1. Location - it's less than 10 minutes walk from Beppu Station 2. Private and spacious room at a very reasonable price. The room is quite spacious, even for two people. You definitely will have sufficient space for packing and unpacking. But be mindful not to ruin the tatami mat. Lock is provided for your room. There are also lockers that you can use to store your belongings outside the room. Plenty of hangers in the room. You have to make your own bed and take out the bedsheet and pillow cover and put it into the designated basket when checking out. 3. Spacious common area, perfect for dining in and there's a kitchen if you feel like preparing your own meal. 4. There are also lockers in the common area that you can use to store your luggage after checkout. However please note that you can only access the locker between 4pm to 10pm ( when the receptionist is around and hostel main door is not locked )

Do note that there's no 24 reception. The staff at the receptionist is serious ( but not rude ). There are only two female showers but I never have to wait long as the hostel was quite empty.

It has a Sauna and a really big common room which was well equipped. The location is great, right near the trainstation.

There are only two toilets and showers, which seems not much if the hostel would be fully booked. Suprisingly I never saw anyone using them apart of me. The rooms are hearthrough even the single rooms and some guest are a bit loud. Moreover most rooms do not have any windows and are rather small. However for a couple of nights it was alright.

Best hostel I've been is Japan. The room is big, with a big locker to store your belongings (I could fit a 16" laptop with a camera bag of body + 3 lenses, so it's big). You get a curtain that fully blocks the light, and gives you good privacy. The way the room & beds are aligned makes it very comfortable, it doesn't feel tight in space, like other hostels in Japan. The shared space and lounge is great, I met there some nice people and we hanged out there, and went to a Karaoke that's right in front of the hostel. The WiFi is strong, I could get some work done and make some calls, and the lounge is very comfortable for sitting with a laptop. Location is very convenient to get to places inside Beppu, and in general close to Beppu Kitahama bus station (5 min walk) And the price was fairly cheap for a hostel in Japan, and for what you get for the price.

The kitchen was very basic, you could make some basic things like omlet, but that's it. (I wish it had more common things like oil, so I don't have to buy) There was also one shower for men, and one for women, so sometimes it's occupied and you have to wait. (I could shower in the sauna room, but you have no privacy)

A fairly new place. The sauna was super. The bed was comfortable. The Kitchen was well equipped. Nice porcelain.

My room was dirty and smelly. Behind the bed there were lots of rubbish , empty chips bags, a black tennis ball and other rubbish. As well there was a lot of dust on each side of the bed. The mattress cover was dirty so I took it off.I immediately informed the reception. The receptionist felt very much ashamed and apologised. He immediately cleaned most of the rubbish and promised to clean it properly the next day.He took a photo. It hasn't been cleaned the following so again I complained at the reception. The receptionist on duty dusted the floor with the hoover but the smell hasn't gone. The toaster in the kitchen was very dirty. Generally, It seems that nobody really cares about cleanliness. I was disappointed and would not recommend it

The sauna is simply an amazing feature that can't be overlooked, it's so nice to go there at the end of your day of visiting! The communal space is juste perfect in size and ameneties, we spent hours there just working or chilling and enjoyed every seconds of it! The rooms are a perfect size, not too many beds and the lockers are perfect to put your valuables while you're gone. The staff is very helpful and cleanings are done thoroughly daily, so you always know that the place is completely clean! The location is so central you can walk to anywhere and you're literally 2min away from the train/bus station. We would go back there in a heartbeat!

After seventeen years I was keen to revisit Beppu and visit the onsens. The sauna facilities at this Hostel were excellent with a dry sauna, cold pool and rest room. The location was great on the beach side of the station just behind the brewery and main street which had shops, restaurants and bars.

It was quiet when I stayed and easy to talk with other travellers in the huge common room with a view out the front. Reception hours were limited. I imagine if there were more people staying it might get a little crowded using the bathrooms and showers.

Great hotel! The single rooms are spacious, and I had plenty of room for my large suitcase. The bedding is comfortable, although the pillow was a bit small. The staff are very kind and welcoming. The showers were clean, and I really enjoyed the small sauna. The hotel is very conveniently located, just a 3-minute walk from Beppu Station. There’s also a direct bus to the “Beppu Hells” only a 3-minute walk away. I can highly recommend this hotel if you’re visiting Beppu!

This hostel was one of the best I stayed at in Japan. The facilities were nice and clean. The sauna was awesome! There was even an ice bath (literally freezing) where you can cool down after sauna. Location was very close to Beppu station and several conbinis.

The only downside were the beds. Unfortunately they were really stiff and noisy. If you're only staying for one or two nights, this is the place to go. If you don't mind the beds, you will have a great stay!

The facility is superb! Huge communal area with two TVs, and plenty of tables and chairs, comfortable sofas. In the kitchen, there are plates, cups, donburi bowl, cutlery, microwave oven, toaster, fridge freezer, even soy sauce and cooking oil. Water pressure is very good in the shower. Dormitory is big, clean and comfortable. I walked in a nicely welcoming air conditioned room. Professionally cleaned and ironed bed linen is provided every couple of days. Toilet is always very clean and no smell at all. The whole house is very clean, thanks to the staff who work very hard. On site laundry machines are very handy. Outside seating area is useful. Things that are left behind by guests such as face wash, shaving etc are free to use/take. Location is very close to Beppu Station yet very quiet. Easy to get to shops/restaurants/bars/onsen, you name it. Free parking and bicycles. Price is very affordable. Compare to other hostels in the area, it’s the best, I highly recommend.

I don’t understand why they have such an unfriendly, to some extent, rude and unpleasant receptionist as a face of the house. The wonderful facility and effort of other staff gets canceled out because of him sadly. It’s a pity.

We love Rojiura. The common lounge and kitchen is the winner plus sauna and cold bath. We stayed in private room even if its bunk bed it's very comfortable. Location is very good very short distance from the station and bus that goes up to the beppu hells and to Yufuin bars anf restaurantsare just few minutes walk.. The staff are very nice too. Found a very nice bbq restaurant about 4 minutes walk from the hotel the yakiniku Arata which BTW must try. Book in advance.
