Excellent hotel in a great location beside the beautiful beach and short distance to well known sights. Lovely onsen overlooking the beach. Friendly service. Food was fantastic and very good value for the half board. We had traditional dinner and breakfast in one of the dining rooms. We were served by Sanjeev, a Nepalese, during dinner. He answered all our queries and our requests with a lovely smile and made dinner a wonderful experience. There was free coffee and drinks in the lobby for enjoyment. The hotel also gives out coupons if we don’t use the daily room cleaning service. These coupons can be used at the restaurants, cafe, karaoke or exchange for beach towels.

This hotel had direct access to the beach! It was awesome! And it offered beach towels as well as chairs, beach umbrellas and blankets for rent. Our room had a gorgeous view of the beach. The hotel was also walking distance from town and some of the main attractions in the city such as the rock formation where all newlyweds have to take pictures!!

Like most hotels in Japan outside of Tokyo, Osaka or Kyoto, most employees do not speak English, so simple requests such as to extend our stay for a day was not easy to accomplish. The check out time was very early at 10AM and on the brochure it indicated that it could be extended to 11AM. When we asked for this later check-out, the answer was a very rude NO. Not "I am sorry, but it will not be possible" but just a simple and very rude NO and the staff just turned around and walked away.

The location on the beach is perfect. Walking distance from the Shirahama station bus stop therefore it is very easy to get there with luggage. Both Onsens were lovely especially the upstream Onsen with beach views. The only downside is I found a bugs in my bathroom so I think they need to lay insecticide, however cleaners came every day. Since the bug immediately ran into the bathroom drain I'm going to assume they're in the pipes. I told the front desk via Google translate and I hope it translated the message properly. Otherwise Shirahama beach is beautiful and relaxing

Price- Room quality ratio is not the best. We choose Mountain View room as we choose low budget trip. The room had no renovation for decades, really sad room. However the price was high as per resort near the seaside, so a bit disappointed. Check out is too early. There is a shuttle bus service, but no enough space per hotel size.

The location, sat on the beach and with a private pool surrounded by green was idillic. The staff and breakfast included were phenomenal.

Due to my own mistake sadly, I booked a small mountain view room with a single bed. It was small and offered my very little opportunity to relax alone but this I believe was my mistake when booking.

The Japanese room is very cozy, Japanese Futon Bed is very comfortable for good sleep. We love the enjoyed half board meals provided by hotel restaurant, staffs are very friendly and helpful, the white beach and playgrounds just In front of the hotel, Hotel provides variety of free drinks for guests from morning to afternoon, the open air Onsen in second floor has sea view.

The swimming pool is closed and only open July 1st, parking lots in front of the hotel is limited

The room is clean. The ocean view from the onsen on 2nd floor is spectacular. The staffs are friendly and very helpful. Breakfast and dinner are great and variety.

The breakfast and dinner schedules are too strict for us. They serve breakfast only at 7 and 8 am, and dinner at 6 and 7 pm

Beautiful beachside location, lovely traditional ryokan (futons & tatamis), open air onsen and delicious, beautifully presented food. A very gracious traditional Japanese inn.

Dinner is excellent, change theme every day with pleasure surprise. Really delicious! Friendly staffs with fluent English. Onsen with good view of the beach.

People from the beach could easily see the onsen area on second floor. Some took photos from there!

The meals were amazing and the service exceptional, particularly in the restaurant. The view of the beach was great, except that it was winter so we were unable to go swimming. Maybe next time!

As a resident of Japan, I wanted to use the government-sponsored discounts (zenkoku ryoko shien). Unfortunately, I had not ticked the appropriate box on my online reservation and the front desk refused to allow me to take advantage of this program when I checked in.
