Breakfast was very good, lots of choice. Staff were very helpful and tried hard to iron out any issues that arose. Beach was really nice and pool area also.

Breakfast gets a little to busy and often ends up with queues for a table. Nothing the the staff can do about this one but ..... The traffic in and around Kota Kinabalu is horrendous. It takes forever to get from/to the airport. Be sure to leave yourself a LOT of time. Getting to the airport took two hours and getting from the airport almost the same. Both taxi drivers said the traffic was always like that.

Amazing Staff, room, breakfast Buffet. When you have any issue management did everything to fix the problem.

The number of free activities should be increased, the activities like trekking, yoga should be free. The beach is great but the sea is not clear and did not enjoy swimming. Ocean wing rooms are chic but the one we stayed was not clean and the reason we upgraded was to enjoy more private pool but could not since there were children jumping to the pool and made lots of noise. I still believe this is the best hotel in the region but management should take care of the issues i have just mentioned. I also didnt like the open buffet. The. Meal was not good enough. Lots of food but not tasty.

The staff at this hotel are amazing and go above and beyond to assist your needs and ensure you have a great time whilst there.

There are 2 pools at this resort. If you book accommodation in the Garden Wing, you cannot use the pool in the Ocean Wing, however the Ocean Wing has the run of both pools. The pool by the Garden Wing caters to families and kids and can be quite nosiy plus they take up the lounge chairs whereas the Ocean Wing is better for those who prefer to have some quiet time. Be warned this won't be possible if you book the Garden Wing.

It was a luxurious experience- especially as we'd just come from the jungle! Bedding/ pillows- superb! Spaciousness of room excellent in the Ocean Wing garden. The staff were very helpful though we struggled to get through to room service/ reception on the phone. The food on the Malay night was superb as were the staff! Isaac was so sweet and bothered to write us a note with illustrations! Wow! Teppanyaki was also good! Breakfast was superb in terms of choice/ comfort. The chicken noodle soup was excellent! The sunbeds were so comfy and plentiful. suggestion - there were so many children in the adult pool and jacuzzi this was off putting given that they had their own pools! Think there needs to be more enforcement here to abide by the rules clearly displayed everywhere! Ie - children under 12 not allowed- they were in there ( some very young) and being loud! The reason we chose Ocean Wing was to avoid this. Overall a lovely experience in a superb hotel. Sunset at the beach - off the chart! Better than any sunsets experienced anywhere else!

Children being allowed in places that clearly specified they were not allowed. Having children ourselves now grown up - we would have adhered to the rules - we feel the hotel should enforce this as it is their policy and there are pools for children!

The hotel room is clean, tidy, and the dried fruit bag is a kind touch. Staff was helpful and kind. I am very disappointed that it took 45 minutes to Check-In, my mother is 76 years old and kept waiting for so long, but no apology was received. The location was superb, and the variety of food, including at breakfast at the hotel restaurant, was amazing and tasty. Thank you.

The 45 minute wait at the Reception with no apology or explanation. It was NOT a good start to our vacations.

There is nothing we didn't like about this hotel. The staff are very attentive and polite. The location is perfect. It is far from the city which we really appreciated. There is a huge beach and even a nature reserve in the hotel. They provide a lot of activities such as fireflies watching, horse riding, water sports, evening performance etc. There is a choice of several restaurants in the hotel. The buffet breakfast is great and the sunsets are breathtaking. We enjoyed both pools and our kids loved the bath tub on the balcony. We didn't mind aging furniture because the room was comfortable.

The only thing we missed was indoor playground for the kids.

Great location, great pools, great beach and reserve nearby, and great sea view. Many facilities and restaurants choices. Buffet breakfast included are great!

The prices of the restaurants for lunch and dinner are not very friendly and some dishes were tiny. Ended up going out for lunch and dinner on Grab Car after 1st day and found heaps of good food at great value elsewhere.

My family enjoyed our stay very much, the garden wing family room is well maintained n my boys love all the activities they did at the resort, it's a pity they didn't have time for all. We did Atv, horse riding, jet ski, rock climbing, cycling to crocodile farm, traditional fishing, firefly tour & played golf too. The Sunrise walk to view Mt Kinabalu was spectacular n we are so glad we did it! At night there's Firefly tour n even Night vision walk or Ktv in private room! The whole resort is very beautiful with lovely landscape & great pools you have too. All the staff are very friendly & helpful during our stay. The Whatsapp service is excellent as we can contact the hotel anytime, anywhere if we required anything!

The lights at balcony is dim at night , should be brighter especially is L shape, at the other end is quite dark..difficult to see when hanging our clothes.

Beautiful hotel with fabulous facilities. Has a gorgeous private beach and its own nature reserve! Staff are super friendly and helpful. Rooms are spacious and clean. Food of the highest quality. Great breakfast. Overall, this is a magical place in a beautiful location. Difficult to top!

The resort is quite a way from Kota Kinabalu city centre. The resort do offer a shuttle into town free of charge, but the timings are limited. Often, we needed to get a cab, which can be pricey! Make sure you download Grab, which is much cheaper. The hotel offers a great selection of restaurants but as expected in a five-star these are not cheap. On many evenings, the cheaper restaurants offer a fixed price buffet, which is expensive and difficult to really eat enough food to get value for the price.

Came back here after more than 20 years and not disappointed despite the traffic from KK being a lot worse! Great place with little touches of luxury sprinkled around. We had a ground floor Ocean Wing room opening out into the lovely garden and beach. Loved the Oceano breakfasts, the very chilled out bar area (special shout out to the Trio Sensation) and the buffet dinners. Enjoyed tennis and golf and lying by the pool. The sea was as warm as a bath. It’s tropical here and it really rains when it wants to! The staff were great. Very grateful for the garbage pickers on the beach to keep it free from all the usual plastic rubbish every day

One annoying thing was the noise from the neighbouring building site. Piledrivers and drills would start up early morning. It looks like a lot of work ahead so I hope it does not detract from the Ocean Wing experience too much….
