Check in was breezy. Was given the entrance password 2 days before check in date. Also was given a link to do pre check in and given a QR code to scan during the actual check in inside the apartment building. Beds are comfortable and we all slept well throughout our stay. Love the heater function in the shower room that allows our clothes to dry fast, after washing. Though the apartment was unmanned, the response from the staff via the chat function (either thru booking.com or the in-room device) was fast. Will definitely choose Grand Base again!

A very nice hotel located about 8mins walk from Beppu Station. Pro: big room with plenty of walking space. Value for money. Good for family travelling together. Tip: there is a big pharmacy just 4mins walk from the hotel. They sell groceries that is at supermarket price. For your snacks and drink needs. Otherwise the other supermarket u will come across is the one at Beppu station.

Con: Was aware of the complicated self-check in process and even my Japanese wife read the instruction and both of us still got it wrong in the end. Owner definitely need to give a more simplified instruction. If the pass code is *1234call then just write it as such. Don't put + in the middle of a code that is to not suppose to be there. Lack of packing space.

Very comfortable suites about 5 minutes' walk from Beppu railway station. Kitchen and laundry facilities available. You can wash your clothes, then dry them overnight by hanging them in the shower room (which is separate from the toilet). Convenience stores are available in every direction.

It seems the hotel mainly caters to domestic tourists. There is a lot of communication from the hotel sent in Japanese only. Online translation tools can help overcome this. As for location, it seems the Kannawa district a few kilometers north is the center of the action, but there are many decent places to eat in the area east of the train station just a few minutes' walk from the hotel.

Roomy serviced apartment style accommodation with a modern twist. Beds a little firm but typical of Japan. Entry was easy as was checkout. It's a 5-10 minute walk to Beppu train station. Convenience store nearby. Has a kitchentte and washing machine. Would recommend.

The curtains could block more light but that's a tiny negative.

Finding paid parking was a bit of a hassle when 1st checking in. Suggest to provide google links to paid parking at Kamenoi hotel (multi-storey)

Building had nice lighting, parking (one spot or less than 5 min walk to 2 parking garages) & check in easy with emailed codes. Clean, quiet, spacious, great beds, & appliances. Safe location & walkable.

Just suggestions as it didn't ruin any part of our stay... upgrade towels, leave a broom or small vacuum if someone wants to tidy up, and an option of black out curtains to not see the sunrise if late sleeper or needing rest in a dark room.

Lack of parking but parking close by is cheap so not an issue. Everything is automated, very modern and clean room. Location is great as well

Nice big apartment and just what we needed for our stay.

our apartment was on the corner of the street so was quite noisy while trying to sleep. Bed was also pretty hard but otherwise good stay.

Good location as we could easily walk to the Takegawara onsen and shops.
