The check-in is performed by a machine. Though it allows early check-in (I arrived crazy early). I value early check-ins in hostels (because, well, why not?) and give maximal rating to facilities that provide it. Location is good. It is near the supermarket, Lawson, 7/11 and Donki. The castle is a bit further but it is visible, especially in the evening. Train stations are pretty far away: probably equal distance from Wakayama (JR) and Wakayamashi (Namba/JR). Room is very clean, with a toilet and a bathroom (shower/bath). Also there is a kitchen that has an A/C, a refrigerator, a microwave and a kettle.

It is definitely overpriced. You can easily have your separate room in Osaka for 2/3 of the price. Thus the room is often empty: I was the only guest for the most time of my stay. The bathroom may be easily improved: it lacks a bathplug and a shelf for clothes so they don't get wet. But it is pretty good. There are not enough power outlets (sockets). I don't know if that can be easily improved though.

It felt spacious and comfortable. I had everything in the room I needed - toilet, shower, microwave, sink, etc. There weren't a lot of guests but I guess. I stayed an extra night as it served as a base to explore part of the city and all go down south. it's not close to a station but I don't mind walking. it's possible to do self check in but I had to be assisted. The host was nice.

- some noisy neighbours - the mattress is extremely soft. I couldn't properly sleep because of that , so be mindful of it.

Friendly and helpful staff with a restaurant next to the reception. There are pubs and a supermarket really close. Can go to the beach by bus or ask at the reception to call a cab. The room is comfortable with a kettle.

I liked everything the facilities had to offer.

The mattress in my bunk was thin. There was not much cushion between me and the wood underneath.

The toilet space is very small, there is no place to hang clothes at all, it is very embarrassing when men and women mix rooms

The room looks newly renovated hence it is very nice and clean, and the aircon is really powerful. Highly recommended even in summer.
