I love the space of this guesthouse, the room is quite big and wide. The location is also good, only 30 second walk from Nokyo-Mae Station, also just next to a port on the other side of the island of the main port. There is a small bar just right next to the hostel and several cafe restaurant around the Honmura area, which is quite nice, but have to be aware that most of the shop close at around 18:00, and the only 7-11 is around 2 km away from the hostel, and if have to walk to the 7-11. it takes around 30 mins. It took me around 10 mins to jog to the 7-11, and the 7-11 close at 21:00. But overall this is a super nice experience to stay here!

The mattress is too thin so it makes me feel like sleeping on the floor. If the mattress could be a big thicker will be great. The air circulation is also a bit week so I feel hot during the night. It would be better if there is a small fan.

Comfortable bed and spacious room. Just next to bus stop in Honmura and the port. The staff were friendly and welcomed us at the entrance of the guesthouse when we showed up. There is a bar and bistro just outside the guesthouse (was the only lively place at night in Honmura when we're staying)

There is only one bathroom in the guesthouse to use for both men/women. Bathroom sink was small and clogged which made it difficult. Bunk beds were along the corridor of the guesthouse which we did not expect /it must have been difficult for the people staying in the bunkbeds when people were constantly going to the bathroom and kitchen/. Noise coming from the pub/bar outside could be heard in the room.

Location was very good, very roomy cubes with AC in the unit and a small shelf with charging ports + added space for e.g. your backpack, very quick responses on booking chat, very helpful staff. If you don’t expect luxury, you’ll be very happy with this functional hostel.

Lights in the hallway can only be turned on/off by staff (not at a standard time, e.g.) in combination with no blackout curtains, a little poorly isolated so if you’re a light sleeper I’d bring earplugs

The location was nice. It was right next to the pier. I enjoyed looking at the boats and jellyfish. Bunk bed was solid so I could barely feel my friend toss and turn. Bedding was also comfortable. Lighting in the private room has warm and cold lighting that I could freely change.

The wifi was unstable. There was one shower and the floor of it looked dirty. We didn’t shower there but went to the public bath house

Very budget friendly and has everything you'd need. This is a really handy to place to stay if you want to stay the night on Naoshima after returning your bikes at the nearby bike rental place and then get the ferry the next morning to Teshima. The Honmura port is a 30 second walk away from the hostel. A few nice restaurants nearby.

I found the dorm a bit hot despite turning on the bedside fan. The light in corridor stays on all night if you have booked a capsule. Not a big deal for me but might be for some.

A stone’s throw from Honmura port, with a very friendly and helpful owner. He rented me one of his bikes without issue and there’s also a really nice bar attached to the property which served good food and sake. Incredibly well priced also.

You generally know to expect slightly less comfort in pod style sleeping, and this was one of the best I’ve come across, but the mattress could be more comfortable

Location and the staff were amazing. Capsule style bed was also good with a very nice temperature ! Slept very well ! Really good !

Only one bathroom and shower BUT they were really clean and the sento on the other side of the town is worth a visit anyways !

The guesthouse's location is absolutely ideal and made my stay perfect for a few days — so much that I extended it for a night. In front of the port and the water, facing sunset, right in the middle of Honmura, the old and beautiful port village where all the Art House Projects are located, as well as nice restaurants and cafes. Had a wonderful stay and the staff was beyond helpful for all inquiries regarding the island, the museums and my plans in general.

Has everything you need

Don’t expect the hostel to be super cosy and extremely clean. The bed was a little hard (futon), but it’s probably the (or one of the) cheapest stays in Naoshima so worth the price and I had a very good stay there!

The noise isolation is poor, at 7:20 some music started playing The fact that there is only one toilet and washbasin is not very good when there are more than 6 people living there Very uncomfortable climbing into the bunk bed as the sides get in the way and there was some weird odor
