As the hotel is classified as a business hotel I expected a small but comfortable room as per the usual Japanese business hotel. However the twin room we were given was the biggest room I've experienced in Japan for this type of hotel! Even the toilet was spacious in comparison to many others I've come across in business hotels. The breakfast provided was buffet style and was of a high quality and very generous in the amount of food and variety provided. The location of the hotel was almost perfect being only 5 minutes walk from the station and 1 minute to a large supermarket. In addition all the sites to see were very close by. Being of larger Western body type I especially enjoyed the provision of a yukata size that actually fitted me well. Thanks New Palace!!

As is often the case in Japanese hotels the bath towels could be larger and thicker. A constant generic complaint not limited to just this hotel.

Our room was spacious. The breakfast buffet had a wide variety of good food. It was not a long walk from the train and the bus station. We stayed in Shingu to visit places on the Kumano Kodo route and I am glad we stayed at the Hotel New Palace. I enjoyed the onsen. The yukata available in the lobby for wearing in the room and to the bath came in multiple sizes which was great for us as tall Americans. They had sizes that fit us.

The twin room was big, the beds were big as well, plenty of choices at the breakfast buffet and only a 5 min walk to the station would recommend here if you're planning to visit nachi waterfalls.

Reception was difficult to find. we took the stairs to the 2nd floor, and the reception was on the 3rd floor. A guest had to help us maybe have better signage for reception.

The buffet breakfast was generous and had almost everything you could think of. The onsen was spacious and very clean. Also, there were complementary massage chairs that were very nice after a long hike. The hotel is quite new and is clearly aimed at business people. They have complimentary Yukata and slippers, soaps and other amenities to keep you comfortable. Nice deep baths in the rooms we had.

Staff was very nice, location was very good. Room was ample and comfortable.

I was surprised that the Hotel did not have Ta-Q-bin services. We had to go to Lawson to send our luggage. It is difficult for foreigners to arrange the shipping at a convenience store where clerks usually does not speak English.

Staff were super helpful and friendly. The housekeeping lady helped us to dry the socks ..... Unbelievably nice~ Will book this hotel again if we visit Shingu in the future.

Great location, surrounded by many little cafes and eateries around! It was the ideal place to stay to explore Shingu for a day. Coin laundries are comparatively advanced compared to what we experienced in our other Japan accommodations. Machines could wash + dry a huge load of our clothes within 40mins. Terrific after our long days of hiking.

Beds weren’t the most comfortable

Comfortable and close to the station. It’s also very close to Hayatama Taisha Shrine on foot! The bed is not too soft! Like it very much! Breakfast is delicious 😊

Comfortable, quite a good size room. Staff were extremely nice and the location was good with a supermarket and shopping plaza directly behind, breakfast was OK

The room is clean. The hotel is about 7-10minutes walk from JR Shingu station and Kumano Hayatama Taisha Grand Shrine as well as other historic sites.
