I had a great stay at this hotel! The location is excellent — close to everything and very convenient for exploring the area. The staff were all friendly and helpful, always ready to assist with a smile. The hotel was clean and well-maintained, and I felt very comfortable throughout my stay. The breakfast was also a nice touch — simple but tasty and a great way to start the day. Highly recommended!

It takes a few minutes to get hot water in the shower

The hotel is lovely with the classic colonial architecture and with a pretty indoor garden. The room was comfy, spacious and clean. The staff was nice and helpful. The internet connection was better than any other place I have stayed in San Cristóbal.

The bathroom was pretty small and was not as clean as I expected. The dryer didn't work properly and had mold inside it. Finally, it is not located on one of the main streets of the downtown and it is farther than expected from it.

Nice building with lush internal courtyard gardens that make for a pretty view from the room! Location is great, just off one of the main pedestrian axes and easily walkable to everywhere we needed to get to while being very quiet and peaceful. Quite an 'old school' hotel atmosphere (decor, set up etc.) which we enjoyed.

Bathroom was small, dark (window gave on to an internal shaft) and occasionally wafted bad smells from the drain but we didn't find this to be much of a problem especially keeping the door to the room closed.

Great location. Central to everything. The staff and management are super friendly and helpful. Comfortable beds and very quiet.

No breakfast included which is fine as there are plenty of place close by for that. A complimentary coffee would be a nice touch. In April it can be very hot but the room had no fan. The upstairs room cooled down by midnight so it was okay but a fan would go a long way.

Hot and cold water was available outside the room for drinking and hot tea. Beautiful plants and pond. The restaurant opened at 7:00 AM and the food was good. Great location!

No Heaters, room and restaurant were cold.

Hotel is nice, a kind of hacienda with a lovely patio. Good location.

Rooms and bathroom need renovation. Hot water took 15 min to come after leaving the water running. The old tv was nos working properly. The room was close to the street and the acoustic insulation of the room was poor.

Nice small room, view to the banana-garden, good hot shower, warm blankets, nice and friendly staff -all in all good value for the money. Great location.

You hear the steps in the room above and everything happening in the yard. Hotel was not so busy when we staied, so it was ok.

I did like the center garden of the hotel, its a nice building, Location is great, Ive stay in ah lot of hotels in San Cristobal and in my expierince this the best price/value one. Although the showers needs a bit of a renewal

Miguel and Elton at the reception were fantastic. Miguel helped us booking some tours around the area (Palenque and Canon del Sumidero) and was always ready to answer our questions. Sonia took care of the breakfast buffet, and was really kind and helpful with our requests of additional guacamole. She and Rey make a great team. Finally, Felipe and Mateo, the bellmen, were attentive and kind. The people working in Casa Mexicana made sure our stay was one to remember.

The first 3 nights we kept being woken up by an engine of some kind. It was the hotel’s water pump, which kicks in every 2 minutes. We asked for a new room, and the disturbance disappeared.

Cleanliness, beautiful pond and plants, hot and cold water dispenser to drink.

No heater in the winter.
