Beach is easily accessible, wide spread breakfast, and nice pools. Staff super efficient and friendly!

Bed was TOO SOFT, it killed my back. I asked to change the bed the next day and they said they can flip the mattress only which helped slightly. Hotel seemed quite old but they are renovating currently... Also, couldn't get a seat at Prego at 7pm even when they were empty? Staff said they go by timeslot and the next seating was 930pm. We were travelling with kids and a baby and eating at 930pm was not feasible.

The main restaurant had some gluten free options and the Italian restaurant had gluten free pasta which was great even though this wasn't advertised on the menu, we had to ask. We were told the steak couldn't be done gluten free so I assume some of the staff need some training in food allergies. The breakfast buffet had gluten free bread but not a GF toaster and also didn't have food allergies labeled for the other buffet items. The room was great, felt fairly new, awesome bed and great shower and bath and so on. The spa was also really nice and we had one of the best massages ever.

One pool was being rebuilt so the remaining pool was busy and it was advised against swimming in the ocean due to jellyfish but I think that is seasonal.

The staffs were exceptionally friendly and they are such a delight to meet every single time..

The balcony is full of mosquitoes especially at night

Wonderful location where you can get direct access to beach. Facilities are great and well maintained. Housekeeping cleaning was fantastic! Our rooms and bathrooms were spotless everyday! Breakfast was wonderful with a wide variety of cuisine. Beds were comfy and bedlinens were just amazing, down feathered pillows were too soft for us but they provided us with firmer contour pillows when asked for them. We self drove to resort and going in/out of resort carpark was seamless as they automatically register our car at check-in.

There was a queue for breakfast for 2 of the mornings ..... I feel that this could have been managed better.

Love the very spacious room, big n clean toilet, even the bathtub is big. The view from my room is soo gorgeous with the view of the pool n the beach. Friendly staff, i love it.

The bed is a liitle too soft for me, when i sleep it realy sink me in, unless ure the petite size, hehe, my mom n sil love it tho. The deposit for the hotel should charge for only one night (like any other hotel i stayed b4) instead of the nights we stayed in. Can't imagined when someone who gonna spend for 1 week there. Wasted for us we dun hve credit card, coz we cant spend anything since all the money in cash deposited in the hotel.

Mostly all of it. The whole experience coming to this hotel is on another level. Parking was sufficient and it’s free. Beach was just in-front of the hotel which is what our main thing for this holiday. Room was spacious. The hospitality there is top notch. Got a lot of variety of breakfast buffet to choose from. Swimming Pool was still kids friendly with the layout though they don’t have a pool slide. All and all. Definitely worth the money spent.

Well at the time just the playground was close due to maintenance. And perhaps the cycling activity can include a toddler seat as well.

Lobby so grand & staffs was great, friendly & helpful where there have welcome drinks that we can take ourself while waiting for checking in (but that we upgraded our room after see the view from lobby as our room garden view upgrade to sea view). The room was spacious, comfortable, so cozy with clean & comfy bed & pillow. Swimming pool area also have great view & relaxing place for hanging out where beside the pool, there got lounge can order drinks & foods. Its have great night view for small walk around the hotel after dinner or can chill around.

1.) The breakfast variety quite many but less of selection for vegetarian (pure vegetarian free of garlic & onion)

There is not much to do in Desaru so the quality of the hotel was most important to us. Westin was very nice, really near the beach. Too bad the infinity pool was under renovation during our stay and we didn't really want to swim in the other landscaped pool. We would have brought our own foldable bikes if we had known there was a nice cycling track round the property. They had good bicycles for hire (first hour free) but most were taken. The hotel front desk suggested an upgrade to a partial sea view which was worth the MYR50 extra. Quite happy with that. Room was spacious and very clean. Just across the property is another hotel which had a live band and the hotel offered a buggy ride, but we realised it was so near we were happy to take a stroll back after drinks there. The service level at Westin is awesome. Super friendly staff always ready to help, as expected of Marriott group. We are fussy travellers and they met our expectations. I would stay at Westin again with larger family if we want to visit Desaru again.

Not much to do in Desaru but that' s not a problem with the property 😅

Really nice relaxing place overall, big comfortable room and great bed, nice pools and beach area. Very nice getaway for a weekend. More negative (but constructive) feedback below but happy with the stay in general.

- Chaos for breakfast (queuing, very few tables available) - Lights in the rooms are confusing, sometimes had to use the master switch as the bathroom light wouldn't switch on independently. - Bicycles are in awful condition, not maintained at all, had to repair the chain on my own as it was getting stucked in the wheel and was threatening to block it while riding the bike. Your competitor (Sand and Sandals) has extremely well maintained bicycles on the other hand -Using the crowded lift to go up/down 1 floor was a bit ridiculous, a stairway option would have been nice (the one you have would trigger the fire alarm if used)
