the train station, but overall I’m very satisfied with my 2 night stay here. I stayed in the mixed capsule room, I was a bit nervous because I usually prefer female only, but the rooms/capsules have doors with lock, and I believe they try their best to put female together because the people I saw in my section were all female. Checking in and out was easy, they have luggage storage with lock between the two entrance doors. Very good location to explore all the amazing waterfalls and hiking trails Nikko has to offer. I highly recommend getting the discounted bus pass from tourist information in the train station for the yumoto onsen route. It will keep you occupied for 2 full days. Oh! Andy here is an elevator.

We had a top floor room with a beautiful view of the mountains. The room was clean and comfortable, private bathroom. We paid extra for breakfast, it wasn't rich but it was enough. There is a private onsen, they don't allow tattoos, they are divided into male and female but if there is no one there, maybe it's not a problem. Walking distance from Nikko station, the accommodation is on the "main street", so you can walk all the restaurants and shops from the bottom up towards the mountains. I recommend a trip to Edo Wonderland and Toshogu temple and walk up along the river. Nikko is a beautiful destination and I would like to come back here again and for a longer stay. I would choose this accommodation again.

Room is quite spacious for Japanese standard rooms. provided we only have essential things for luggage. Photos on the internet doesn't do it justice. We were expecting a small room but surprised it's spacious. We booked a twin room and the beds can be combined. Room is very clean, quite new/renovated and we especially love the balcony overlooking the town and the mountains. The hotel is w/in walking distance from Tobu-Nikko station and Family mart, along with other restaurants are just in front or beside the hotel. We have tried 3 other hotels near the train station and Hotel Famitic is the best. Complete facilities (laundry, onsen, dining area, bath, toiletries, outdoor smoking area per floor which doesn't allow smoke to come inside the corridors/rooms, luggage storage, etc.). We are always at Nikko and from now on, will only stay at Hotel Famitic. Reception (lady and obasan) were courteous and kind. This hotel is very suited to foreigner guests. We also stayed during winter and the room/heater was very warm. Overall, exceeded expectations. Breakfast is mostly local cuisine, a lot of vegetables, but for the price, still beats eating out.

None! We love it so much. Other hotels have issues and lacking in a lot of areas but Hotel Famitic surpassed expectations. It's the best compact hotel near Nikko station.

Despite being branded as a capsule hotel/shared room dormitory, partitions have been installed, essentially making it a private bunkbed room. TV and headphones provided by the bed, walkway in the room is wide enough for your luggage, bed was comfortable and the room was cozy. Shower and other facilities was good and clean. Location is splendid, less than 3 minute walk from restaurants, main bus stop, and train station. Recommended stay and will return in the future.

The only downside is that other users may leave their dirty socks/shoes in the shared corridor, causing the entire area to stink up. Ventilation is weak, but a separate, smaller ventilation unit has also been installed in the individual rooms.

Located just 2 minutes walk from Tobu Nikko Station and Bus Stops to all attractions. Family Mart is opposite the property. Supermarket a few minutes walk away. Many eateries surrounding the property. Extremely convenient. Check-in was a breeze and the staff is efficient. The capsule is like a very small private room. There is a lockable door to access the capsule. Inside the capsule there is a small writing table, a chair and a locker. Bed is comfortable. Love the privacy. Light sleeper beware, your neighbour's snoring can affect the quality of your sleep. Those with big luggages will have difficulty opening your luggage inside the tiny private capsule. There is an elevator. Toilet is shared and shower is the typical Japanese onsen style bath. The onsen is perfect after a tiring day visiting the shrines. Breakfast can be reserved the night before. Prior to check-in and after checking out, guest can use the limited coin locker (¥100) located beside the entrance to store luggage.

Check in was from 3pm. I got there 2:30, lights closed and a red ribbon covering the front door. I enter and ask if my room is available early by chance and they remind me check in is at three. I wait. 2:56 the lights are turned on. 2:59 the ribbon is removed and I’m given a room key. I know they don’t owe me anything, but I do believe the room was ready even when I arrived and it would’ve been nice to be let in. I’m also curious if the Onsen actually is mineral rich water and not just hot tap water, because there was no smell. Other than that, great stay.

It's a great option for Nikko, close to the station- Tobu Nikko station. Our room has a little balcony which we really love. The bathhouse downstairs is a really nice bonus. During our stay I didn't see anyone else using it, had the whole bathhouse to myself.

All is well; perhaps something to hang towels in the bathroom. Washing machine costs 300 yen per load extra for dryer and if you wish to store your luggage after checking out it'll cost 100 yen per locker. we needed 2 locker each, one for our backpack one for our suitcase.

The hotel is really close to the Tobu-Nikko Station and exactly at the opposite of the Family Mart. I booked the Japanese room with own toilet and shared bathroom. The shower room is on the same floor and opposite my room. As I am a solo traveller, having the room to myself is quite luxurious, but maybe quite cramp if there are two occupants in the room. Love the japanese-bed style and the room and toilet is cleaned. The hotel is about 1.3km from the famous Shinkyu Bridge and I did most of walking around the area. Highly recommend this hotel for those who plan to visit Nikko.
