I stayed in Villa Khoum Xieng Thong Boutique for 3 nights as a solo traveller. Bounsin was accommodating and friendly from the moment I arrived (and even before as he helped arrange an upstairs room for me prior to my arrival). The hotel is very clean compared to others in the region with comfortable and spacious rooms. The shower also closes with doors, rather than a wet room like most hotels in the area, which is also a bonus. I felt very safe and looked after during my stay and have since booked in for many more weekends during my time in Luang Prabang. The wooden floor boards are little creaky but it’s because it’s a beautiful old wooden building so really not a fault at all. Can’t really fault this hotel- fabulous place to stay!

Very friendly and helpful staff. Answered all my questions, helped with bicycle rental and taxi to the airport and just generally nice to talk to. They were also very patient when I couldn't pay my hotel fee at check-in (card problems) and had to pay in cash on a later day. Beautiful yard and very good location in general. Very quiet except a few mangos dropping on the roof every now and then. (Although that meant, that I got offered some fresh mango 😋)

The location is awesome as it is close to the famous Xieng Thong temple and the Mekhong River. there are many restaurants, cafe and small shops around. It is very quiet in that area most of the time. the staff is very nice and helpful. we didnt book for breakfast but they gave us as complimentary ! we stayed at the room downstairs so, it is very spacious, the bed is so nice and comfy especially this weather. it is quite cold at night, we asked for the extra blanket, and it helps. we enjoyed the time here so much!

everything is really nice. As the hotel is the old style house which is part of the Unesco world heritage area, you can here other rooms especially upstairs room when they are walking on the wooden floor. I am a deep sleeper, so it is ok for me. but if you are not, maybe you have to use the earplug or something to help you sleep with the noise. However, most of the guests are aware of this, so they are trying to keep the voice low at night.

The breakfast is fulsome and more than fine compared to all other guest-houses in Luang Prabang including very expensive ones. What is more, if one wants the traditional French “continental breakfast”, one can go easily to a number of very good french bakeries or bistros near-by.

It is not a question of “not liking”. I would have liked a view of the Mekong, but having one is not worth it to me because of the cost, and because the location here is less than a five-minute walk to restaurants, coffeeshops, and bars with splendid views of the river.

We have loved our stay at Villa Khoum Xieng Thong. We booked originaly for 5 nights but we had small accident so we had to extend on site for 6 nights for medical purpose. The host has made some magic so that we could stay in the same room for the extended stay. Staff is incredible, so kind and polite. You really feel like being at home. We have been traveling for 5 months in Asia and this is the place we have stayed the longest so far. We will truly remember this place for a long time. Location is perfect, just near Mekong and mains streets but still very calm and safe. Breakfast is very good too, made with love. We have been able to do our laundry there, they also are really helpful with scooter rental and trains/bus tickets. Our room was very confortable, very clean (clean is done on a daily basis by lovely ladies). This is a peaceful place very well maintened and we thank you so much for your hospitality 🙏🙏 highly recommended !!!

This small boutique hotel is located in a fantastic, walking-friendly area of Luang Prabang. The rooms are beautiful with high ceilings, wood floors, and comfortable beds. The breakfast is simple but delicious with offerings of omelets, scrambled eggs, sandwiches, cereal, fruits, coffee, and juice. However, the BEST part of our stay was the husband and wife team that run this hotel. They are kind, patient, and service oriented. The owner (Sinn) went above and beyond for us, helping us with many planning logistics. We could never thank him enough for his kindness and patience. We would 100% recommend staying here while in Luang Prabang. ❤️

The overall vibe of the place is superb. The rooms are really fancy and clean. I don’t know why it’s not fully booked. It’s great for its value. The HOSTS!!!! Super kind and helpful and very patient.

There are some issues with plumbing which leads to the bathroom smelling a bit unpleasant but our wonderful guests have been helpful and quick to respond about this. Maybe try to seek the root cause of the problem to avoid having the same issues again in the future.

The rooms are spacious, with comfortable beds and thoughtful details, making each night restful. The outdoor areas and views add to the relaxing atmosphere, perfect for unwinding after a day of exploring. The staff went above and beyond, providing excellent service and local recommendations that made my experience even more memorable. Breakfasts were delicious. I would highly recommend Villa Khoum Xiengthong to anyone looking for a mix of comfort, convenience, and authentic charm in Luang Prabang. Can’t wait to return!

The room was beautiful, spacious, very clean. The little garden and plants around the house make it really peaceful and quiet. The staff is really kind and always available if you have any questions or specific needs. The location is great ! It is in the best part of the city, close to the temples and attractions but away from the noise of the city. Very peaceful.

The staff were absolutely lovely and definitely the best part of the stay - they were extremely friendly and helpful when needed. The location is great as only a short walk from the night market and lots of great restaurants! The breakfast was also great if you are considering this option.

The floorboards are super creaky and make a lot of noise! We initially had a bottom floor room but the noise was too much so we asked to swap but then you have to be super careful and wary when walking around which isn’t ideal.
