The check in process was a bit tedious but got it done quickly enough in the air-conditioned lobby (5th floor) in the hottest summer. There were baskets of complimentary toothbrushes, razors, wash cloths, q tips etc. available for all guests. It was awesome that they gave our kids a separate goodie bag with slippers, kids toothbrush and paste set in cute little bags my kids actually gasped and kept throughout the trip and even afterwards. There is a family mart that’s open 24 hours right on the ground level with pretty much everything you need. The bakery on the ground level was also phenomenal. Even if you don’t book it with breakfast, you will find plenty to eat around the property. Great location overlooking the Wakayama Castle was a huge plus. Wonderful views from the rooms we had (17th floor) will be remembered for sure. I highly recommend this hotel.

I think it was very recently renovated so everything is new and very clean. We highly recommend a room with the castle view, it's spectacular!

It was hard to find the lobby, the signs on the first floor/building entrance only include the hotel name and arrows which lead you into the building lobby and towards the elevators. There is no sign on the 1st floor to confirm the lobby/check in, is located on the fifth floor. However, once you're in the elevator the buttons confirm hotel floors and information.

Location was good, opposite Wakayama Castle. Located above a small mall with a convenience store, bakery and a few small restaurants. There were also other convenience stores and small restaurants nearby the hotel. Car parking was at a 24/7 public carpark, directly opposite the hotel. We booked a family room, huge size with 4 beds, very comfortable plus the room came with a washer/dryer in the bathroom. Extremely convenient.

We stayed for 2 nights to explore Wakayama. The hotel is in front of Wakayama castle which is interesting to explore. The room was clean and spacious. We didn't have a view of the castle but the room had a nice view. The best part was breakfast buffet with lots of options. It was one of the best breakfast. There was a big bookshop underneath, which was a bonus for us who are book lovers.

Great value offered considering the complete range of room amenities and my top floor room with castle views. Location is perfect for sightseeing in Wakayama City since this hotel is right across the Castle Park.

Front desk was difficult to find since it is on the third floor and there are no directions on the ground floor in English. Elevators are too little, small, slow, and unimpressive for such a skyscraper hotel. Staff spoke little English, which is strange for such a big hotel in a big, tourist-oriented city close to Kansai International Airport.

I must've paid for the room upgrade because I was on one of the highest floors with a view of Wakayama castle. I could've spent all day looking out the window. And then the castle lit up at night as well. The restaurant was spacious and the breakfast buffet included an omelet bar and cereal as well as the usual Japanese and Western fare.

It's not the hotel's fault that Wakayama is spread out and really needs a car to get around. Most restaurants are a short walk away though there are two in the building. Fortunately the hotel is on the main bus lines.

It was a surprise that the Wakayama Castle can be viewed closely from our windows. The room size is truly big. The hotel also got a sizable carpark that allows us to park the car very easily. The very very big AEON MALL WAKAYAMA is only 13 minute drive away, in which we could buy almost everything we wanted to. Lastly, it's also not too far away from the KIX Int'l Airport, less than an hour drive to reach there. Could be a good choice of hotel before leaving for other countries.

would be great if it has hot spring (onsen) facilities also! Somehow we could not find Gym to use... might be we missed it.

We stayed here as a stopover for just a few hours. Somewhere to rest, shower and get a bite to eat. We wish we could have stayed longer! The room was SO comfortable. Good size for the 4 of us. Super comfy beds and pillows. Bathroom was bigger than usual Japanese hotel and even had a little bath. Staff were very welcoming, spoke English and were super friendly! Having a combi (convenience store) downstairs was also a blessing.

Nothing as perfect

The staff! They were cheerful, polite, efficient, helpful (it seems they could anticipate one’s queries!) knowledgeable and patient. On-site laundry facilities - good to have especially when one is moving from city to city (travelling light with minimal clothing etc). It’s location is great for our purpose - though a little away from the main train station and city centre - of having some peace and quiet. It’s located right next to Wakayama Castle - nice walking paths.

Better / more lighting in the rooms. One of the beds was tucked into a corner…. great if you’re one who prefers (almost total) darkness to fall asleep.

Very fresh and new-feeling, excellent breakfast with a nice view of Wakayama Castle. Room typical of Japan, fine for me alone, and comfortable. Nice deep bathtub. Very friendly staff.

Although perfectly fine for me alone, anyone with a giant suitcase and/or a partner (and another giant suitcase) might find the typically-sized room among Japanese hotels to be cramped. And I was wishing for a workout room.
