Excellent location! Within walking distance to many major attractions and food places. Room is clean. Great place to stay if you are prepared for some downsides (see dislike).

Front door requires an access key to open so either call hotel when you reach or wait for other hotel guests to come out to open door. Need to carry luggage up flight of stairs to second floor where front desk is located to check in.

Great location with Jonker street market (Fri-Sun fr 730pm to 10+) just downstairs. Family Mart is next door together with lots of restaurants, eateries to suit everyone's budget. Outside of Fomecs is the performing stage with nightly entertainment during the 3 nights street market. It is also within walking distance to almost all the attractions. The neighbourhood is an interesting one to explore some of the vanishing trades eg. making of Peranakan beaded shoes, huge signboards with Chinese characters etc. Highly recommended.

TV channels are too few. Would be great if can in some foreign news channels like NHK, DW, CNN etc

The location was excellent! Walked out of hotel and literally in Jonker street where everything happens! Vibrant, full of atmosphere on the street with delicious local food and bustling with people until later into the night. The hotel offered a comfortable and safe place to stay. Staff were very friendly always smiling and helpful. Room was very adequate. Toiletries and toothbrushes/comb/razor all provided.

We were fine, but if you had children/buggies or had a physical disability, entering the hotel as in order to reach reception you have to climb about 26 steps. The stairs were wide and clean, but no lift at hotel.

The hotel is very clean and the amenities are well maintained. Cold and hot water is available at the corridor. The location is so strategic and easily accessible to all the tourists hot spots. The front staff was very helpful to arrange an immediate room housekeeping service for us when our room was not cleaned due to my mistake for accidentally turned the door tag to "Do not disturb". Overall it was a pleasant stay for us and I will definitely choose Fomecs again if I were to return to Malacca.

If you have luggage bigger than cabin size, you will put your strength to the test to carry them up the staircase. Lift is not available.

Staffs are friendly, helpful, responsive. Reception area is comfy, spacious and comes with dining area. Water bottles provided in the room. There's also a water dispenser at the hallway for cold, hot and room temperature water. Room is clean, spacious, quiet. Bed is comfy. Room comes with TV, telephone, hair dryer, mosquito repellent, Aircon, heater, cups, flask, toiletries, WiFi. Common rest rooms are clean. Every room even has its own doorbell. Parking area is nearby, RM 20 for overnight, but can claim back from hotel. Love the wooden stairs, but for those who are unable to climb, please take note there's no lift.

The water pressure is too weak. Mosquitoes in the room, but they did provide mosquito repellent.

Bathroom has no shower curtain and toilet floor gets wet. No rack to put shampoo, gel .. etc. TV only show local channels Need to climb one floor up to reception and rooms .. not suitable for those with leg problem.

Taxes were already included in my bills at booking.com but upon check-in I was asked to pay taxes again which I rejected. Luckily, the 2 female staff at the counter were reasonable people.

(1)The windows of the 2 rooms faced the back alleys of houses. (2)Corridors were stuffy and warm.

;) Convenient night market, shopping except taxi/pick up as no parking. Other than that all is very good, recommended location. Night scenery of Shore Sky Tower was wonderful! River Cruise captain was very friendly ;) in future will try after 7pm guess better scenery lol.

Limited breakfast places. Will be better if have lift to hotel in view of elderly traveller. The Shore Sky Tower shopping mall was very disappointed most shop are closed, not much to eat or shop :(

super convenient, although it’s at the other end of Jonker street, there are shops and eateries around. everything at door step. Facilities are minimal but our group were very happy to stay at Fomecs. Clean, good aircon and we have connecting triple rooms. Only setback is for travellers with seniors who cannot climb stairs as there is no lift.

toliet door can’t close properly and slow drainage of water during shower.
