Quiet, charming surburban neighbourhood. The hotel staff always greet you when you come and go, they're so polite! They also change towels daily. I like that it is located near a 24 hour 7-11, post office with post box, and short distance from Akabane-Iwabuchi Metro station (if you're too tired to walk and don't mind taking a longer rail journey). The nightlife along 1番街 is teeming with izakayas, restaurants and is a joy to walk along around 7 to 9pm. Akabane JR Rail station and the surrounding area has a health store where I bought some toiletries, a bakery and even a shop that sells onigiri. The guests are almost all Japanese businessmen or some pensioners, so it does not feel touristy. The room Wi-Fi is fast and reliable. There is a river with a park on an island (past the tennis courts) if you need a small escape from the urban setting. Toiletries provided at reception. Also a printer is provided at the front desk. Washing machines by the lift lobby too! Morning calls can be set automatically using the telephone in the room.

Long walk from Akabane JR Rail station which can be cumbersome if you are dragging luggage from the station to the hotel via 1番街. The location of the hotel itself is also far from the city centre and usually congested in the morning and evenings so it is usually not convenient to return to put your shopping bags (You might have to resort to train station lockers if you don't have time to travel all the way back). Sometimes there are no seats during breakfast. The room I stayed in is rather small and the window is covered in a frosted sticker and you can only open the window up around a 45 degree angle, so the room feels rather claustrophobic.

Keep in mind that it was my first time in Japan, and I don't travel often to begin with so this review is coming from an inexperienced traveler. I thought this place was great to stay in. The location isn't too far from the Akabane Station (it's about a 10 minute walk), but if you have a lot of luggage it might be a little bit inconvenient. I only stayed for a week and just had a backpack and a carry on so it was fine. The front desk staff was really nice, they do speak some English so checking in and out was simple. If you're staying for an extended period of time they let you select your cleaning days (cleaning happens from 10am-3pm) and then they explain to you that your new towels will be hung on your door daily. The location is convenient because right outside of the hotel there's a cool area with a bunch of places to eat and drink as well as a Family Mart that's right across the street. The best part was that the 7Eleven around the corner has a 7bank ATM (I think all of them do), that accepts VISA as well as most other credit cards so if you forget to do the currency exchange at the airport like I did you can still get yen here. The facility is very clean and the elevator is fast. I stayed in a smoking room and never noticed any weird smells or anything, the room also comes with a nice AC unit and air freshener if you're concerned about that. The bathroom was perfect for me, but if you're taller than like 5'10" I can see how it would feel a little bit cramped. For the price it was amazing and the cleaning crew cleans the room and the bathroom really well.

I don't have very many complaints, I was on the 7th floor and it was pretty quiet aside from one of the nights. To be fair, the people who were being loud sounded like other foreigners and they were probably drunk, so that's not the hotel's fault. The bed is a tiny bit hard as well as the pillow, but I didn't really mind. For the price and all the other cool things you get, it wasn't a dealbreaker or anything. I don't travel or stay in hotels often, but they do utilize the system where you do have to keep your key card in a slot on the wall (I learned after my stay that it's likely that any plastic card works) for the electricity to work so just be sure you remember to grab it before leaving.

rooms were very clean (as was the entire rest of the hotel) and the staff was very nice and polite. my japanese isn't the best but they were patient with me and we worked it out. i was able to drop off my luggage at the hotel before checking in and i was also able to leave it there for a while after having checked out. breakfast was good, i liked it. just typical japanese style breakfast.

the only things that bothered me were that the window made a whistling noise one night when the wind was very strong and that the shower was kind of confusing, but that's whatever.

The hotel was comfortable and in a convenient location. Not too far from several stations. I enjoyed the free facial beauty products, cleanliness, and privacy.

The breakfast was sub-par, compared to other Toyoko Inns. While I appreciated the takeout option and friendly staff, the food variety was lacking. I expected the traditional Japanese mackerel, white rice, and unlimited bread. Unfortunately, there were no such options this time, and only a few croissants were left when I came only an hour after breakfast started. (I gave up waiting for more after 30 minutes.)

12 minute walk to JR station, but the walk was simple.

How accessible it was via bus , subway or train. the staff was welcoming as well

The toilet and shower were together, so I will not recommend it for more than one person unless you are comfortable with this arrangement

Easy to get to, friendly staff and well priced.

The room was a smoking room so the stale tobacco smell wasn’t great but the room did have air freshener provided which helped.

The breakfastis good, the rooms are nice abd clean. The staff is kind.

Akabane is an outer suburb so it will take a longer train ride to get there, but it's not too bad.

What I liked the most was the friendliness of everyone at the hotel.

That every two days the breakfast options were repeated.
