The hotel is in a nice location very close to the main streets and squares of the town - felt very safe. Rooms were small but had everything we needed, including a very comfortable bed. While it can get cold in the night, the staff can provide blankets and/or heaters. Everywhere was clean and quiet, and the staff were very helpful when we needed to organise taxis or get advice about the town. Overall it was a nice stay and great value!

The rooms are small, so don't expect to have much space or places to sit. Also, the breakfast quality was reasonably good but there were only two options included in the room price - to choose from the wider menu (10-15 options) you had to pay an extra 25MXN per meal. This is a bit cheap and I think they should include a broader range of options for guests to choose from. Other than these small points, we didn't have any other complaints!

We had a room with garden view, which was very nice. The bed was huge and comfortable. The wifi connection was also good and stable. We enjoyed eating our breakfast (eggs, toast and jam) on the roof terrace.

The place is kind of worn down and could need a loving hand, but that is pretty common around Mexico. All facilities still worked, but it is definitely not a 5 stars hotel, though. We also tried to talk to one of the staff at the front desk about the water issues as my partner was having stomach aches (NB the water is VERY polluted in San Cris and you should be VERY careful around tap water and when showering) but he was too busy with playing computer. That was kind of a bummer, as the other staff had been very helpful.

I absolutely loved staying at the yox boutique hotel. Initially booked for 1 night, we have decided to prolong our stay because we fell in love with San Cristóbal vibe. The city has it all - kind and fun people, lots of local excursions, delicious food and places to explore. The hotel is located right at the center yet nicely tucked away so it’s not too noisy. The breakfast choice is fantastic - all included in the affordable room rate. I have to say that all Mexicans are super nice, but the people that work at this place exceed any expectations. Dear managers, I hope you treat them to nice bonuses because they went beyond and above to help out with multiple questions throughout our stay. If you’re thinking of going for a tour; then we went on a cañón tour 450 pesos pp) - it was a great price but we spent most of the time on the bus. Knowing this; we would have opted in for a private tour since we are really into nature and we couldn’t fully enjoy it being squeezed in a larger group. Again, that’s what happens when you pay 20€ for a day long tour. I also liked Ritual’s cosmetics in the bathroom that made me feel right at home since it’s my go to brand for regular use!

The bathroom was rather small but it could be simply because of our budget room we prioritized :)

Yox Hotel Boutique is an amazing hotel. The room was very nice, clean and cozy. The people in the hotel well extremely nice and eager to help us with anything we needed. A nice simple breakfast is served every day. In terms of location the hotel is perfect, since it's just one road behind the main street of the town and it felt very safe to walk back to it every night.

The hotel located a 3 blocks from all the restaurants, shopping and center of town. Far enough away to be quiet. The staff are nice and welcoming. MUST GET THE BREAKFAST. their home made marmalade is amazing. Good pressure on showers and hot water.

Lack of electronic plugs, no telephone in rooms, no hairdryer. They did bring me iron and board. No room service. Very small hotel so you have to be quiet. Rooms and bathrooms are small. Get an upgrade to superior room if you want decent space.

Perfect hotel and location. We took the room in the floor ground with the garden which was perfect to sit in. The stuff was very helpfull. We eat in the garden and they insist o cleaning themself instead of us cleaning after us. Last day they offered us to upgrade free of charge

Need to make sure you are orderig the right room. After i have ordered i doubled checked and found out that the room i have ordered did not match the nice image with the garden. The stuff helped me cancle my booking and ordering the right room - so nothing bad happended - but this is a tip because there are a variaty of rooms there and for us the garden was improtant Some of the stuff do not know Engish but help from others were therre to help

The front desk was accessible at all times, we even came back at 4 am and they were bright and awake, they even went above and beyond to wake us up as we overslept for one of our trips and did the impossible to contact them and get them to pick us up (which they did). All personnel was so kind, the place felt like home and at peace, the atmosphere was great, fitting the rustic theme, and everything was tidy and clean, 100% worth the stay!

Great little hotel in a very central part of town. Beautifully decorated throughout. A rooftop and a lower ground outdoor space. Breakfast is delicious especially the omelette. Very friendly, helpful staff (who can book a shuttle or taxi to Tuxtla airport if you need one)

Our room was compact but there are other options.

The staff upgraded us to their best suite, which is a very lovely room with a great window in the kitchen with a lot of light and direct sun. The breakfast we had was a La Carte, and was very tasty. It is not a buffet, it is simple and the portions were not huge, but it was enough for us. I appreciated the freshly squeezed orange juice, instead of bottle or concentrated one we usually see in other hotels. We did not use the giant bathtub.

My partner had a little accident while shopping for water in the middle of the night and had a fall and cut himself. He came back to the hotel and asked for first aid kit, and the hotel was out of basic supplies, which was surprising, but they said they would stock up.
