Nestled within the winding streets of Melaka, Baba House stands as a testament to the rich cultural tapestry that defines this UNESCO World Heritage city. Recently, I had the pleasure of immersing myself in the timeless charm of Baba House, an experience that seamlessly intertwined history, culture, and hospitality. Upon arrival, the grand façade of Baba House exudes an aura of nostalgia, transporting visitors to a bygone era of Peranakan splendour. Stepping through the entrance, I was enveloped in the warmth of traditional Peranakan hospitality, as the friendly staff greeted me with genuine smiles and a warm welcome. The interior of Baba House is a marvel to behold, meticulously restored to its former glory, yet tastefully adorned with modern comforts. Intricate Peranakan motifs adorn the walls, while antique furniture and artifacts offer a glimpse into the opulent lifestyle of the Peranakan elite. Every corner of the house is steeped in history, inviting guests to embark on a journey through time. My accommodation at Baba House was nothing short of luxurious. The rooms, adorned with ornate wooden furniture and vibrant Peranakan textiles, exuded an air of elegance and refinement. Modern amenities such as air conditioning and high-speed internet seamlessly blended with the heritage ambiance, ensuring a comfortable stay without compromising on authenticity. Beyond its architectural grandeur and culinary delights, Baba House offers a myriad of experiences to enrich the soul. Guided tours provide insights into the rich history and heritage of the Peranakan community, while hands-on workshops

The location is the best thing. It's only a few minutes' walk to the lots of restaurants and attractions. The atmosphere has the charm of the old world and the comfort of a modern hotel. The staff is polite and helpful.

The soundproofing is not good. Our room was on the ground floor, and there is a lounge area outside the room. Design wise, it's beautiful and functional. When someone is talking, the sound is amplified. We had someone on their phone and we could actually hear the person he was talking to. It wouldn't be a problem in the day time but he was doing it at night when we were about to sleep.

Sound insulation not that good. front desk staff no smile. security guard attitude terrible. i park longer time after check out room. The security guard give me very bad respond. Room charges is 5 stars rate but the security treat the customer is very lousy.

A beautiful refurbished property - stunning - our room was lovely and clean - comfortable bed great linens and towels

I know it’s not the fault of the property as it is all of the old town - the drains are very smelly and certain times of the day it is very overpowering smell that is in the room and property Some of the female staff need a bit more training on the front desk - a smile and explanation of how things work would be good - the male staff in front desk were very helpful. First impressions count - when we check in a hello and welcome to the property would be lovely all we got was ‘passports’ overseas visitors are important to any business

We enjoyed everything about Baba House. Such a beautifully restored property. Staff were very accommodating and friendly. Breakfast selections were great. Location was central and easy to walk everywhere.

We enjoyed that Baba House offered movie night every night at 7:30. There were signs on the tables that said that no outside food was allowed which was understandable. We stayed in for a couple of the movie nights and wanted something more than just a beverage. It would be great if Baba House could sell small snack items such as mixed nuts, popcorn, pretzels or ice cream bars. It would make for a more enjoyable movie night for guests.

The location was very ideal and it is a beautiful hotel, reflecting the peranakan culture. They play a movie each night at the front and if I didn't have children, I would have thoroughly enjoyed it with some food and drinks. The shallow pool is good for lounging and for small children as they can play without parents worrying too much. They must have been replacing the umbrellas as when it is hot, there is no reprieve from the sun and the bar is basically unserviced. In terms of cleanliness, it is good in our room, however there is mould at the bottom of the air conditioning and also in the shower. We didn't use the breakfast service but did not hear great things about it so we didn't feel like we were missing out.

The hotel was awesome 💯 no Comment very clean breakfast was fantastic.. the staff are very respectful and full of manners with a smiling face 😊..recommended ..

The wifi is very bad even in a room where we couldn't watch a tv .. in btwn even phone line also very bad no lines even our own data diff to support .. & request queen Bed upon booking but get twin sharing .. a bit disappointed 😞.. when I booked correct but then when they print they show me twin bed . But it's ok I hope next time I'll get the correct one .. pls fix the internet coz it'll help us to do work too in our laptop. Suggest to Have atleast one white light rather then all dim 🔅..

I had a wonderful stay at Baba House Melaka! The room was spacious, clean, and the bed was super comfortable — I slept so well. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, and I really appreciated the thoughtful touch of a welcome drink upon arrival. The location is fantastic — just a few minutes’ walk to Jonker Street, making it really convenient for exploring the area. Parking was also hassle-free and well-managed, which is a big plus.

There were a couple of minor downsides: the sink in the bathroom was clogged during my stay, and the fish pond in the walkway had a bit of a smell. But aside from those small issues, everything else was great.

The location was really good and convenient. Its a walk away from Jonker street and the Dutch square. We also especially love the daily movie screening at 7pm. That place feels so relaxing and the vibe is chill. We had our dinner there while watching the movie and it was one of our best experience till date in this accomodation.

The floor room couldve been cleaner. We were placed in room 328. Room was cozy and bed is really good but the floor felt like it wasn't vacuumed or swept/mop for days. We checked in and walk around the room. Looked down at our feet and it was full of tiny black bits and dust. My husband is a clean freak so he didnt really enjoy being in the room.

Overall Baba and Nyonya theme in well maintained heritage building next to Jonker Street, spacious room, toilet and corridors. Toilet with rain shower. Decent buffet breakfast at reasonable price. Can dine in hotel restaurant for lunch and dinner. Room has Nespresso machines with coffee capsules provided.

Mattresses a bit sunken in the middle due to usage and perhaps low quality mattresses, feels like budget hotel. Luckily not long stay and no back problem for us. Should not save such cost as bed and shower are most important for relaxation. Should save on other areas such as provide coffee sachets etc.
