Very clean, nice fitness area

You share the common area with everyone else and a lot of western men are walking around without shirts. Or they just change in the common area. Very disrespectful.

Nice hostel... Excellent location for starting day trips and discovering Tokyo. Close to metro station and also walkable to the Tokyo station. Small hidden food places around. Nice thing that there is a gym connected to it, which I recommend to also include in the booking. To the gym itself: wow, awesome... It's a high class gym with very good equipment.

It was a bit strange at the beginning that the door for the room could not be closed. Thus there might also have been noise coming from the floor / bathroom area. I talked to the hostel stuff and they said they were looking into it 😊

The hostel is conveniently close to the metro and in a great location—quiet, yet not too far from the heart of the city. It’s clean and cozy, with a well-equipped shower, a modern gym, and a comfortable common area where you can relax and meet fellow travelers. The food at the café bar is simply outstanding, and to top it all off, the staff speaks English and might just be the friendliest people in all of Japan!

The only downside isn’t the hotel’s fault but rather some travelers—some wake up very early and make quite a bit of noise. So if you're a light sleeper, this might be the only inconvenience.

The beds felt very private and were comfy. Location wasn’t too far from the station which was nice.

The beds can be loud and creaky. Even though each bed is like its own individual box, if the person in the top or bottom bunk moves around a lot, it makes a lot of noise for the other person. Showers were on the upper floors and no slippers were provided which was a bit inconvenient. The space on the first floor is the primary common space, but it also functions as a restaurant/cafe. Sometimes during busy restaurant hours we were told seating is limited for hostel guests. It was hard to tell when it was ok to sit there vs not. I did not like the limited common space for hostel guests.

I cannot express enough gratitude for the wonderful welcome we had while staying at Obi! Every day and evening upon waking or return from our day Aisha and Miyabi greeted us with a warm and lovely smile! Azuma and Kazu were so welcoming and cheerful it just made our stay even sweeter! Everything was clean and comfortable and we will miss the amazing hospitality we felt during our stay! Thank you for the friendly and helpful ways you treated us, we will always remember Obi Hostel❣️

the mattress was comfortable, the capsule was spacious enough to put your personal items. I like that there are charging stations and lights. The main reason why I chose this hostel was the fact that there was a gym inside the building. it was open 24/7. I really liked the access to the gym. I will come back if I am traveling alone again!

For a hostel, there wasn't a space where you mingle with fellow travelers. other than that, it meets my expectations, the location is great, and the metro was a few steps away from the hostel.

Location was good, close to subway station, convenient store just next door, big lockers, privacy with curtains , shampoo and conditioners in showers, towel provided. Lots of cleaners doing hard work every day that was amazing!! I was able to leave my snowboard bag at reception which was so nice and took a lot of stress off my shoulders!

Communication with stuff over google translate, they didn’t tell my anything to see or do, I had to organise myself. Locations a bit far from center but as mentioned above subway is close… if you wanna party then better stay close to shibuya or shinjuku! Last train is at midnight…

I liked the accessibility to the metro, location in a rather quiet part of Tokyo, yet close enough (at times walkable) to some of the main sights of the city. Staff was lovely, coffee and smoothies were delicious! Food looked great too, but ended up not going back in time to give it a try! A small side note: the gym is not included in the booking price, but I paid 5€ for 3 nights - very affordable either way!

There isn't much of a common area, so do not expect to have a social atmosphere as in other hostels in the city!

They let me keep my luggage there on day of checkout because my flight was late in the day. Had space under bunkbed to stuff belongings. The gym was also great, had everything I needed with its two floors.

Nothing, place exceeded expectations. Maybe just crowding when going to your bed due to having to go through the luggage storage and locker area where people usually occupy, but it's nothing to stress about.
