I stayed at Nomads Hotel Petra with a friend from April 2–4, 2025, and we genuinely loved everything about it. The rooftop offers a breathtaking panoramic view of Wadi Musa—perfect for relaxing after a day at Petra. The hotel also serves alcoholic beverages, which is rare in the area and a big plus. The rooms were spotless, the staff incredibly friendly, and we had easy access to markets nearby (best one is Alla Aldeen Mall – Supermarket). It’s a great place to meet other travelers, and the overall vibe is warm and welcoming. Highly recommended!

While our stay at Nomads Hotel Petra was overall excellent, one thing travelers should be aware of is the location—it’s situated on a hill above Petra. The climb can be challenging if you’re carrying large or heavy luggage. That said, taxis are easily available in front of Petra at reasonable prices, so it’s manageable—just something to keep in mind. Everything else, from the clean rooms to the amazing rooftop and friendly staff, made the stay worth it.

I can’t express enough how amazing our stay was at Nomads Hotel Petra. The hotel staff was amazing. Service, cleanliness, and friendly environment for tourists was unmatched. The food was amazing. But most of all, the owner of the hotel was one of the nicest people I have ever met. He immediately made us feel comfortable during our entire stay. During our stay, there was some concerns regarding other conflict between other countries in the middle east — the hotel owner made us feel completely at ease during this time and even gave us his personal number to contact him or give us a ride anywhere if we needed. He genuinely would do anything for his hotel residents and made us feel like family. Can’t recommend this hotel enough. They are amazing and made Petra an unforgettable experience

The staff were awesome - very friendly and helpful. The buffet breakfast and dinner were delicious. The rooftop is a nice place to hang out. Close to the main entrance of Petra It has a hostel feel to it with 2 communal chill-out areas.

The toilet didn't flush properly- we managed it with some DIY plumbing, but upon checkout, the staff admitted they knew it was broken. Minor maintenance issues, such as the bathroom door not closing due to broken/bent parts and other poorly constructed structures. The TV didn't work -the staff tried to fix it and even replaced it with another TV, but it still didn't work. They said they would get a technician in the next day, but that either didn't happen or it didn't fix the problem.

The hostel had great facilities, a place to drop your bag, a lovely social rooftop area with cheap drinks and good views of the sunset. The staff were super helpful and gave us great advice for Petra walks. Lots of restaunts and supermarkets close by.

Even though the hotel is a five minute drive from the entrance of Petra, the walk takes around 15 minutes downhill, but it is very steep, there isn't a pavement so it is very slippery and the walk back up takes 20 to 30 minutes due to the steepness. You can go up Tourism Street for a slightly less steep and paved walk but it is slightly longer.

This is a great hostel with a friendly, welcoming environment. The staff were very helpful in sorting our onward travel plans and trying to call activities for us. Room was comfortable and clean with everything we needed. Fantastic roof terrace with good beers and fruit juice cocktails. The mezze snacks were outstanding. Breakfast had a good selection of options and was kept well stocked throughout the morning. The only negative was the buffet dinner - we arrived towards the end of service and the food did not look very appetising as it had been standing for some time so we walked to a local restaurant (Al Jabal Local Kitchen) 5 mins walk away - fantastic!

The room was spotless and much more modern than I was expecting. The staff were very friendly, from the receptionist to the kitchen and cleaning staff. the wifi worked well, the small fridge and daily water supply was appreciated and the food (esp dinner) was very good and cheaper than any of the local restaurants. The packed lunch was ok taste wise but very useful if hiking the back door to Petra route and cheap compared to other options. Maps at reception were also very useful.my room was on the top floor so I could see the park entrance and some of the mountains from the room which was nice.

Nothing major, but as a solo traveller it would be nice to have some more activities organised (dinner at different restaurants, some more local beers at your bar, etc).the hotel is up a steep hill from, but very close to, the main Petra park gate. I walked down the hill each day taking about 5 mins, but took a taxi back up on my way back. It’s a very short walk but too steep to climb after a long day. It takes less than 2 minutes by car and cost me 3 JOD (but they will try charge 5 JOD). However, overall, I would definitely stay again if returning to Petra.

Comfortable stay in a great location with amazing sunset views from the rooftop bar. Breakfast was basic but more than enough options to choose from. The staff are friendly and attentive too. A quick 2 minute drive to the Petra visitor center which was really convenient (you could walk too but the hill is really steep).

Drains smelt a bit bad and there are only a few parking spots available so you may need to park on the street. Drinks prices are a little steep but I suppose this is due to the location of the area in general. Coffee pot was really weak and not brewed with enough grounds.

Reception is closed after midnight, just to consider it if you're arriving late but that wasn't a problem The staff gave us the best tips to have dinner and also recommended the best way to organize our two-day visit to Petra. For it, they also offer a lunch box for 5JOD with two sandwiches, two fruits, a pack of cookies, pastry and juice and this made all the difference in our visit given that we didn't have to spend anything for food in Petra! The breakfast fulfills your needs and there's also a nice terrace where you can drink something or eat with a nice view. Parking is available either in front or at the street of the hotel. And with the car we were in 3 min in Petra.

Our stay at Nomads Hotel Petra was absolutely unforgettable! The facilities were top-notch, with spacious and impeccably clean rooms, but the real highlight was the rooftop. The common spaces were thoughtfully designed, providing plenty of cozy spots to relax after exploring. But what truly set this hotel apart was the staff. They were unbelievably friendly and welcoming, going above and beyond to assist us with every request. From the moment we arrived, we were treated like family, which made the experience all the more special. A special shoutout to the chef, a super kind and talented lady who cooked the most delicious traditional Jordanian meals. Every dish felt like it came straight from Mama’s kitchen, full of love and authentic flavors. We even bought a special pack lunch for our day visit to Petra which was delicious and nutritious for such a physically demanding hike. If you’re planning a trip to Petra, this hotel is a must-stay. The location is great -although there is a long and steep hill for you to reach at the entrance of Petra, it's still worth it. The staff was really friendly and they helped us with everything we needed. It's breakfast included so that's another plus! The breakfast was a bit salty but it had everything you'd want -a traditional tomato-egg thingy (delicious), pancakes, cereals, boiled eggs, etc. Room was clean and spacey enough for us. The shower was good too. We enjoyed our stay.

The toilet was leaking? There was always water on the floor. Nothing that would disgust you but still kinda annoying. We tried to solve it with placing a towel on the floor.
