Great location near the centre with shops and a good Forex nearby. Easy to get to the markets and to Fort Jesus and the sea front. We were looking for a scent of the good old days of Mombasa in the 1970s and we found some of it in The Sentrim.

Location.The hotel had old world charm about.It did feel like a castle, it had its heyday and they have certainly maintained it to its original charm

My stay was excellent! The location is perfect—right in the heart of Makadara (Old Town)—making it incredibly convenient. The hotel is clean, and the rooms are very well maintained. I especially loved the historical charm of the place; staying there felt like being in a living museum. The staff were exceptionally welcoming, kind, and helpful. I unfortunately fell ill during my stay, and it was genuinely comforting to have both the staff and the manager check in on me. Their care and attentiveness made a real difference. I’m definitely coming back to Sentrim—it’s officially my go-to hotel in Makadara from now on.

The location of the hotel is really central. Colonial style architecture and well preserved. The room is spacious. Breakfast was very good and generous. The staff is really helpful and always ready to solve a problem.

I stayed for 6 days and there were a couple of times that the a/c had a problem. The room I had has a balcony towards the street so leaving the window/door open would cool down the room but it would be very noisy. There was a problem with hot water the first day I checked in. But both times the problem was solved within a couple of hours.

The historicam building is beautiful and gives this hotel a unique charm. The rooms are quite big and confortable, there is even AC (even tough it's a bit noisy). Food at the restaurant is very good and so are the cocktails. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Pool area looks quite cool and relaxing but we didn't get to use it since the pool closes at 6pm.

AC was very noisy and the regular fan wasn't working (since we were only there for the night and discovered about it very late we didn't get to ask ro fix it) but therefore we slept without AC or fan and woke up because of the heat to turn AC on. The o ky other issue in my opinion is the window being single glazing meaning your can hear traffic. It would also be cool of the pool opened a bit longer so that people who get there late from the Nairobi train can still enjoy it.

I absolutely loved the hotel's old-world charm. The staff were incredibly helpful, professional, and friendly, making my stay even more enjoyable. The food was delightful, with an exceptional coffee selection and a decent breakfast spread. I was especially impressed by the chef's willingness to accommodate my dietary needs, preparing low-sodium, low-carb, and low-fat evening meals for me. The personalized service and cozy atmosphere made me feel right at home!

The wifi was slow at times

When we arrived the staff were very pleasant. We were brought to our room where we were greeted with a snack plate featuring a scone,muffin and cookie.The room was exceptionally clean and some shampoo-body soap was offered. There were 6 complimentary waters and a nice tv. The room we stayed in had 2 multi travel adapters with USB ports but in. As for the breakfast it was good but nothing exceptional.
