The staff was very friendly. Overall, the hotel seemed very new. Everything was clean and all appliances in very good condition. The rooms are simple but have everything you need and also enough space for your luggage. I actually liked the minimal and clean look. The hotel also seemed to care about sustainability as there was less unnecessary plastic compared to usual Japanese hotels. The location was great as well and easily accessible.

The pipes in the wall and the AC make some weird noise at night. But after the first night you get used to it. It's not too bad, just unusual to me at first.

We only spent one night here as a quick stop between Tokyo and Kanazawa. The hotel was clean, good value for money, and conveniently located with a supermarket just a minute’s walk away. The room was decent sized, but since we only needed a place to sleep, it suited us perfectly. I did wish we could have stayed longer. With just one afternoon to explore and most temples closing by 5 p.m., we focused on the World Heritage temples and shrines, skipping Kegon Falls and Lake Chuzenji. Nikko felt truly magical, and the rain only enhanced the atmosphere.

Dinner options nearby were rather limited, and since it poured all day, we returned from exploring Nikko completely soaked and didn’t feel like venturing out again to search for restaurants.

I had an amazing stay here. It’s a minute walk removed from the station and the facilities were all modern and clean. There was tons of information about how and where to go. It was quiet at night, I didn’t experience any noise or so. And I had everything I needed from a hotel in Japan. The comfort of the place was excellent. You can’t find something like this in the West for this price… so the complainers need to start nitpicking less.

Breakfast was small but it was also for free and included. It filled me up for the first few hours and that’s all that matters.

The room was unexpectedly bigger than in other hotels in Japan. The personnel was super polite and helpful. There was some noise due to water or AC systems on our side of the building, so next night the personnel allowed us to try another room on the opposite side and keep the keys of the first room just in case it would occur better. There was a complimentary breakfast which was so nice to have. The location is the best: close to the station from one side and the supermarket on the other side where the prices are much lower than in 7/11 and assortment is diverse and great. The location is peaceful as well.

Just the noise I guess after usage of the bathroom and AC by us and by neighboring rooms. There something needs to be done as it was too loud and continuous. The AC in the neighboring room worked all night so the noise was the whole night.

Pleasant helpful staff, free breakfast, microwave oven and washer/dryer available on the ground floor, fridge in room, pretty spacious room for Japan, window could be opened. Short walk to the station and the local buses, and also to a large supermarket. I would certainly stay here again.

Personally, I found the bed a little too firm - I would have liked a bit more padding, but it was OK for the 6 nights I was there. There was a fair amount of noise from the air conditioning, which could not be turned off - I was glad I always travel with earplugs.

The hotel is very close to the train station and the pick-up for city/tourist buses. There is a grocery basically across the street. The room was simple but very clean and fairly big for Japan. The breakfast was very simple, but is was a nice unexpected add-on. The staff didn't speak much English, but they were friendly and helpful. It was a great value for the price.

The one chair in the room could have used a pad. 10am checkout seemed a little early. The bathroom had a little stale odor. But nothing that really detracted from what was a good value.

Great location, only a few minutes walk from the station. It's also near the grocery store to get some cheap bentos. There's a microwave on the first floor you can use. The room was very clean. The staff was very nice and were able to provide us whatever we needed. Free breakfast included. We were on the 4th floor, which had a beautiful view of the town and the mountains.

The room is a bit small, but that's to be expected in Japan. I wish breakfast hours were a bit longer for those who wake up a bit later. The same breakfast is served everyday, could be nice to have some variety. The laundry machines were out of service.

Great location, very close to the train/bus station (so it's convenient for catching an early bus to Oku-Nikko). There is also a big supermarket nearby. Check in is possible until 11:30 pm (later than some other places in this area offer), I arrived just after 11 and it was fine. Spacious room, I could see some mountains from my window. There was a small breakfast - it was just an egg, salad, bread and jam - nothing fancy but it was nice that it was included in the price. Luggage storage on the checkout day was not a problem.

Nothing really

Great location, right next to the main train station/bus station. Easy walk up the street to many dining and shopping options. Average sized room, enough for 2 people for a short stay. Included free breakfast every day (bread, egg, small salad, coffee and juice).

NO cold air conditioning only heating (despite listing saying aircon was available). Our room faced sunrise and was very hot in the morning, with limited relief from the small window opening. If I was to stay again I would request a room with limited direct sunlight.

Close to both Nikko stations, as well as various restaurants, cafes and shops. The bed was comfortable I could see the forest areas from the visible part of the window.

Small bathroom with the tap being controlled by 2 separate knobs for cold and hot water that also control the shower pressure, making it difficult to use and reach the balance between temperature and pressure. The room got cold and it was not possible to control the room temperature. Air conditioning units make a lot of noise in the walls.
