1. Very bad smell from toilets. Reports the same from first day but wasn’t sorted 2. Would advise the hotel management to train staff on welcoming and guest hospitality such as smile faces, giving attention to guests when requesting a service etc.

The hotel was very modern with nice and simple interior. The location was perfect, only a few minutes walk from the beach and restaurants. I really enjoyed the big selection of breakfast provided every day and was impressed with the in room dining menu and pool.

The cleanliness can definitely improve and facilities need to be more consistent with cleaning and providing amenities. Apart from doing the bed each day nothing else was really cleaned nor sheets were changed, I stayed for 4 nights. There was toothpaste marks on the mirror from the previous people. The hotel rooms really needs to be sound proofed. I was given a room by the lift so can hear the lift bell all day. I can also hear the people in the next room to me whilst they were playing their games, talking, having a shower. The walls are ridiculously thin.

The hotel is fairly new, rooms are big and clean, bed are big and comfy. The bathroom has a helpful faucet with purified water which is very helpful e.g. to brush your teeth. Breakfast (we booked it additionally) was very good and abundant. The pool is very nice, although in the afternoon it is almost completely in the shadow.

The position is not really optimal, you have to walk a lateral street of the mall, and the view from the hotel is really bad, on one side you have basically nothing, in front of the hotel there is a material storage, and the restaurant and its terrace if facing exactly there - overall you do not get really the idea to be in a sea location. The location is constantly evolving, new building are being built nearby, waiting for a tourism explosion in the area. However, IMO, the Mercure is one of the best hotel in the area, you have then to see if the area is for you or not.

A cosy hotel with a small but well appointed lobby / lounge which was breezy. The hotel staff especially Syaz ( at the poolside lounge )were exceptional. The location of the hotel was spot on. Many points of interest were nearby. Rooms were spacious, well-kept and were soundproofed well. Food & beverage prices were reasonable considering the locale the hotel was situated in.

There was an option for an express clothes pressing service, which if we didn’t insist on it being completed within the stipulated 6 hours, my wife’s clothes would’ve arrived the next day/ very much later in the day than needed.

Very big rooms, good breakfast and gym.

The pool is open until 22:00 on weekdays and until 23:00 on weekends. The noise from the pool and the bad acoustic from the open bar, makes the noise unbearable to sleep. The average decibel in the room with closed balcony and only AC working was 55DB, and in the balcony it was 72DB and max 78DB. I could here the music and people loud talks and Karaoke from the bar, inside my room and in the hallway. Obviously the hotel’s square shape around the pool creates echoes, which demands significant acoustic adjustments to minimize in rooms noise and maximize the silence in the rooms. Overall and other than that, the room was clean and big (unfortunately the coffee mugs wasn’t replaced from previous gusts and had lipstick stains), good breakfast and good location.

The hotel looks nice and was comfortable, and was great location. The bathroom was great and had a good shower. It was nice to have a dressing table area for make up and hair.

The lifts in the hotel feel like service lifts and are not in keeping with the rest of the hotel. Although the bed was massive, it was actually two double beds put together with two separate duvets so it actually feels like you’re sleeping separate from your partner. Unfortunately our room overlooked a car park which can’t be helped but it takes away from the feel of the hotel. We were offered welcome drinks but this is a standard beer, wine or juice which considering the price of the accommodation was disappointing that it was not just a welcome drink of your choice. Upon checking out, the staff member didn’t even ask about our stay and just checked us out with minimal communication and we felt undervalued as customers.

Everything was clean from the room to the public pool. Room service and BBQ buffet were superb too. My family had a great and comfortable time during our stay, and the hospitality is top notch. The parking is an open space accessible by key card, it was raining but we just borrowed umbrella from the reception. It's just in front of Cenang Beach which was really lively at night. Lots of shops nearby, everything accesible by walking distance. There's an iron board available in the room and we received complementary drinks at the reception and in the room as well. Wifi is good too.

Because it is just by Cenang Beach expect some noise until late night - although this wasn't an issue for us at all.

The location of the hotel was perfect fit for our itinerary and the surroundings had many stores, malls and markets at walkable distance The room was nice and large and clean, food was good quality a bit pricey but it was expected

We thought that the room had complementary breakfast at the time of booking but it didn't turn out as such. We had to pay separately for breakfast, lunch/dinner Only thing that was missing was a fan or humidifier in the room. Since it rains often in Langkawi and the climate is humid, having a fan/humidifier would help keep our clothes dry while in the room

Swimming pool decking got very hot....you needed footwear to get to and from the pool. Not enough sunbeds and no parasols which would probably help hot decking problem and offer much needed shade for lazing by the pool and especially for children. A rail would help to get in and out of the pool near the water spouts! More international food variety at breakfast would be good and finally most towels had seen much better days - our bathroom ones were dated 2019 and had worn very thin.

The room was nice and spacious, and the bed was the most comfortable hotel bed I have ever slept in! The bathroom was a good size, with a large shower that provided hot water quickly if needed. Despite a building being in the way, the sea view is still great, particularly in the evening if skies are clear for sunset, and we were even able to glimpse the fire shows on the beach. Staff were very friendly, helpful and polite. Great location, right in the heart of the action in Pentai Cenang.

The slow service; a good example of this would be one evening when I had dinner in the restaurant. There were only a few customers, yet it still took over 30 minutes to bring the food I ordered.
