Location at Uguisudani station on Yamanote line - take south exit, cross to opposite road in front of station to take lift down to road level if you have luggage, hotel is on the left side/ walk to Ueno station took 20 minutes without luggage/ cross the road opposite hotel to take bus 41 to Asakusa temple (alight at Asakusa koen stop, turn right when alight n walk straight) / take bus 26 opposite hotel to Skytree station. Supermarket downstairs have limited goods.. a couple of family mart down the road.

Location is a bit on the outskirts of main area if you prefer uncrowded place like me… need to take a stop to Ueno main station for Keisei line to Narita airport or one station to Nippori station to Keisei line to Narita airport. Need to display clean room tag before 8 am on the door (stress )!!!!

The beds are to hard and no wardrobe for your clothes. Nearly all hotels in Japan are the same. Hard beds and no wardrobe. You live out of your Suitcase/Backpack.

Breakfast was very good, great varity. Staff was polite. Room was spacious and as per request We have railway and trains view and my kid was very happy about it despite the fact that actually we didn't spend much time in the room but mornings and evenings he really enjoyed. Very close to Ueno Park ( zoo, museums, etc) transport , market etc

-Very close to Yamanote line station and walkable to Ueno Park -Easy to check in and out, staff spoke adequate English -Room had everything expected, pyjamas were a nice touch

-Location is in the middle of a bunch of love hotels, which is slightly awkward but not something that can be helped

Nice budget hotel in a super convenient location, close to Ueno Park and Ueno Station. It's close to the station and areas like Amayokocho, but is far enough in the other direction that noise isn't a problem. I didn't notice any noise from the station, which is impressive since the hotel is across the street from the train tracks. Room and bathroom were both larger than I expected given the price, so this is a good deal.

The lobby is only accessible via a flight of stairs. Inconvenient with luggage, but would be a deal breaker for folks with mobility issues. After the lobby there's an elevator for the upper floors, but to get to the lobby itself (and the elevator to the upper floors) you have to climb a set of stairs.

First the nearest JR station to the hotel is 5 mins walk. Area Surrounded by so many restaurants and convenience stores. The staff at the hotel were friendly, helpful and professional. Ready to help always. Best thing this hotel have Yamato service which saves me so much headache about thinking how and where I could find the nearest delivery service to send my luggage to. Food at breakfast was exceptionally delicious. I chose this hotel mainly because they serve Japanese breakfast. Room was clean and comfortable too. I’m not fuss with not having daily room service anyway . So Good enough with daily trash cleaning. Overall the stay was value for money. Definitely would come back.

Nothing I can find to dislike the property. My family loves it.

This is our second time staying at Candeo and we were pleasantly surprised to see the size of our room. It was so spacious and it was perfect for three people. We could fit all our luggage (and newly purchased ones included) and still there was so much room to move around. This was a huge step up from the past triple room we booked last June 2023 so we very much enjoyed our stay. The breakfast discount was also a welcome surprise since it was discounted if purchased a day in advance. Food selection remains good and enjoyable with a few new dishes added. We came back to Candeo because it's close to the Uguisudani JR station and it was very convenient going around our usual places like Ueno, Akihabara, Tokyo and Ginza. Will definitely go back again.

Sadly, there was a price increase in the use of the dryers. Previously it was 200 yen for 30mins. Now, it's still 200 yen but for 20mins only, which makes it more expensive by 200 yen for an hour of use, and even more if you need it longer for heavier clothes especially during the colder seasons. Other than that, everything was to our liking and again, looking forward to our next stay.

Location quite convenient, 7 minutes walk from train/bus station. Next to a convenient store which sell foods in good price (you can buy candy/sweet here as a gift for people at home - the price is event better than Don quijote).

I got a free taxi drive from Narita to the hotel, it is said that the taxi driver will wait for us 30 minutes after the departure. But we have to wait for immigration so the taxi driver had to wait for us about 30 minutes later than expected. I texted him and he confirm that he will wait for us. But he charged us 5.000 yen for the waiting time (which I was not informed before the trip to Tokyo).

They offer a good breakfast at a very reasonable price for the hotel guests. But the best experience for me was my checkout time. It was freezing rain. So I asked the receptionist if I could borrow an umbrella to get to the taxi. She mentioned that the umbrellas are for staying guests only. Since I was checking out, she couldn't lend me one. I told her I am totally understand the reason. Bit a few minutes later, she came and handed me an umbrella. She said she doesn't want my mo.to get wet (I travel with my 70 yo mom). This is what I call go beyond for customers. So, I give this hotel 2 thumbs up for service.

I booked a Queen room and was very pleased with the size. The room had two desks which made it easy to have a small snack and drink. The bathroom was also spacious with a tub and a bidé toilet. I was at the 12th floor and had great view of the city. The cleaning ladies were very nice and did a good job, it always felt clean and nice to come back to the room. The towels were changed every day and so were the trashcans. The breakfast buffet was nice, good selection of food and a very big seating area. Close to a train station and also had a big grocery store next to it (not your typical store though). The staff was very nice and friendly, they had razors, shaving cream etc. at the reception which you could take what you needed.

The breakfast buffet were very japanese and I somtimes wished for more western foods but were pleased anyways. It was close to a train station but the surrounding hotels seemed to be "love hotels" or something in that sense. It was a bit weird. The TV didn't seem to have any channels in English.
