Great location, conveniently located within a short walk from Malacca's main attractions like Jonker walk and Little India. Relatively affordable for 2 nights stay, considering the location. Rooms were spacious, clean and neat. Service provided by staff was excellent. They were friendly and hospitable, which made the stay pleasant. There's a shared pantry for all guests with coffee, tea and snacks available. Overall a decent hotel and great value for money, may consider staying here again for future visits to Malacca.

Was a little surprised that there was no housekeeping for the 2 nights we stayed, would have given this hotel a 10 otherwise. The TV had limited channels and only Bahasa Malay channels. Would have been nice if there were international channels in English but it's a non-issue. Toilet was basic and minimally equipped. A hook for clothes would have been nice.

My wife and I had a wonderful stay at the Cara Hulu hotel. Our room was clean and spacious. The bed and pillows were exceptionally comfortable. The location of the hotel was excellent, e.g., a short walk to Jonker Walk and local attractions. But what made our stay remarkable was the proprietor, Ridzuan Jalil. He could not be more hospitable, friendly and helpful. He provided excellent recommendations on where to dine and transportation options. On the day that we checked out, there were multiple parties trying to find transportation on a busy holiday weekend. Mr. Ridzuan was unflappable. He calmly helped everyone with utmost professionalism. By the way, don't let the hotel's location to a mosque deter you. Yes, you can hear the calls to prayer, but they are brief and unobtrusive, particular when you're in your room. My wife and I thought it was an interesting cultural experience.

This is our second stay here. The owner (Ridzuan) was nice, invited us for Eid dinner festivities. The reason we stayed here was the walking distance to the mosque, for Eid prayers and the kids were able to walk from hotel to Jonker street within minutes during the night, not to mentioned, hotel has it's own parking space (not many has parking readily available in Bandar Hilir). The beds are nice, enough to cover RESTING for busy days as we needed to travel to Muar (around 50kms and back). Surprisingly, my SIL booked the same hotel on another website, and the room cost more (no kidding), we used Booking.com and for 2 days, 2 rooms cost us around RM700 ++, as for my SIL, it was RM1000++. The coffee & tea facility is only available at the ground floor pantry instead of being in the room. Again, because it was Eid Fitri, we needed the iron board which we had to share with others at the corridor BUT since we were the only people staying at level 2 with my SIL, along with another family, it WASN'T a big deal (sharing is caring).

Love the location which is a few minutes away in walking distance from all the touristy spots like jonker street, river side cruise to name a few, good food and cafes as well as it is next to a mosque. The host is super helpful and friendly with good tips on where to eat, etc. And the plus point is it has its own parking lot which is something that you hardly get from a local hotel within the city centre. Would definitely recommend this hotel to my family.

Nothing, except if you go during the peak season, traffic can be an issue but that didn't stop us from exploring the city on foot instead.

The fact that the hotel is near eateries ( 1 minute walk to Cendul Kg Hulu Food Court), 5 minutes from Jonker Street. Parking is readily available within and surrounding the hotel. Room is easy access. There's a mosque adjacent to the Hotel, and It is the first Mosque in Melaka. The pantry is fully stock with coffee and tea making facility. Rooms is really clean. And the owner and staff are very polite.

Maybe the staff forgot to ask for my parking ticket to validate, but I should also ask the staff to validate for me too. And the iron board is only 1 at the end of our corridor, Maybe the staff would like to prepare more for upcoming festivities CNY, Eid etc.

Overall, highly recommended - fantastic value! Atmosphere: The host at the reception was exceptionally welcoming and genuinely helpful. We felt very comfortable and safe. Parking: It is right in front of the hotel. Enter from Lorong Masjid, it's paid but your can validate the card you used for payment at the reception and get the 8RN flat fee. Room: spacious, very clean, very quiet, good water pressure in the shower, beds are very comfortable, air conditioner and wifi work well, no problems at all - very good experience Location: a short walk from Jonker Street night market (and all its amazing foodstalls), restaurants, all the main attractions and the riverside - it is a great base to explore the city

I liked the hospitality, warmth and helpfulness of the boss Mr&Mrs Ridzuan. I have stayed in many hotels before but none offering the care and hospitality like they did. Kudos to them! I will definitely repeat to stay here if coming back to Melaka. Was a wonderful stay. Very clean, spacious, modern room. Perfect location to explore the city. The owner was very friendly and answered all our question about Malay culture

The hotel was clean, comfortable , and to the very detail of great toilet paper. The bed was perfect. We enjoyed the share pantry with nice coffee and cookies every morning . Also enjoyed the nice bananas every day. The staff was great, and the owner went out of his way to help us. He went as far as taking us to the bus station after we told him of our bad experience with our Grab driver.

There are no outlets next to the beds, but after we told them, the manager provided an extension cord right away.

Accommodation exceeded our expectations. Accommodation is placed in a city center in walking distance to all tourist attractions, but at the same time in quiet location. Hotel is extremely clean - probably the cleanest I experienced in southeast Asia. Rooms are smartly furnished - we especially appreciated comfortable pillows in 2 heights. Last but not least, host is super nice and proactively helped us with orientation in Malacca and issues which we had with our transport. We will definitely book again when visiting Malacca.
