I liked that the location was very strategic with a lot of places nearby to see and explore. The staff were pleasant and the style of the place made it feel like we were in olden day Malacca which was awesome!

The cleanliness could be slightly better especially for the washing areas and communal areas. :) Other than that for a good value and such strategic location, we were satisfied with what was provided.

Have your own space in the dorm. Rustic building. Balcony to dry clothes. Staff were friendly. Good value for money.

The showers were not nice - very few hooks, the doors don't lock properly...guys probably don't care about this, but girls def do. I had a really strange guy next to me in the dorm as well, he complained when i turned on the fan above me and he could feel it- there was no way to stop the fan from rotating..... it was 29 degrees, 94% humidity.... and this old guy throwing a tantrum about a fan 🙄🙄🙄.

Excellent location. Old house. complementary tea and drinking water. Friendly staff.

Great hostel in an excellent location! The hostel is less than 5 minutes from the heart of old town Melaka. Jon, the manager and his wife, are super friendly and helpful. Drinking water provided. The place next door sells delicious chilled coconuts. Lots of showers and toilets. The only catch is that they are all on the first level and the beds are on the second and third levels. Lots of space to dry clothes in the hot sun on the third level.

The staff is super friendly! I wasn't able to book a bus ticket online and they got one for me instead. Location is perfect for short stay in Melaka, right in the heart of China Town, next to all the must see highlights. Laundry service is only 5MYR and there's a rooftop with a nice view of the China Town.

For the price I cannot complain. The guesthouse is part of UNESCO protected buildings so yeah not the most modern design and facilities. Also mind that theres no AC, however fans do the work. I enjoyed my 2 nights here.

A lovely place to stay and meet other like minded travellers . Friendly and helpful hosts. Easy to find...short walk from the bus stop at the clock tower. Central location. Great local eateries.Recommend hiring a hostel push bike and exploring. Cookery class opposite ( weekends only).

Could do with a bit of a general clean in shower and toilet areas....but for the price it is very good value.

Beautiful traditional pernakan house. Ambient surrounding. Excellent location as close proximity to Jonkor street. Value for money. Easy accesible. If you are a vegetarian, you can get vegetarian food nearby within walking distance. Eg, vegetarian mee hoon from kappan house restaurant which is only a few shops away. There is also cake cafe (opposite the voyage home & guesthouse ) to chill out . Staff are very friendly and helpful. Room is clean and spacious.

Common toilets. I prefer to have personal bath room due hygiene reasons. There were mosquito in the room and my son was bitten.

Great location right in the centre of malacca. The owner gave us some good restaurant recommendations and even took us along with him and a few people to a local festival going on in the Portuguese area which was really fun to experience. The place had free drinking water, although just an FYI it was a lot colder from near the main reception. Great to have the large chill out areas in both the Voyage building and by the main reception.

Just an FYI if you plan to get an early bus into Malacca the reception only seemed to be open from about 8am, this wasn't an issue for us in the end as someone did let us in to drop our bags off but otherwise you might need to find somewhere else to leave your bags. Also the wifi didn't really work in the bedroom but worked perfectly everywhere else. Only very minor points, overall we really enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend.

Great and very very cheap hostel, particularly if you end up extending your stay. Nice billiards table and the dorm room has lots of personal space, almost like a large office cubicle. Also got invited for a food party with everyone at the hostel by the host which was fantastic, delicious and very generous. Well worth it

Very conveniently located. The street is parallel to Jonker Street night market and the river. Nice lounge space for relaxing.

The mixed dormitory was boiling hot all night despite all the fans and light sheets, there isn’t enough air in the room. Difficult to sleep
