He gave me a big smile after telling my his "good' action in throwing guest personal belonging. How can I curse such an emplyee of the Aava Hotel. Please tell the manager of this hotle.

The location is perfect. The hotel is incredibly beautiful and showcases the culture of Malacca very well. The staff was very friendly and attentive. The breakfast was very nice.

Our only disappointment was that the pool was closed for repairs, but it can't be helped!

The hotel location is excellent, with direct access to the Melaka River (locked after 10pm), and within a 10-minute walk to the Dutch Square (Studthuys, clock tower etc.), St. Paul's Hill and Jonker Walk. Room booked was on the 1st floor facing the street (with operatable timber louvre windows!). Room is spacious, well laid out, well upkept and very clean. Despite fronting the street, sound-proofing appeared to be good and the room was quiet. The hotel provides limited (up to five cars) complimentary parking lots in a side lane just opposite the hotel. Breakfast provided was simple, rather limited in choice, but was considered very nice, perhaps in part due to the very friendly and helpful staff. The hotel interior offers very nice, serene spaces with many interesting old items/artifacts. This is a very good hotel to stay in, away from busy traffic yet very close to most key heritage attractions in Bandar Hilir Melaka. Highly recommended.

All were good for our stay. If we were still to pick up on a "fault", it's only the TV channels being quite limited and the signals were not very good.

- Security (only access via room card) - welcoming entrance - free parking (only 5 spaces) - location at a less crowded area but with many nice food within walking distance. As you turn right at the nearest junction, you’ll walk right into Jonker St where Daily Fix cafe and Eureka popcorn is. - by the river allowing you to explore the shops by the river - air conditioning even in the public areas - the Executive Suite was huge for that area. We really enjoyed the space we had chilling on the sofa. - the hotel is small, therefore quiet most of the time - staff are pretty friendly

- i thought the simple breakfast can be improved. But on hindsight, it allowed us to explore other breakfast options elsewhere. I suggest to eat a little at the hotel before heading out for 2nd round - the toilet ventilation when it blows kind of smells. But it is still acceptable.

The facade and ground floor of the Aava are almost museum standard - very beautiful Chinese period house. The staff are very helpful, and our room was big and comfortable. We looked down to the pretty courtyard through our window with pleasure. The breakfast was enough to get us through the first part of the day. The location is excellent.

The hotel's fine features are not always matched in furnishings and amenities. Our bathroom was tired, the carpets and towels could do with upgrading and the ceilings repainted.

We had a great stay at Aava while visiting Melaka. This is a heritage building, beautifully maintained and decorated,  not pretentious but maintenaing it's character and many of original elements of the traditional house. Rooms are spacious and comfortable,  everything is sparkling clean. Location is perfect,  super close to all the main spots to visit, near the river, but not in a noisy area. Rooms are quiet as well,  we slept super well. Pressure at the shower is also very good. Staff is kind and helpful.  Totally recommend it!

The location was good and within walking distance of a lot of attractions. Breakfast was nice. You order from a list and it is made fresh. Room was relatively quiet (the traditional wooden window had an additional double glazed window for sound proofing), except for a slight humming noise from the air vent near the door. Great stay. They have an alley that you can park your car.

Overall, the room and toilet was very clean. Nevertheless, water flow out of the shower was a bit restricted when we check-in resulting in shower water accumulation at the feet. This was easily sorted out later.

Free breakfast was good. Room was comfy. Carpark provided near the hotel. Family room was just at G floor. Easy for my grandmom to walk. Hotel location was strategic, only 5mins walk to the Jonker Street and attractions nearby.

Here in booking.com now have the accessible to chat right? Next time inform us early if needed deposit in cash. Because nowadays, people don't carry cash. And one more thing, think only 1 person enough to provide identity card at the registration.

Location good for river and Jonkers Street market. Direct access to river walk out the back until 7pm. Walk everywhere easily for markets etc, but borrowed a couple of bikes to go to the laundromat/ money changer / shoe shop ...free bike service. Inclusive breakfast good and as substantial as you want. Only 7 Ringets in a Grab from bus station.

I made a mistake with booking. I needed a room with a window and didn't get it. My fault. The pool was "under repair" but not sure if that's cause not too many guests and couldn't staff safety. No close 7/11s if you want to take anything back to your room. I live in Asia. Bed was softer than I liked. As I said, traditional....so watch your head on stairs (100 years ago people were shorter)

Gorgeous hotel by the river. Quiet. Secure. Simple breakfast. Free bicycles. Car park spot in a private lane. Short walk to Jonker St. River taxi stop right outside the hotel. Spacious rooms. Pleasant staff.

Our room (207) had a noticeable incline where the bed was which put the bed at a slight sideways angle which was uncomfortable. While I appreciate you can't change the incline, you must ensure the bed is level. Our other room (212) was fine. Windowless but big and perfect for my 88yo mum. Her only irritation was that the staff didn't know anything about the history of the place.
