This hotel is one of the best we’ve ever stayed at. On a sweltering day, we were warmly welcomed by the very lovely Didi and a most helpful concierge. We were given cold towels and a refreshing drink, both of which were greatly appreciated. The check in process was smooth and friendly. We loved our beautifully furnished room with its comfortable bed and exquisite bathroom. The range of complimentary drinks, snacks and toiletries was exceptional and this was a very welcome extra; it really made a difference. The free, accessible nearby parking was very helpful, as was the free WiFi. Proximity to the centre of the town was very convenient. The breakfast was wide ranging, delicious and beautifully served. We checked out reluctantly. We would have loved to have stayed longer. We cannot rate this hotel highly enough. We will be back!

Location is just fantastic, 2 mins to Jonker Street and walk 10mins to river and red church. Can park at the back of the hotel for free. The interior design is very unique and has characteristics of the local culture and history and they provide good quality shampoo, shower gel and also snacks and some local can drinks!! I liked the complimentary coffee and tea from the cafe, they tasted good and it’s quite relaxing sitting at the yard , where nice decoration and natural light and also air conditioned. The staff are friendly and always smiled at us.

Breakfast can be better. Shower hot water temperature not stable and it turns to room temperature after about 10mins. It’s not cold given it’s always summer but I would prefer to have hot water.

Liu Men Hotel was a fantastic place to stay. The bed was so comfortable, and I loved how the design managed to be modern while keeping the beautiful traditional Nyonya style, it gave the place so much charm. The service was excellent, and the staff were polite and attentive, making the stay even more enjoyable. Plus, the location is perfect! It’s within walking distance to all the main tourist spots like Jonker Street, the Melaka River, and the Red House. A great mix of comfort, heritage, and convenience!

The breakfast was a bit disappointing. The noodles and kuih didn’t quite live up to the usual standards, especially considering the hotel is surrounded by so many fantastic restaurants serving amazing local Nyonya food. The gap in quality was noticeable and could be improved to better represent the local culinary experience.

Well located, away from the madding crowd only footsteps away along a street of interesting worships. Beautifully and elegantly decorated. There is hidden gem of a discerning bar , Pinto No 6 , next door that serves world class cocktails. A restaurant across the road that serves excellent Iberico pork dishes. Excellent service from front desk & porter.

Nothing although the housekeeping didn’t understand to retreat ( for room cleaning) when we were in the room. This is a minor detail but I’d like to mention that due to local beverages that use evaporated/sweetened condensed milk, staff may need to inform guests and be informed about these and fresh milk usage.

It was located in an ideal location. It was very bespoke and beautiful with so much attention to detail. The staff were unreal, and so helpful in every possible way. The breakfast was delightful. They had so many wonderful sweet things for her guests to enjoy in the room. We particularly loved the history of the building as well.

Hard not to like everything about the property. We did note that as all the rooms open up to the beautiful small courtyard for meals are served that you could hear the dishes being cleared and set up for the next morning later into the evening. It could bother people if they were trying to sleep and was super light sleepers. Nothing a fan couldn’t help with though.

After booking, we receive a WhatsApp message from the hotel about the hotel booking and what to look forward on the day of arrival, instructions were very clear and easy to understand. I also like the location because it was very near to the Jonker street night market, so convenient and service provided by the staff was excellent. The room was clean and neat and there were complimentary snacks and drinks for the hotel guests. It was near to perfection in all aspects.

The tv in the room was a bad experience to deal with, they had the Astro streaming service but it seems it was not working at all, even normal tv shows can’t be watched. Try to troubleshoot and waiting for it to load the shows and I gave up on it, decided to head to bed to sleep

- Its location which is walking distance to Jonkers Walk. - The excellent service provided by all hotel staff. - Located very near cafes and restaurants. - The cleanliness of our suite in particular, and the hotel in general.

Nothing to dislike about the property, however the following are my sincere comments: However, food was a tad bit hit-&-miss. But the good news is that our gentle feedback about food quality was received very positively by hotel staff. In fact, the hotel informed me that it is in the midst of improving quality and updating their menu. Our spacious suite was beautifully appointed, but it does lack wardrobe space.

My family and I stayed for a short staycation during the New Year. We loved the : -People- Very cheerful and welcoming staffs. The manager was hands on as well. Excellent service! -Décor - The hotel is beautifully decorated and some nostalgic pieces of art and items were strategically placed all over the hotel. Perfect for Instagram photos :D -Location- Located along the happening Jonker Street . There is also a night market with lots of food options there. Unfortunately it rained on our first night there. -Room- Room was clean and although a bit small, has everything that one needs in the room. The hotel even prepared some local snacks for their guests. Amenities given were good quality. -Breakfast- Though the choices were limited, most of the food we had for breakfast were good. Coffee was great too! -Parking- Free parking is provided. However, the paid and unpaid parking situation can be quite confusing for first timers ( see below). Overall: We had an enjoyable short stay and we loved the vibe of the hotel, we loved the hotel staffs as well. We will definitely choose this lovely hotel again when we come to Melaka.

What we did not really love: - Parking- Although the hotel provided a parking, the parking is situated at the side of the hotel. The parking directly behind the hotel is actually a paid parking ( which we did not know until we parked there to move our luggage into the car). - View - Not much of a view from the room, which was not really a problem for us. - Room size- Room size is a bit small. - I'm a little bummed that this hotel is not really a wheelchair friendly hotel given that there are steps in the front door and back door of the hotel. The room size might be difficult for a wheelchair to enter and exit as well.

Everything about this hotel is excellent! We like the colonial decor. The attention to details and customer service is beyond. We appreciate the complimentary goodies/snacks and lots of water as well as nightly cookies. The staff are all welcoming and friendly like Lulu, Ray and the awesome door attendant who helped us. We plan to come back and we have shared about this hotel with all our friends and family members. Thank you for making it very enjoyable for our stay here. Terima Kasih. Great location too.

That it didn’t have a swimming pool; it would be nice to have a small pool we can chill in after a long day walking around town. Like to have more hangers in closet made available, please! The robes - my partner is 6 foot 1 inches tall ( American) the robe didn’t fit him. May want to include XL size for men’s robe in the room.

The hotel is conveniently located nearby Jonker Street. The decor and ambience of the hotel is welcoming and nostalgic. The cleanliness is superb and the service is excellent. The staff are friendly, helpful and professional especially Zul. I have to say his professionalism is the best I have met so far. He is personable, friendly and helpful and his attention to detail is what makes him different from the rest. He remembers little things and will cater to our needs even before we ask.

Only fallback was that my sink seems to be leaking so there’s always water below the sink but not a lot so I’m not bothered by it. The other issue was that my room has a balcony where you can sit outside but there were mosquitoes outside that I couldn’t even open the door.
