What a fantastic find in Nairobi. We were a party of 6 doing a couple of days in Nairobi before heading out on a few safaris. I wanted the space that an apartment afforded with the facilities a hotel provided. Thankfully Woodmere offered both. We had a lovely 4 bedroom apartment set over two floors. The decor was lovely and the apartment was cool. Comfortable beds, linens and shower facilities. Great water pressure and hot water. It was easy to book ubers to do various activities and they had many porters to carry up our suitcases. They have a 24 hour reception and they are usually very responsive. The free breakfast offered was adequate for our needs, you got fresh coffee, chai or hot chocolate, 2 eggs done any way, boiled, fried, scrambled and 1 sausage with home made bread. It was enough to hold you up before lunch. The staff were all lovely and very helpful. All our items were safe. We didnt ask for cleaning as the most we stayed each time was 3 days before heading out on safari. We didnt do any washing there either as it was per item. I can't feedback what was in walking distance as I used ubers mainly. A top tip when travelling in Nairobi and using uber is to change the option to cash only, as drivers prefer this over card payments. They only receive card payments 1 month or so after and tend to cancel job that are card payment. We experienced 1 scam with uber so I am advising you, if a driver asks to you stop for gas or pay for their mall parking etc. Decline and ask to go straight to your destination. We experienced a situation where the ride was 500 shillings and the driver asked my husband to stop for gas. My husband said no problem, the driver then put the time as waiting time for us and the bill went up to 800. Small money but its the principle of the matter. Please note that drivers never seem to have change so please go to the bank and get smaller notes to tip the porters and pay the drivers etc.

There was a knocking sound in the room in the night. The pool although lovely was always filled with kids doing swimming classes, so my kids never got to actually use it.

This was my 3rd and final time staying here on my 2.5 week trip. I found coming back to Nairobi to immerse myself in some luxury after safari so helpful. Although we stayed in nice places on safari, I felt a good shower and hairwash absolutely essential afterward. The massages the hotel offers are excellent. I found the stouter masseuse amazing, she really worked all the knots out of your body after the jarring in the safari vehicle. We always went out for dinner and lunch so didnt sample the restaurant other than breakfast. We found breakfast adequate. Some really excellent places for dinner were Ankole Grill, Red Ginger and About Thyme. All around 20 minutes away from the accommodation. Please make sure to have small bills to tip waiters, porters etc. People preferred kenyan shillings to us dollars. The hotel provides toilet paper, shampoo and body wash. There is also dishwashing liquid and sponges in the kitchen if you choose an apartment. We found that there was not enough equipment to do major meals but easy pasta and toast for the kids was absolutely doable. Thank you to all the staff for treating us so wonderfully.

The pool seemed to always be in use for swim classes which is good for the local community. This meant it was harder for guests to use it. So if you have kids, please manage their expectations.

The hotel sent a driver to pick us up from the airport and allowed for very late-night checkin after our flights from Canada. We liked that there was always clean drinking water available for guests. Breakfast was delicious and staff were very helpful. Overall a very pleasant stay and we would return.

Guests should be warned that the use of your hot tub comes with a price. We were not aware of this and were asked if we wanted to use the hot tub by staff who did not inform us that this would cost money. The sauna did not work on our second night but these a minor inconveniences compared to a relatively great stay at Woodmere.

The stuff is great, they help with everything, they are flexible to match your needs. I like the swimming pool. They have a nice restaurant. They answer you online very fast. But the best ever, it is the MASSAGE SERVICE. I took two massages and they were ones of the best in my life, honestly, amd the best in a hotel. The professional is very good, good technique, taking care, adapting to your pain and needs and for a good price. With no doubt, if I go back to Nairobi I choose this hotel and this professional massage. Hopefully the hotel takes care of his stuff and keep them.

The rooms were comfortable and clean and had everything I needed. The staff and management were really friendly and very helpful. The restaurant had a good range of meals and drinks and was also a good place to work. it is really excellent value for money! The location is great too

Some things need a little updating, but these are minor: The mosquito nets in some rooms need replacing, also the mesh on windows. The showers are good but flood the bathroom even when taking care. Reception were happy to change my room though and then I was fine

Our 2nd time staying here in our August trip. Although I booked the 4 bedroom apartment, I wasnt able to get it and was offered 2 separate apartment on 2 different floors. this didnt matter to us as we were a family of 4 and 2 grandparents so it worked out well. Breakfast was excellent. My parents got the free 15 minute massages and enjoyed it alot. We just stopped over one night before heading out on safari again. Excellent choice. The knocking sound coming from the water system

The reception by Francis was excellent. The checking in was seamless. The staff was friendly and helpful. We enjoyed swimming at the heated pool. The beds were cosy enhancing good quality sleep. The pillows were fluffy. The room was spacious enough,there's socket near the bed. I loved the bathroom floor. Theres a restaurant on site ,however if you love home made meals ,there is a Mall approximately 15 minutes away. This was a home away from home.

The swimming pool is a bit small with lots of trainers and trainees. There's no notice that the pool does not have a shallow or deep end to alert inexperienced swimmers. However there are registered swimming coaches on site.

We stayed in the 'old school' part of the hotel and loved it. Our room.was better than the photos. The gardens, especially outside by the road and entering the hotel are lovely. The pool area has a nice vibe too. The surrounding area has supermarkets and restaurants in walking distance.

It would have been nice to have some basics in the apartment, for example, tea, coffee and water plus a few more plates, cutlery etc. There is no full time service by the pool, you need to phone your request through or go to the restaurant. Sometimes felt that we were disturbing them.

Nice pool, perfect temperature as it is heated. Restaurant is nice and affordable. Very good location. Amazing complementary 15 mins massage. Property allows for early check-in, which is very convenient in case of night flights. Very nice and responsive staff. Overall, good price/value balance.

Room was a bit old. It can get very cold at night in the room. Pool can get loud and crowded with kids in the afternoon due to swimming lessons taking place there.

Staff are so friendly, is spacious and fully furnished with everything you need, the small "shop/fridge" to buy soft drinks is very handy and location is very good. Staff were extremely helpful for everything, very kind and made my stay very comfortable. Everything advertised is indeed true and I would totally go back!

It would be great to include at least 1 tiny bottle of water as complimentary. The curtains are white in most windows except the main one so room gets bright, which anyway I solved with a sleeping mask. Unfortunately, a very specific one off occurance was, that there was some sort of insect in the bed since I woke up with many bites and I developed an allergic reaction; this is a one off because I had stayed in another room the same week and nothing like that happened and was perfect, but worth to check that specific room.
