The property kept the feel of the local historic look with its furnishings and decor well maintained. The location is convenient—just behind the Jonker walk. The breakfast had a lot of variety with made to order eggs.

The breakfast had a lot of variety with made to order eggs. There needs to be signs and reminders to rowdy guests who stay out late and return to party and make loud noises. We were awakened after 1:12am with loud laughing, banging, and talking for over 20 minutes. The door handles opening echo through the halls. We paid premium for spa massage treatment at the hotel. My masseuse had only 2 yrs experience and the massage was definitely not professionally up to standards or worth the cost.

Staff were very friendly, couldn't help us enough and the building is beautiful. We needed to leave early on our last day, at 4am, to make our way to the bus depot and return to the airport. The staff helped us with arranging a taxi the afternoon before so we didn't need to rely on a 4am Grab and risk running late and were great in sorting a private transfer for us. On our last night we came back to our room after dinner to find two breakfast boxes waiting for us to take in the morning. Such a thoughful gesture as they knew we were leaving early and whilst we hadn't even mentioned breakfast to them whn chatting and arragning the transfer, the staff took it upon themselves to go the extra mile to give great service. We were impressed and left with a great lasting impression. If we are lucky enough to come back we will definately stay again

If you are visiting Malacca for the purpose of experiencing its cultural heritage, I would say you are far better off staying here than in chain hotels such as the Hilton/Marriott. The hotel is in a historic building, and the interior is wonderfully decorated in a Peranakan Chinese/Baba-Nyonya style, giving you the feel of truly being in the historic city of Malacca. Not to mention that the location is right at the heart of the old town and only a stone's throw away from Jonker Street, which has a night market with an extremely diverse array of street food. The breakfast is also served in a beautifully decorated restaurant area, and has great choice of both western/Malay options.

The location of the hotel was superb. The staff was friendly. The room was clean and simple. The design and interior of the hotel was really pretty and it was nice that they even have a mini museum in the hotel to showcase the peranakan items. It was also nice that they have an in-house spa amd massage facilities and the price for guests are very reasonable.

The shower in the toilet does not have a kerb to keep the water within the shower area and will splash/overflow to where the toilet and sink are. The shower curtains are not enough to keep the water from flowing around.

This Hotel has all the facilities of a modern hotel, but inside a living museum. The house was a 19th merchant's house with courtyards and a grand entrance hall. The common areas are still in the style of the 18th century, but the rooms built inside the old structure are modern and well cared for. It is situated 4 minutes walk from the Yonkers Street Market, in the centre of the old town and just 8 minutes walk from a coach stop if you are coming from Singapore.

The hotel was perfect, the only problem has been the weather.

This beautiful boutique hotel is such a charm. It has a beautifully well maintained garden full of greenery plants and water features. There is a small museum about the building add depths to the experience. It has a rich collection of baba nyonya antique furnitures at the hall/ lobby / dining area. The staff are friendly. Room is clean.

The breakfast is ok but can be better if serve more local delicacies eg nasi lemak, nyonyak kuih. The water pressure for shower head is not strong . The toilet seat is bit loose and move when sit on it.

Location was central to Jonker St so everything was walking distance. Parking close to premise was also a bonus considering the narrow streets and heritage buildings.

There were not enough places to hang dry our bath towels for a 2 bedroom suite. We were given a half toilet roll to start our stay and ran out by day 2. Went down to reception as no one was picking up the phone. It was 11pm and no one was around. So we used facial tissue. Sunday hot breakfast was borderline stale despite us eating at 8am. Monday breakfast with much lesser crowd proved much fresher.

The location was superb; it does not get any closer to Jonker Street and hotel's located along Jalan Tun Tan Cheng Lock!!! Had a good choice of eateries all within walking distance of the hotel. Parked the car and did not have to use it for the entire duration of our stay...we just walked everywhere. Bonus - hotel guest can park their car at a private parking area about 100m from the hotel. They close the shutter at night so it's relatively safe.

It would be great if there is a covered shelter where we park our car - subject to rain / sunshine. Minor observation - for the entrance to the hotel it will be nice to have a small ramp so it will be easier to pull our luggage instead of having to carry it over the curb. Those sitting in wheelchair will be hassle as well for them. There's 2 wooden ramps of both sides of the reception area so that is nice.

Charming old school Peranakan decor throughout this beautiful heritage building. Our room was spacious and beds were comfortable. Comfy lounge area in the room. We loved the carved wooden screen doors in our room. Plantation shutters behind glass windows very stylish. Tea and coffee facilities in room and bar fridge. Quiet, surrounded by peaceful, lush courtyards. In house cafe has garden seating with greenery and a waterfall. Room service and cafe food was delicious. Staff were helpful and friendly.

Bathroom was adequate but just tiny. I didn't see an iron or hair dryer in the room but we might have been able to request these. Aircon was working but two of them had problems. One had to be turned on and off manually. The other was freezing regardless of setting. The breakfast was really hit and miss. Some items were pretty ordinary and others were delightfully tasty. Definitely more local food should be featured.

The old Style of Baba Nonya decoration and history is wonderfully maintained and gives a lovely ambience to the unesco preserved area. The location with free parking allows superb walks around the area and access to the jonkers street located 5 mins walk. Rooms are tastefully decorated with modern equipped air con and bathrooms. Breakfast is a buffet and provides a superb start to the day!

“Watch your step” as with all of the preserved buildings in the area, uneven floors exist and even though clear trip hazards are indicated you should be careful
