I had an amazing stay at Else hotel, it is near the entrance of Petaling Street Market. From the moment I arrived, the staff went above and beyond to make me feel welcome and cared for. The room was cozy, with a bed so comfortable I didn’t want to get up,but the incredible, healthy, and delicious breakfast they provided made it worth waking up for. Even the security was exceptionally friendly and helpful, assisting me with an online order during my stay. On my last day, as I had to check out at 6 am, the staff made sure I had a takeaway breakfast ready,such thoughtful service! Overall, this place exceeded my expectations, and I’m already looking forward to my next visit. Highly recommend it!

The whole experience was exceptional. Staff were extremely helpful and facilities were amazing.

One thing only, our main meal at breakfast was brought to the table before our starter had finished. The waiter took my empty plate before my partner had finished her breakfast. Some say efficient, I say good manners. I should have refused waiter but didn’t.

My ratings are : 9.5/10 Interior Design : As a creative designer & a photographer, I personally love the interior design and structural building of Else Kuala Lumpur. Every designs you can find in the property is minimal and they have always keeping it clean. Great wall color contrast and soft lighting throughout the lobby area and dining area. The room is extra-ordinary. Their designs are spectacular and made it feels more like home. I personally liked their taste of choosing simple things like adding good quality bluetooth speakers with wireless charging, high quality TV, THE BED & pillow is super comfort, artistic cups, good quality body wash/ shampoo & good quality slippers. Breakfast : Breakfast is rated 10/10, usually as we known are buffets, but in Else, we are served with fruit platters, Starters, Main course & your choice of Coffee. Its a different experience, and the portion are handled perfectly enough for a breakfast, so I won't have that bad habit of taking/having too much portion than I could consume. Location ; The best feeling of staying in a hotel is the MRT public transport is just a few minutes walking distance. This really add up some bonus points. For me, I just want to avoid traffic jam/ get to the destination on time. Located in the center of the city, walking around the street nearby for some book stores, coffee, 7-E, Night street food market, and Cafe & Bars. Staff Hospitality : You will be welcomed and greeted by the team of the staff in Else, at anytime and everyone! They will politely ask you is everything ok with the facilities & services, and if you needed anything, their respond is immediate. They give it to you right away. I personally like how they explain everything to you CLEAR AND EASY to understand. You can really feel their teamwork is at excellent level. We even get to meet the GM during our breakfast, which is very nice.

There's only a few things to take note for travelers Parking : Yes, if you travelled by car (own transport) you will have difficulties to look for a space to park your car. Of course, there are several Chargeable Car Park available, but do take note that not every is attended for 24 hours. You can find free car park but be caution for securities issues that may have occur. Please approach the receptionist or hotel team to assist you in this matter. Bring an Umbrella. The complimentary water bottle is nice because its filled in a glass bottle, I really like that. Just be really careful while opening the sealed-cap, you'll be fine after you've learned the technique on how to open it without breaking the seal off.

The staff in the Raw restaurant downstairs were exceptional, as well as all the staff at the door and reception. Always a smile, nothing was too much trouble. The Sanctuary room was a good size, it was a king size bed. The small balcony off our room a bonus, a nice outlook at night The swimming pool & surrounding area was great. Central market & the river are a short walk away, as well as the tall flagpole & cricket ground & early architecture a little further on. Our Grab ride to Sentral station didn’t take too long, so it was easy to get the express train to the airport. (Any Grab ride duration will depend on traffic & the time of day)

There is an inner space in the middle of the hotel, which is lovely, but to access, you move from icy cold air conditioning into a pleasant warm calm area. The Sanctuary room had light filtering in all night from the opaque glass in the bathroom. Both the separate toilet and bathroom had opaque glass panels. The location was in the China town area & close enough to hear the ‘call to prayer’ early each morning as the Mosque wasn’t that far away. As happens in most hotels, they use a doona, but no flat sheet, I took the doona out of the cover & used that as a sheet, finally slept better (still with aircon on) The traffic can become congested, so consider getting your ‘Grab’ a block down, there were lots of street performers as it was close to Chinese New Year.

Beautiful design boutique hotel right in the middle of vibrant Chinatown. Great pool we used every day, which we had mostly to ourselves. Would not hesitate to recommend. A la carte Breakfast makes a welcome change from buffet. Snacks in the bar excellent too. Great shower & comfy bed. Whilst we were given earplugs we found the hotel very quiet & didn’t need them.

There was nothing not to love, however maybe a bit more training around timing of food as often breakfast 2 courses arrived almost simultaneously. Coffee was excellent but they often got my order wrong.

My stay at Else Hotel was my best one so far! It’s clean, its new, its grand. It’s calm, its relaxing and not to mention the decorations the interior was beautiful. I stayed for 4 nights in the Mantra room, and it was just nice for a single person. I had the meeting room to study and work, it was cosy, quiet and conducive. I loved it so much. I had the breakfast there everyday and it was immaculate. Ordered the mango yoghurt pudding granola thingy and I was hooked on it and repeated the same order every morning ! Else Hotel, if you could send me the recipe for that at [email protected], that would be amazing. I have been trying to replicate the dish at home and I just could not get it right. The chicken pokey ball dish I ordered for room service was heaven too, the chicken was made sous vide style i believe, then charred, was the best best combination to the entire dish. I really had a good time. Definitely will come back. <3

Exceptional staff and service. Some of the best in the world. Particularly impressed with Vanessa at Yellow Fin Horse restaurant. The aesthetic is gorgeous, the pool, restaurant, fitness center, and rooftop bar were great. Liked the library also. Loved the location in historic Chinatown. The location was safe also. Everything was unique was fab. One of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed in in the world.

Maybe the hotel can do a better job of explaining the unique history of the building along with some of the artifacts on display that are from the original building. We learnt about it from our tour guide. I loved the location. And this was the big reason why we chose the hotel. But some people might be turned off by the reality of being in the middle of historic Chinatown with the city bustle and street life.

The hotel is located in a great vibrant area. The room is amazing with a wonderful bathroom and we had the best soup for breakfast! Thank you for having us!

We felt so well looked after at Else KL. The staff was exceptional, always addressed us with our names and did everything they could to make our stay memorable and were happy to chat and recommend places to see and eat at. The hotel is beautifully decorated and the room super comfortable with really nice touches. The food for breakfast was incredible and we are sad we missed out on having dinner there (but there are also many really amazing restaurants right around the corner, so it's hard to choose!). The location was perfect, super central to all the sights in Chinatown and also nearby train stations which makes it easy to get around. I really wish we could have stayed longer, but we already had a flight booked. Our stay at Else was the perfect ending to a 10 week South East Asia Trip.

Staff. Amazing service. Best in the world amongst the top hotels I’ve encountered. Every single staff member went above and beyond. Food was FAB. Location was great for us in historic Chinatown that is not yet gentrified fully. The aesthetic of the place was just great. Close to the train station which we used. I liked everything.

I liked the location and it was a big reason for me to choose Else. But some people might want to be in the more modern and swanky locations with the malls and the city center. Else is close to there but still in the historic part.
