In the past, we’ve stayed at Beppu Suginoi most of the time. We enjoy the infinity hot springs, varieties of all you can eat food services (breakfast and dinner included), and great view of Beppu bay and city. They added an hour limit on all you can drink alcoholic, even though we don’t consume that much alcohol. There are other fun stuff to do at the facility such as outdoor pool, Game Center, and bowling alley which is great for kids to have fun.

The newly built hotel we stayed in recently are not as roomy (with tatami floor) and Japanese traditional feel as it was before. The bathroom is a bit small, compared to the past rooms. We felt like staying in typical, modern hotel environment. The cost does not include using the hot springs bath, which is 250 yen per day, per person (which is only about 1/10 of what it’ll cost for non-hotel guests.

Everything about the stay was comfortable. Once you’re inside the resort, you dont have to worry about anything: Food is taken care of. Onsen is taken care of (yukata/ all bath products and towels provided at the onsen/ literally just need to bring undergarments and some cash because you want to quench ur thirst after onsen). I didnt want to leave the hotel and just onsen 2x a day 😂 The highlight is Tanayu, the main onsen with AMAZING ocean views and just fresh air while bathing outdoors! (I did stay in Sorakan/ had access to Sorayu - good quieter alternative/ great outdoor tub with surround ocean views/ but Tanayu just has a place in my heart) Few times I did want to leave the hotel - i just went down to lobby and asked them to call a taxi - yes, there is a free shuttle to/from Beppu station but sometimes you’re in a hurry or just lazy. (Keep in mind, transportation/ taxi costs ARE very expensive in Japan.) Was under 2000 yen to closeby places like don quixote (on the way back, short 10 min walk to beppu station & took shuttle back).

Property itself has many buildings & is huge. Its also situated on a hill, so ur best bet - take free shuttle from Beppu station to hotel and vice versa. Sometimes the shuttle times wont match with your schedule - just take the taxi to beppu kitahama (bus terminal for mostly outer cities/ local buses go to beppu station west). No constraint on time - you can take free shuttle to beppu station/ take JR or local buses from eki nishiguchi (station west exit) OR walk 10-15 min to bus terminal (kitahama) from beppu station.

Loved the food options as well as the facilities. Everything was very clean and well cared for.

I think a family was staying in the room next to mine so it was quite loud. Also, there were no reservation signs in the bath stalls at tanayu but none at sorayu - maybe this was why a lot of people “reserved” them by leaving their belongings in the stalls, which was a nuisance at busy times because people had to wait for them to open up while there were empty stalls that were “reserved.” I hope the property can clearly guide people regarding this matter.

It was an absolutely beautiful facility with a view overlooking the entire city. The breakfast buffet was amazing and had so many options, including acai smoothies, vegetable juice, and eggs benedict. The onsen was the best we've ever been to- clean, huge, indoor and outdoor pools, terraced so that you can see the whole city at night

We stayed in Sora Kan, which was nice because it didn't seem like too many kids were running around, but it was a GIANT facility with three separate buildings, and sometimes the other two buildings could feel like a circus circus- lots of kids. a game arcade, balloons everywhere, and a bowling alley. We mostly just stayed in our Sora Kan building

A great resort that include everything. Perfect for relaxing and I could easily spend the whole day here chilling. Our room is big enough for 2 open suitcases. Great view of the ocean as the hotel is on a hill top. Lots of onsen baths to choose from and you can enjoy the sunrise and sunset while bathing in a hot spring water. Breakfast buffet was great, with lots of varieties so we can have something different over the 2 days we stayed. The dinner buffet was reasonably priced at 3500 yen per adult. Parking is just next door. So easy.

The onsen bath can get busy so need to time it well to fully enjoy.

Nestled in a mountain area, beautiful view of Beppu from Onsen area. Love the Onsen. Room was large and very comfortable. Breakfast and dinner spread had a wide variety and the drinks selection was excellent. Love the variety of sake Convenient with the free hotel shuttle to and from Beppu station

Wish they would change the breakfast and dinner menu every now and then. Had the same food menu for breakfast and dinner during our 4D3N stay

Excellent amenities and facilities to keep everyone entertained. There is a bowling alley, billiard, table tennis, dart board, outdoor playground, swimming pool etc to keep you engaged. The Tanayu onsen is a large outdoor terraced onsen which commands a lovely view. Another Sorayu also provides great onsen. Dinner was excellent with 2 big venues of choice. The Terrace dining is at Sora Kan building which overlooks the bay. Ceada dining is in the connecting building,3 min walk, is huge with great food too. Staying at Sora Kan gives a lovely view of the sea from the lobby. And toiletries provided by the hotel are of good quality. Easily reached by free shuttle bus from Beppu station. Worth a visit and stay.

The pillow was too hard for my liking

-Sora-Kan building felt newly built, gorgeous, and rooms were huge (by Japan standards!). -Views from both onsens were incredible (Tanayu in the main building, and the one in Sora-Kan which is only available for guests staying in that wing) -Tons of activities and super family friendly. Had an astronomer with a telescope both nights I was there. Also has arcade, bowling/games, and a pool with light show every night.

-Buffet dishes were the same both nights. It would’ve definitely been boring by the 3rd night. -Had an incredible balcony with my room, but wasn’t allowed to go out on it (windows were locked shut). -Location (both a pro and a con). Pro is that its location on a hill at the edge of the city provides great views. Con is that you need to take the bus or a taxi if you want to do anything else within Beppu. There is a free shuttle to the main Beppu JR train station though.

It is a big hotel with several blocks of residence, various facilities such as bowling, table tennis, onsen, etc. The food hall is a big one and provides a great variety of foods. The room is also large and makes us feel very comfortable.

As it is a big hotel, we need to take shuttle bus in order to go to the food hall, sports facilities and parking lot., etc. We found it was quite time consuming to do so.

You won’t need to leave this compound as it has everything you need. Food, bowling, water slides, Onsen, and more. Great views over the bay. There were lots of families with kids so would be great if you have a group with kids of different ages as there is something for everyone.

It felt very artificial and the aqua garden was a bit of a let down. It was really just like a warm pool. Views were great though. The buffet room was really loud and very busy. Food was ok, not great. Unless you’re going directly to the Beppu station (where there’s a shuttle bus) it’s hard to get to. The shuttle bus was often very full and you have to use the middle bus seat which can be awkward.
