Room was snug yet practical enough space-wise for the Tokyo metro area. Bathtub was a good size. Room offered easy controls for air conditioning that rapidly cooled the room; water flow and speed of accessing hot water in bathroom was good; cleanliness of room was excellent. Staff was very prompt when the bidet function had a battery failure, replacing batteries immediately when we brought that to their attention, immediately restoring service. Location is very close to the Sugamo train station, which is very convenient, and most of the path to the hotel is sheltered from the weather. Check out was very easy.

Good value for price, nice location. Spa/bath is definitely a plus. Lots of cafes and restaurants nearby, near yamanote line.

Our bed wasnt that good, mattress was slightly lower in the middle than on the sides. Asked for a second blanket, they didnt have any. The AC just keeps heating regardless of temperature setting, so if you set it to 20C it will keep heating until you turn it off (e.g it will get to 25C during the night). I understand it wont cool in the winter, but why doesnt it stop heating at set temperature? If they had queen rooms like APA ryogoku, I’d love to use that in the future.

It was my first time stayed at this hotel. When I arrived because it was still early, I left my suitcase there. The front desk was very friendly and helpful, after checking in at night, the room was quite comfortable, the bathroom water was strong and that made me very comfortable. Other facilities in the hotel such as a washing machine were very helpful in my vacation trip.

I found it difficult to communicate because the front desk staff were not fluent in English, so I often had to use a language translator application to communicate. The room size is also quite small so if you are on vacation for a long time and bring a lot of luggage, it will be difficult to open it in the room. The bathroom is also small so the space is very limited.

Everything. The location is excellent, 50 seconds from JR Yamanote line station and 20 seconds from TOEI subway station - on foot. The value for the price is exceptional. Everything you need for a comfortable stay is provided for in the room: kettle, instant coffee bags, tea bags, hairdryer, shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, hairbrush, hair bands, cotton buds, razors, shower cap and more. A fantastic experience. The staff also provided a charger, since I had left mine at home. I always stay at Apa Sugamo and will continue being their guest.

The hotel is a few minutes walk from Sugamo station (JR Yamanote and Mita subway lines), in a much less crowded part of Tokyo than, say, Shinjuku or Tokyo station, still surrounded by a lot of shops and restaurants, making it an excellent home base for a Tokyo trip. The hotel itself seems very new and the rooms are kept very clean. The size of the room is as small as you'd expect from a business hotel. The bed was soft and comfortable. The breakfast is in the connected restaurant on the ground floor, and it has a lot of options each day but little variety. Last order is managed a bit weird, they could do with less food waste and start packing up later if they'd let us eat from what's already there in the dishes in that last half hour — just not replenishing stuff and not taking custom orders. Instead they just start packing up and even if you wanted to stay till 10 and grab a refill, it's not always possible. But it was good breakfast.

• The taps in the bathroom are the weirdest so far that I've encountered, so much so that I ended up using the shower head to wash my hands. There's a big knob to turn on the tap and it goes from "shuts down automatically in a second" to "keeps open at 100 L a minute" with no way to run it any lighter (yes, I've read the instructions) (why do I need to read instructions for a water tap?) • The building has an inner court of sorts — this means if someone's being noisy on any floor, you'll hear it on every other floor. Unfortunately some of the people during my stay were the "keep going in and out of the three rooms we booked the entire evening" types and the "talk for half an hour with the door open" types and the "be loud and obnoxious and slam the doors a lot" types.

Every day the hotel provided clean yukata, towels and amenities (toothpaste, body towels, q-tips, tea, coffee, cups), every third day the room was cleaned. The bathroom is small but it has a bathtub that fits ~180cm European male. Water from the tap is drinkable. Body gel, shampoo and conditioner are provided. A few floors have washing machines near the elevator, it takes about 2 hours and costs 500 yen to wash and dry your clothes (awesome). Nearby this hotel is a lot of places to eat, including McDonald's across the road. I can recommend Gyu-Kaku - yakiniku place, Yayoiken for more classical japanese type food and Matsuya for awesome japanese curry! Also, Rikugien Gardens is a very beautiful park not crowded with tourists and is located about a 15-minute walk from the hotel.

Perfect position, away from Shinjuku or Shibuya, with their very expensive hotels, while at the same time very close to Sugamo Station and its Yamanote Line, that pass for all the major stations of the city (including Shinjuku, Shibuya etc., so easily reachable). Free wi-fi, hotel very quiet and staff very helpful. The onsen were very relaxing, maybe just a bit too hot for one of the pulls.

There were some small problems, but you can easily compromise with them. First of all, there was only a quite heavy bed-sheet, and with october temperature sleeping with it was very hot and sweaty, so I had to provide a lighter one on my own because the hotel did not have it. The current in the room is cut off when you leave the room and bring with you the room's key, so it is not possible to leave a phone or an electric razor recharging while you are outside of the room. And last but not least, movie/tv series selection was a quite limited. Even the movie for adults, something that you would not expect, from Japan, due to their laaaarge quantity of material, on that regard.

Close to a lot of stores and restaurants. A few steps from one station and a couple minutes from another. Staff was always there and helpful. AC worked perfectly.

Wi-Fi was pretty spotty, I tried using LAN and wireless and both would disconnect consistently for a few seconds. Washing clothes was always a challenge, mostly all of the machines were used. if an impatient guest isn't able to wash they will have your clothes removed from your machine and taken downstairs if it's finished. Some people think they're more important than others even if your clothes aren't completely done drying or etc. so just a heads up.

Facilities are good. We have everything we need in the room. Everything was clean and smelt good. The TV had all the infos we need. The cleaning happens every 3 days and is well done you can ask for it too. The bathroom is clean and has all the amenities from shampo conditioner body lotion to hair bands razors hair brush cotton pads and soap. I love how they daily give you new towls, news robs and news cups and tea and suggar. Even a small fridge and hair blower. There is a microwave in the 9th floor and laundry machine in many floors. I really recommand it.

The location is great, easy to access to 2 metro lines. The rooms were small as expected for Tokyo, although had all the amenities needed, very clean hotel, and comfortable beds. The staff was kind and trying to help with the barrier language. Loved the Onsen, is free to access for the guests , Great also the express self checkout. I would recommend it.

I would put more washing machines, as the I'm my view, especially for longer staying guets, are not enough for so many rooms.
