The staff are very helpful and friendly! They give the best recommendations for places to go and are the kindest. Shoutout to our friends Nanami-san and Tsuyoshi-san who made Untapped feel like home :> The location is very good because it's near everything you need. (Also note that this hostel is beside a place that serves THE BEST Hokkaido soft serve! Don't miss it) The sleeping area/dorm was very comfy. It's not hotel quality but it is very good value for money especially for students. I like how there was a lamp and outlet for each bed. The lobby is very homey. There is a breakfast & pub that serves delicious breakfast and drinks. The common area on the second floor is good for studying and/or lounging.
The only point for improvement would be the toilets on the 1st and 2nd floor. They don't have a bidet so you would have to go up to the dorm area for a number 2.

Great common area where to chill on a couch and chat with other people. Warm and cosy, with a maximum of 20 guests. The rooms have plenty of privacy, with closed wooden boxes to sleep in. Modern showers and toilet facilities. Just in front of the subway station, a supermarket, convenience stores, and restaurants.
Lighting of the bed could be improved: it was difficult to see things and organise one's belongings.

1. Upon check-in, the receptionist, a cheerful young lady, warmly welcomed me, creating a delightful atmosphere. She provided clear instructions and guidance for my stay. 2. The room was not only clean and quiet but also inhabited by considerate guests who minimized noise, ensuring a peaceful environment. 3. The room’s unique style, featuring cement floors and wooden capsule beds, perfectly aligned with the hotel’s name, “Untapped.” It had a distinctive charm, making me feel like I was residing in the dormitories of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. The bed arrangements also offered excellent privacy, truly enhancing the overall experience.
1. It's a bit disappointing that there's no elevator in the hotel. I had to lug my luggage up to the fourth floor, and it was truly exhausting. Even though the receptionist kindly offered to help, come on, I'm a guy – how could I trouble a lady? But, hey, if there were an elevator, it might spoil the whole "untapped" vibe of the hotel, right? 2. On the first night, there was a noticeable greasy smell in the room, probably due to the ground-floor restaurant and fellow guests cooking on the second floor. However, the aroma significantly toned down over the next four nights.

It was extremely close to the subway station and there many convenience stores closed by. It's not vary far from the city center so even a taxi is not too expensive. The bed bunks provide some privacy.
The bottom bed bunks are very low and because how it is built you have to crawl in and out of it. It isn't a big problem but people who are tall or have some mobility issues may find it difficult.

The location is across the street of a subway stop which made travel to and from much easier. Staff was great and professional. The place was clean and there was a fridge and cooking area in the 2F common area. There was an issue with my booking due to an error of Booking.com’s partner company, but the staff assured me they would make things right and have Booking.com refund my payment despite constantly being told by Booking.com’s staff the payment was non-refundable. They also offered a free mini-photo shoot as a limited-time promotion in exchange for following and posting on social. There was a board of recommendations that would be helpful for guests that already hit the main go-to’s of Sapporo or want to see local hits near the hostel.
There didn’t seem to be an elevator and the stairs are a bit narrow. Some people may struggle especially if living on higher floors. The first floor is a cafe, so there is the smell of food and oil in the stairways and common area. This may be a plus if you like the smell.

Amazing location to train station, great vibes and super friendly/helpful staff. We stayed in the female only dorm which had its own bathroom and shower down a floor which wasn’t an issue for us. The breakfast was also delicious and a great price
Only negative was there was not much space for our luggage in our dorm. Thankfully it was just us and one other so we left our suitcases outside our pod but no designated area

I appreciated that the person who checked us in helped us up the stairs with our bags. The room was quiet and comfortable. The lounge is very pleasant and the hostel is in a great location.
It would have been nice if the building had an elevator because we had a lot of bags and our room was on the top floor.

It is clean and affordable. Can leave luggage with locks.
It’s a bit far from the main lively part of UENO but there’s a train station 5-7minutes away by foot where you can ride the train and go elsewhere

Everything, I had a genuinely pleasant stay at the hostel. Its location is unbeatable with a 1-min walk to a convenience store and close proximity to the station and Hokkaido University. The pricing is fair and student-friendly. The staff were exceptional. Mika's extraordinary reception skills truly stood out. Highly recommend!

The staff were so kind and patient. The atmosphere was easy going and pleasant. I loved their bar and 2nd floor "living room" space. And my room was definitely "big" in terms of Japan.
The doors felt loud, if that can be a thing. Everything echoed in the hallway when the doors opened or closed.
