We had a fantastic stay at Uno Hotel during our visit to Naoshima, the art island. The location is perfect, just a short walk from the ferry terminal, which made everything very convenient. The traditional Japanese rooms were truly special. Beautifully designed, spacious, and full of character, they added to the overall experience. The atmosphere throughout the hotel was calm and welcoming. The staff were outstanding. Easily the best English we encountered during our trip, and always helpful and attentive. Breakfast was a highlight. We chose the traditional Japanese option, which was beautifully presented and delicious. It also included five different juices, a nice touch that stood out. We did not have time to use the onsen next to the hotel, even though it was included in the rate. It is a great extra for anyone staying longer. While not the cheapest hotel of our trip, it was probably the highest in quality. We would absolutely stay here again and recommend it to anyone visiting Naoshima

Honestly everything actually exceeded my expectations. Spacious, clean, comfortable rooms overlooking the harbor and islands. The onsen was really nice, good water and a range of pools plus an extremely nice new sauna and cold plunge. If you're going to Naoshima I'd really recommend choosing this place. And even though the price is a little higher than usual for inaka, I think it's very much worth it. You'll pay as much for an APA in Tokyo these days.
No complaints. This is more about the onsen, but it's worth noting that if you are a foreign resident of Japan and have tattoos you will want to bring your passport and just say you're a tourist. They won't let residents with tattoos in for some bizarre reason - though you can simply work around the rule rather than complain on Google reviews so I recommend doing that.

Excellent location across the street from the train station and just a few minutes walk from the ferry. It’s a beautifully designed hotel. Even the “hostel” part is much more luxurious than it sounds. Elegant design, white sheets, comfortable bed, fluffy white towels, and pyjamas. There is also more privacy than I expected. Each individual cubicle is quite spacious. As many have mentioned, there is complimentary access to the nearby onsen. The staff is fantastic. The front desk arranged for my suitcase to be delivered to my next destination. The cleaning staff also deserve a mention. Everything, including common areas, is very clean.
Not a fault with the hotel at all, but with this kind of hostel-like set up, perhaps being woken up by other guests packing their bags at 6 am is unavoidable.

Fantastic and very convenient location, very friendly and helpful staff. Excellent customer service, and sweet touches for our family and son. The rooms were very nice and well equipped, and had thoughtful touches and amenities. The beautiful Onsen nearby is complementary for hotel guests, and the included breakfasts were colorful, fresh and tasty. A great spot for exploring nearby Naoshima! A bit pricey but nice relative to other nearby options, especially given the popularity of the area.
A tad pricey but lots of thoughtful touches that made our stay comfortable and memorable.

The hotel is close to the railway station. The décor is very nice with ‘indigo’ as a common thread. The furniture is very harmonious. The staff at breakfast are very helpful. We told them we were eating vegetarian and they changed the menu a bit. There is a place where you can have a free coffee or tea. This is a pleasant space on the ground floor. It is a super good location if you want to visit Naoshima island, for example. The ferries are within walking distance. Can definitely recommend the location and also the staff are very helpful.

The access to the onsen nearby was incredible and something I wasn't aware came with the room! The proximity to the train and ferry stations is also unbeatable. The hotel has a lovely lobby and shared space with free tea and was super comfortable to do work on my laptop.
I was staying in the shared space, so although we each had our own space, any slight noise was heard. The property offers a sleeping mask and ear plugs, which I greatly appreciated, but next time, I'd probably just shell out a few more bucks for my own room.

Perfect location from the train station and the ferries. The staff all spoke great english. Loved the deco of the hotel and everything was very comfortable.
I had to do laundry, there is just 1 washer and dryer coin laundry unit with just 1 setting so just something to note if you planned on doing laundry it can only be for simple things as you won’t control any settings. The breakfast is a set breakfast on your first day and then you can choose between three options on your next day. I didnt know about this before booking and it was all fine and tasty, i just wasnt aware.

We are a group of two and stayed in the hostel portion of the hotel. This was probably one of the fanciest hostels I’ve been to. Amazing amenities that are new, modern, and clean. They also include free day pass to the high end onsen next door. The hostel area also has a lounge area with access to complimentary water, snacks, and ice cream. Towels and PJs are available for free, along with toothbrushes/razors/combs. Each guest got their own tiny room (unlocked, has a sliding fan door with magnetic closure) located in a hall that requires a key card to access. There’s about 8-10 of these pods in one hall. The pods themselves are pretty spacious for hostel standards (I’ve been in Tokyo hotels that size not including the bathroom).
The rooms have their own heating fan, but it actually got quite hot (even with the fan off). Also, the sound proofing wasn’t great, but ear plugs are provided. Lastly, the women’s sink in the shower rooms kept running cold despite being turned all the way to hot.

The best hostel experience I've ever had. -The shared bathrooms were so clean and had everything you need (shampoo, conditioner, hairdrier, towels) They were also so roomy and pretty. -The staff was so welcoming and helpful! Since my room was right next to the air purifyer (which was kinda loud during the night) I kindly asked them if they could put it on silent mode and she was so understanding and did so! - I stayed for two nights and I was provided with a new set of towels, pyjamas and slippers. Also when returning from a long day at Naoshima it's so nice to come back to a cleaned room:D - The hotel is also not even 5 mins away from the ferries and the main station. Very convenient for sure:)!!! -They also give you a free pass to use their onsen and in the shared kitchen there's tea, snacks, and water. So comfy.

This Hotel runs a Hostel-Area that is spotlesslessly clean, provided with Pyjama, Towels First Class sheets, very good beds and unusually room for privacy. Each bed in the dormitory is an own seperate room, with own air conditioning, dimmable lights and more than enough storage. Even a safe with pin code is included. Unlimited tea, water and ice-cream in the kitchen, 2 minute walk the onsen, which guests can use costfree during their stay. The hotel has increadibly charming interior and art. All areas are specious and clean, from corridors to rooms and dining. Great fresh and unique breakfast with. five part smoothie selection. It is 1 minute to uno train station, 1 minute to the bus station and a 3 minute walk to Uno port where you can leave to Naoshima, Teshima and Shadoshima. I enjoyed my stay very much and will be coming back soon. The staff is friendly and very competent.
nothing to complain at all, although some spoons in the kitchen area to eat a joghurt would have been nice.
